Great hard fought series. Happy with the results.

How about Davis? 22 for 22 in saves. Good stuff.

Pitching has been phenomenal lately other than that one inning against the Cardinals. Bullpen has been rock solid. Starters have all been great. The addition of Quintana and the return of Hendricks and Lackey not being awful has really helped this team. They didn't hit well at all this series and still won 2 of 3 because the pitching shut the Brewers down for three games.

Happy for Beltre. It's fun to see some of my favorite mariners get to 3k hits.

Holy shit, that looked painful for Reyes. 97 straight to the forearm. :(

Yes, all good. Pretty much like last year when the starters carried them all the way. Love to get another rock solid bullpen arm. Starters are fine. You can do much, much worse then having lack as your 5th guy.

Who needs trades? We have a new white player in town.

LOL, so Mo is now stating that "We don't anticipate anything big at the deadline."

Um, how about trying to land any spot for Grichuk for anything of value back? Or Lynn, who you know you're not going to keep. The reliever market is in need of arms, and we have plenty to offer.

I am so fucking sick of hearing this shit. Been two years now of "We anticipate doing big things!" yet nothing is happening.

Rant over, enjoy the salt from this BFIB who's getting fed up.

Cubs look like the frontrunner for Justin Wilson; Jeimer Candelario would seem to be the main piece going to the tigers.

Interesting. Under team control through next year.

Edit:. Candelario is scratched from his start. Trade in coming.

Please no. Cubs farm system is shit now. You have the Brew Crew, Houston and The Dodgers all wanting him. Avila needs to get a Verdugo/Brinson/Fisher level prospect back, another top 10 guy in their systems and a low A kid.

So you a Andrew Miller type haul. Good luck with that.

Power lefty who can close with a heat control, damn right an Andrew Miller trade. Avila needs to just hold out until the last minute and not get suckered into a bad deal early like JD. DD only shook Fulmer free from the Mets at the 11th hour 2 years ago.

Wilson has less years of control than Miller did when he got traded, and Miller was the better player at the time of the trade. Don't see how the tigers get that type of haul.

A back end top 100 guy and a guy on a teams' 11-20 range seems like fair value for Wilson.

you can dream, but I am guessing who ever gets Wilson is only going to have to trade a throw away player.

I imagine they will manage to get a return that is even worse than the white sox got for Anthony Swarzak :p

aka worse than a Ryan Cordell.

Nats need a closer, right? Justin Wilson to there would make the most sense.

I'll take a hit on the forearm over the face any day of the week......

100%. Mitch 😭

Let's play a game that involves 3 people standing close to each other in front of high speed balls.

Worst scenario is when the batted ball pelts pitcher in the face, and fielding team scrambles to pick up the baseball while the runner doubles/triples. Meanwhile, pitcher uncertain of injury extent remains on the ground. Game basically doesn't pause.

Just catching up on some good stuff I missed while at work...

3000 hype!! Congrats to Beltre. Having his family unveil the sign on the outfield wall was a really sweet moment.

The 9th inning in Toronto was great.

And finally, I'll never jump off the #KeepCutch train. He's our generation's Stargell.

Lucroy to the Rockies, per Rosenthal on Twitter

Edit: Rangers getting player to be named later

Cautiously optimistic about the acquisition depending on who the player to be names turns out to be.

Hopefully he can get his offense going for the Rockies, maybe this moon like gravity we have in Denver will do the trick.
