last year's coronation of the rightful champions and your rulers was well bought and deserved. so we start tonight with our old buddies the Boston Red sox.

Fuck being conservative with predictions. All of the "expert" predictions all look the same. BORING!

NL East

Braves - The Braves have a better Bench, Rotation, and Bullpen than the Phillies. Will that be enough to overcome the Phillies Monsterous offense? Maybe. The difference between the Braves first half team of 2009 and 2010 is night and day. No Kotchman batting cleanup, no Francouer in RF. We actually have a LFer that can field better than a rock. Hanson instead of Jo Jo Reyes, no 2nd Baseman hitting .200, no Norton (that right there is worth like 5 wins) etc.. The Braves 2009 pythagorean record btw was only 2 behind the Phillies, not to mention the Braves had the third best run differential in the NL last season even with the pathetic peformance of the offense in the first half.
Also, Soriano and Gonzalez combined to blow 11 saves last season, same as Lidge...Wagner should be a improvement.

Phillies (wildcard) - Halladay will be godly, no doubt about that. The Offense will be the best in the league. Rollins and Hamels should bounce back. The bullpen, the back end of the rotation and the not so amazing Ibanez will bring this team back to earth though. Will that new phillies fan complian about my prediction?, probably.

Marlins - The Marlins pitching staff has to make the next step, if they do they will be right there with the Phillies and Braves. I can never count them out, especailly with the man at short.

Mets - Francuoer is going to walk 100 times and steal 30 bases.

Nationals - Most improved team in baseball.

NL Central

Cardinals - Congrats on winning the worst division in baseball. (wouldn't surpise me that they have the best record in baseball because of the division) Lets hear it Cardinals Gaf! What do you think?! *crickets*

Brewers - This team should be a 100 mil payroll team. 3 million in attendence two years in a row, and almost 3 mil the year before. Cheap owners.

Cubs - Maybe next century.

Reds - I've picked the Reds to break out for the last few years, I'm not getting fooled again! (now watch this be the year).

Astros - At least your not the pirates.

Pirates - Goddamn, that 1992 NLCS was awesome. Thanks for the memories. PS, when you trade Mccutchen, the Braves will gladly take him off your hands.

NL West

Dodgers - They didn't improve, but its not like they got worse. Kershaw and Kemp have another year of experence too.

Rockies - I still have a grudge from 09 about them beating out the Braves for the WC. Not going to be so lucky this year!

Giants - The Panda can't do it all.

Arizona - Too many questions regarding Webb's Health. Laroche and Kelly on the right side of the infield so help them out a lot though.

Padres - Please don't just give away Gonzalez.

MVP - Matt Kemp

CY Young - Tim Hudson (biased? what?! no...)

ROY - Jason Heyward (.275/.349/.450, 20 HRs) If Strasburg was up all year he would have been my ROY pick btw.

AL East

Yankees - Javy as your #4? pfft, he is the #2. I know it will be hard, but the Yankees will overcome the loss of Kate Hudson.

Rays (Wild Card) - Best team in the East right now? could be. But we all know the Red Sox and Yankees will get someone at the Trade Deadline. The Rays will hold off the Red Sox to win the Wild Card in September though.

Red Sox - Eznark's dream come true.

Oriloes - Talent to be above .500, but won't in this division.

Blue Jays - Worst record in baseball thanks to the AL East.

AL Central

White Sox - Andruw is back bitches! (ok maybe not, but their rotation is going to be great).

Twins - The White Sox have Andruw Jones, so yeah. The Twins have no chance.

Detroit - Cutting payroll? Lets trade away Granderson's affordable contract! Don't think the offense is going to be enough for them this year.

Cleveland - what happened?

Royals - When are they going to fire Dayton? Becaue they really need to.

AL West

Texas - The Braves will lead the Rangers to the playoffs. Your Welcome.

Angels - Should have traded for Lowe you bastards.

Seattle - Kotchman batting third...

Oakland - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlTvSUCCqPo#t=0m42s

MVP - Evan Longoria

CY Young - Rich Harden (yes, he is going to be healthy...)

ROY - Neftali Feliz

World Series - Braves vs. Rays, Braves win.

2/3 of these predictions will be wrong.

This is finally the year for the Reds. The season we've all been dreaming of.

The Reds will finish .500 and it will be the greatest thing that has ever happened.

is first pitch actually 8:05 or will I have to wait around for 5 hours before the game starts?

CY Young - Rich Harden

Incredibly fragile starting pitcher + fly ball pitcher moving to Arlington + an organization that doesn't believe in pitch counts + 100 pitch games in spring training + 9era 4hr 15bb 21k this spring = the perfect recipe for a Cy Young!

I will try to be a top 10 poster in this thread - with that being said, I think the mets will surpass the low expectations everyone has for them.

I'm tanking for Kabanov!
This is going to be a long season. What is the over under on Blue Jays losses. I am going to say under 100. 65-97 seems about right.

The regular season, finally! Go Yankees.

The only thing worse than facing the Red Sox tonight (because it never gets old having to play the first and last series of the season against them) is that tonight's game is blacked out on MLB.tv and I don't have cable. Damn roommates and their veto power.
