I agreeAlready losing me with "action RPG." Isn't it about time that you returned to what you're actually good at, Sakaguchi? Your best games were your first two, by far.

Why not take that risk? If it pays off they won't have much in the ways of competition, and considering how poorly most of their titles have sold does it really matter if it bombs on 360/PS3/Vita or 3DS or WiiU? Not like it'd cost any more money to develop for WiiU over 360/PS3/Vita. So they're only option would be 3DS for a dedicated gaming platform.
They did take a risk on both the 360, and Wii where there wasn't much competition. That didn't pay off. Given the way the Japanese market is today it would've been smarter to invest in a PS3 or 3DS project. PS3 has already been very well established the RPG home on consoles, and 3DS is the beast. But I guess Mistwalker wants to swing and miss three times.

They didn't take any risks. Microsoft funded their projects on 360 and Nintendo funded The Last Story. Mistwalker isn't a software publisher, nor a full-blown developer (they outsource teams to actually do the grunt work on the games).
JRPG developers should start focusing on PC development.
Mistwalker wants to close. When you're a company who's had the issues they've had it isn't a wise idea to decide to bet on an unproven platform that the rest of the industry appears to be taking the "wait and see" mentality.

Obviously this doesn't mean anything concrete, but more Mistwalker is good. Hopefully this is excellent Mistwalker (Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey) and not mediocre Mistwalker (Last Story).
BD and LO are by far the best of Mistwalker's output, but the bottom of the barrel is stuff like Away and Blue Dragon Plus.Obviously this doesn't mean anything concrete, but more Mistwalker is good. Yeah, because Lost Odyssee and Blue Dragon were huge sellers on the 360.
Got that mixed up.

Blue Dragon was so underrated. Mistwalker and Artoon worked fantastically together IMO and I just wish we could have seen another joint project from them both, learning from their mistakes.
My dream of Lost Odyssey II on Wii U ?...bring it...guaranteed Wii U purchase.
Yes, I would take that too. I would take that so much. It's a Microsoft IP.
So how about LOII on the 720 instead![]()

They'd be better off working in the 3DS or pspGreat news for Japan.

I think Sakaguchi was on to something with LS. It just needed less jank and higher difficulty(clearer graphics and better camera as would help as well). The game definitely had the dept there, sadly the game was piss easy so you where never forced to get into the mechanics.Already losing me with "action RPG." Not sure if really want to make RPG for Wii U... Or just put my name out there for attention.I love that they build up hope with "Yeah we wanna do a Wii-U RPG!" and then end with "...but we have not planned anything."
Ups and Downs of Wii-U Life.
What we really need is for Sakaguchi to go to bed with Horii, Toriyama and Kato to watch from the bathroom, while Ito delivers the popcorn after being dropped off by Mitsuda who has to park the car, then we can get a spiritual sequel to Chrono Trigger.
I know it was billed as a direct sequel, but that's pretty much what Chrono Cross is.
The rpg situation on the ps3 and 360 was shit. If Nintendo can get some good Japanese rpg support I may have to but a Wii U. Just give me something with the quality of xenoblade and I'll be sold!
