Oh I see it’s really for 2022. Which actually is the better way to do it instead of the last hyped game winning awards because it’s just newer in everyone’s mind.

The awards handed out at that event aren't the awards "for 2023", and there is no award for "2023's best game". That's something the author of the article made up.
