min.us (better than imgur?)

Can someone link me to the best min.us extension for Chrome? I wouldn't mind checking it out to compare to the imgur extension, which I currently like a lot, but I'm down to try kinky new things.
 
Looks like the Chrome extension may have some issues :P

Do you think it would be possible to specify where uploads go from the extension?

Say i could specify that uploads that come from the right click > upload to min.us function would go to a certain folder like 'rehosts' instead of straight to the dashboard

Hi,

You should be able to select a FOLDER/Gallery to put uploads into via the Extension. Just check the settings and eanble upload preview/editing option.

For the website, you can upload into existing folders by simply opening the folder in browser and then dragging files into it or clicking on "Add More" button in the folder menu.

Hope that explains it more :)
 
Sort of annoyed this doesn't use +Snippets to post a preview of the actual image when using the +1 buttons.

The only thing missing is when you have your "share" links, one with already included would be awesome.

edit: Taking screenshots of part of your screen too would be a good addition.
 
I don't know if this has been resolved, but Minus was setting off virus alerts for some people the other day.
 
I'm already in love with imgur, does everything I want it to do perfectly.

Maybe next time I need to upload/rehost some pics, I'll spice things up and have an affair with min.us, just to mix things up. Looks like its constantly trying to improve.

You can share files up to 2 GB each on Minus.com

There is a Share box under the website after you upload with all the image tags

I don't know, this is the one thing I want. I was kind of sloppy when I first created my account but now I'm much more careful and organized with how I upload stuff. I still have a bunch of odds and ends that are in their own folders though, and I'd love to be able to all move them into one Misc. folder.

Does this fix the bug where, when I right click on a .gif it uploads it as a .png and consequently only saves one frame of the image?
 
I'm still waiting on an OS X menubar version that doesn't have the useless popdown window. Just make it so we drop the files on the icon like CloudApp does. The way it is now is frustrating when it's accidentally activated. Please! I beg of you! For the children! Won't somebody please think of the children!

Nth-ing the request for a "transload" feature on min.us. imgur has been tanking lately, transload feature would probably get me to switch completely.
 
Wow, you guys scored minus.com, I imagine that cost a pretty penny.

Might take it out for a spin again, the bit of down time on imgur reminded me how little good alternatives there are.

What do you mean? Google says you probably mean a way to transfer all your stuff from Imgur? Yeah, I wouldn't mind that, but I mainly use this for random images I need to post in threads and most of the time they are either not needed after a few weeks (The thread disappears) or I can just reupload to the newer service. But I can see how it would be useful. If Minus is going to stick around, I'd want to switch completely. And thanks to the menubar app (Even with that annoying pop-down window that needs to be destroyed please) it is so much easier to upload an image at random since it can upload right into my user account. I just wish it would stop randomly logging me out. I hate when sites and apps do that. I want to stay logged in INDEFINITELY unless I choose to not be.

Other than that, perfect.

Also, bug report that I had with the previous version of the Minus menubar app and haven't been able to test on the new update, but for some reason after a while the app falls asleep and refuses to upload anymore until I quit it and relaunch it. That is annoying. I hope it's been fixed.

Folders allow you to browse many files easily and preview/download/watch :)

Thanks, we will add an option soon to disable this in the settings of the app.

I'm assuming we all know this, but he meant what's the use of folders if you can't move images from one to another. It seems pointless to create a new folder every time you upload an image using the the extension.

PS: You should update your avatar since the red favicon isn't used anymore. Although I personally liked red more than orange. :p

1) You can upload images/files into existing folders with extension and website.
- in extension you can choose
- on website, you can go to existing folder and drag files into it or click on 'ADD FILES' link

My dashboard isn't showing me any of my files/folders of files, what's the deal?

I could see them and uploaded stuff just a few hours ago.

Was uploading pictures for a thread I can't manage them/see them anymore so I'm kinda upset. Hotlinks still work though, and it says they're still stored there.

EDIT2: Appears I can search and get to my stuff, but I can't access my folders otherwise :/

The Android app is making bad zip files when you try to download everything...at least for me it is.

Tried to open it in two different file managers, both failed.
 
So my account seems to no longer exist.

I can see my settings page but not my profile or dashboard, I get "This page does not exist."

...??
 
For the last couple days, when I finish uploading files it scrambles up the order they're in (Example. The files were numbered and uploaded in order. Now the first file is 009.jpg, the second is 015.jpg, etc.) and won't let me rearrange them. I can move them when I'm in the folder but as soon as I exit it reverts back. It's not a major issue but it's kind of annoying when you have a folder full of photos and they're out of order and you can't set the one you want to use as the preview image.

I've also noticed my Views total is off. It says I have about 1,000 more views than I do if I add all my individual folder views up. My total jumped up by about that much in the hour or two after I uploaded a particularly interesting set so I think the individual folder count just bugged out or something when one folder got hammered with hits.

Other than that, everything else is great. I use it constantly (closing in on the 2.5gb mark) and it's cool to see new stuff and changes practically every week.
 
is it just my phone or does the android extension fail to upload almost every single time? Especially when uploading a bunch of pics (select multiple files from another app like quickpic > share > minus), they all fail.

However this one still irritates me. The individual view count on my folders seems to only tally when I view them now (Which I wish it didn't do at all. I'd like it if it only counted views from other people). My view total keeps jumping up noticeably but like I said, the view count for each folder does not. It's a very minor thing but for an attention whore like myself it's annoying.
 
When posting an image using "ForumCode". The image is resized dramatically and looks low-quality.
Happens on other forums, not just GAF. Would be good if you could look into this.

You can put the direct image link into tags?

That's the way to post images at native resolution.
 
Sorry for all the bugs guys, we've corrected 90% of them as we're adding many features sometimes things do break.

Hope everyone likes the new Dashboard and Profiles
 
Not sure how I feel about the default page being Following and not Uploads. I get that it makes it more social but that's not why I use the service.
