Apparently Itou is a fan and based a lot of his battle systems on the sport.

Exactly why the international version's triple speed button makes the game worth playing.
Is... is this a reference to FF12 or to soccer/futbol
They both involve doing nothing 80% of the time.
International version has fast forward.FF12
Basically I see the game a sim - my guys have their stats and AI routines, the enemies have theirs, and I'm going to let them go at it and see who wins. I just hate being forced to watch it all play out at such a slow pace.

I will never forgive Dragon Age for stealing one of the best battling systems.

This makes me sad because I like Final Fantasy and I don't like American Football, but yet again I am not a fan of any kind of sports really.
did you know the weapons in final fantasy were inspired by tools used to murder people

Cait Sith's megaphone.
Used to murder social injustice. Also used by cheerleaders to murder the other teams confidence. ALL COMES BACK TO FOOTBALL.
I've played FF12. I still don't understand American Football.
Well you see there's this ball and you need to get it to the other side of the field by any means necessary.

Just like how in FFXII there's this monster and you need to kill it by any means necessary.
I've played FF12 and most of the ATB ones as well. I still don't understand American Football.

But why do they have to stop and take a breather every five meter? Are they so out of shape? Are the armor they're wearing too heavy to carry for longer distances? Do they need to stop and ask for directions?

KOTOR's?
KOTOR's?
But I couldn't disagree more.
I enjoyed Dragon Age but they didn't even steal the Gambit system correctly. Most of the options were bugged and didn't work without modding to make them work like they're supposed to.Well, Dragon Age certainly did take gambits wholesale from FF12 (and the developers didn't try to hide this, they said so directly).
