Those games were in Cleveland, an AL team's field, so they used AL rules. The NL (where the Cubs play) doesn't have the DH.

The first two games were in the American League where you use a DH. Games 3, 4, and 5 are in the National League where you don't use a DH. And as others said, he can't play the field so their only option in the NL is to use him to pinch hit, which is what the Cubs did yesterday and may do today.
