Game runs like garbage out of the box. BUT, enable Radeon pro, vsync on, triple buffering, set fps to 59 and it runs silky smooth.

As I said earlier, it won't work unless you have Visual Studio 2012 installed. HVS have been rather incompetent and have included a debug executable with the game. It requires the debug runtime libraries msvcr110d.dll and msvcp110d.dll. Those are not included in the regular redistributables.

Thanks.

Anyone else not able to save their resolution settings? Mine keeps resetting to 1080p (from 2160p) every time I launch the game. I've tried setting the config file to read only, and running MKX as an administrator, but nothing seems to work. It's as though the game ignores the config file. Thanks!

After the launch issues, I've been having no real problems except that "Faction Servers" seem to be down all the fucking time. lol

Are you downsampling? As best as I can tell, if you set the game to run at a resolution higher than your desktop resolution, the game resets to your desktop resolution whenever you launch it. For example, if I set my desktop to 1440p the in-game setting of 1440p sticks, but not if my desktop's set to 1080p.

Why isn't 720p in some of these games on PC full screen? I'm new to PC and am trying to run this game FULL screen but at 720p, instead of 720p in a little box in the center of my screen. What's up?.

I see, I thought that might have been the case. Yes, I'm definitely downsampling since they "forgot" to give us SSAA this time around. I'll go ahead and file a formal complaint with their tech support. :-)

Is 720p actually an available desktop resolution for you? Try this if you're on Nvidia hardware: go to the NV control panel, go to "Adjust desktop size and position", set the scaling mode to aspect ratio and perform scaling on GPU, and finally set it to override the scaling mode set by games and programs.

Those are the settings I use and 720p works fine for me, YMMV.

Thanks, I will try this.

Hurray, I've just managed to play story mode for about 2.5 hours without crashing. After consulting the event viewer I realised I was crashing due to my CPU overclock, for some reason MKX requires more vcore than any other game, or any benchmark to be stable. Once I upped the vcore no more crashing.

I'm really enjoying story mode, it's more like an interactive film. It's giving me an excuse to learn multiple characters as well which is nice. So far Sub Zero is my favourite, but there's a few others I've enjoyed as well.

After the awful launch I'm finally happy, the game is running at 60fps rock solid on max, I'm no longer crashing, all modes and characters are unlocked and the game is really good. Tomorrow I will try out multiplayer, hopefully the netcode is good. I no longer regret my purchase.

So how did you exactly fix that? I am having the same problem running an i5-2500k@4,5.
Do you use fixed or offset voltage? I've added some extra turbo, but it doesn't even hit the vcroe peak... Damn it is annoying.

I tried a little bit of this the other day in the famous stages that cause problem (sky temple and something woods?) and still had 60fps. But what's up with the choppy ass character select screen lol

100x45 with fixed vcore, I just added a tiny bit of vcore and the event viewer errors stopped and my game stopped crashing. My previous settings were 100% benchmark and game stable until MKX so I'm not sure why it needed more juice but it did.

Ps: I still CTD online, but apparently that's just the game as a lot of people have that, but I never crash offline any more.

Guys, if you join a room online and back out, do you crash to desktop? It happens to me 99% of the time. The only time it doesn't is if the room has only a few people.

Is there some way to enable triple buffering without using RadeonPro? I've heard that alt-tabbing out and then back in can enable it while you have Vsync enabled?

Why is this downloading a 15gb patch?

According to the notes they're optimizing shaders for better performance and fixing a replay issue that caused the game to take too much space from the hard drive.

They're also giving all PC players an extra 10,000 Krypt Koins as an apology for the rough launch.

Krypt Koin Award - Thank You
Community Announcements - gary.lake-schaal

We truly appreciate your patience as we worked through Tuesday’s launch issues with the PC version of the game. Giving our fans a fun and smooth experience is very important to us, and as a thank you, we will be granting an extra 10,000 Krypt Koins to all PC players. This will appear the next time you load the game and will allow you to immediately unlock multiple premium Krypt items such as Skins, Fatalities, Brutalities, and more.

In addition, we are releasing a performance optimization update that will address the following:
Optimized shaders to improve graphics performance
Fixed an issue to prevent replays from using up too much hard drive storage space
Thank you again and we hope you are enjoying the game.

It's on the steam news update page for the game.

That's literally it. So they're not fixing anything, and apparently the patch actually causes people to crash more, as if we weren't crashing enough. Oh and the memory leak is real, just got an out of memory error lol, what a fucking joke of a game....

Just got the patch, I no longer crash when joining and leaving an online, BUT, now I'm crashing elsewhere, just crashed on the character select screen. FUCK.

Who made this patch, BTW? I keep reading that HVS don't patch games, that they were just hired to port the game and that's it. It'd be good if these patches were made by NRS instead, really :P

15 gigs for a patch is some hibbidy bibiddy crazy town type shit. Hopefully it's just a result of a drastic top-to-bottom change in optimization rather than some weird file structure that means every time the game gets patched, they have to push out the equivalent of half the game.

I wonder if they'll even bother with the last gen version. If HVS can't make this run well on PC, it's going to be quite an experience on PS360, lol.

Patch didn't do shit. I still get awful FPS at Sky Temple and Refugee Kamp. I guess I should be happy I'm not getting crashes too. I'm sorry we have to suffer this awful port.

Well I'm on offset, I added more turbo voltage but it didn't do shit. I don't really care i won't go fix, neither downclock for this game... However the game seems fine with medium shadows :O Already completed the story with the remaining 2x maybe 1,5 hours were crash free. My gtx970 runs on 40% gpu usage, this whole thing is a total mindfuck.

Alright that was last night... this time it's crashing all over the place again...
Anybody running it on a pretty decent PC maxed out without problems?

a friend of mine has the game but we could'n make it run smooth unless it is in 800x600 and even there are frame drops on the heavy stages

all settings on low / postprocesing off

i7 3610QM
GTX 660M
8GB RAM

game should at least run at 720p with the low settings :/

Fixed the issue with black crush on MK X on the pc!

Go to options then videi options, change brightess to 50 ( they have it set to 35 ) and gamma to 50 ( they have it at 45 ) thisnwill not add or subtract from the picture and it will be perfect!

The contrast is set to 50 already, 50 is the mid point or nuetral.point of these options. They really should have done this from the default and let people crush their blacks if they really wanted to.

Game.looks soo much better now, I can see all of the detail now :)

I guess they were trying to go for the xbox one look of over saturated colors and black crush... ugh

So, is anyone else getting horrible visuals out of the Dead Woods stage? It seems that the snowfall is causing problems and the game has squares everywhere. I also installed a recent AMD update from leshcat on my laptop but I doubt that's the cause.

Um, has the latest patch fixed it? The default values are now all 50

Here is a screenshot with the defaults:
can someone post a PS4 shot for comparison? its fatality training in quan chis castle

are there crushed blacks?

also the forest stage is completely fucked for me after the patch:

Runs BAD! Just played 20 mins of it. Some levels are fine, while some drop the FPS to 30 or 40. WTF is this?

Running an R9 270x here. Should I drop my textures to low or what?

Reading all of these complaints makes me VERY thankful I got the game for $20. I would be livid if I paid full-price for a game with this many problems. My files are almost done downloading, so I'll see how it works.

Picked this up and performance is all over the place.

2560x1440
2500k @ 4.6
290x @ mild overclock

I get consistent 50-60 frames in all stages, but its not fluid at all. GPU usage is all over the place, never above 70% and CPU is being loaded 50% across all 4 cores.

Lower the resolution, no change. Lower all settings, no change. Constant 50-60 fps with weird stuttering.

WTF?

Yup, similar performance with my PC. Running the game maxed at 1080p gets the same performance as everything low / off at 800x600.

That doesn't fix anything. Story mode cutscenes are crushed.

Upon further tweaking, it looks like all of my performance issues are related to ambient occlusion. Turning it off gets me a locked 60 now.

When I first installed the game ran like garbage, even after getting all the patches...The game would load fine until I tried to get into a match, it would black screen crash every time i tried to start a match. I ended up turning all graphics down to low and the particle density down to 50...Now everything mostly works, I still get the occasional match with crazy artifacting but it seems to only affect certain maps.

Ive been slowly turning up the graphics to see if i can isolate which setting is causing the crash for me

The first time I ever get put against someone with 3 bars this happens:

This crash happens fairly often, if I'm in Big Picture it gives this error, if I'm not in Big Picture it just shows an Nvidia Driver crash.

Wow, turned this off with everything else enabled and at high and got some decent online matches today. Just had someone quitality out in my last game. It was also the first game I could actually land one of Ferra Torr's BnBs in an online match.

I can confirm from my point of view that turning off Ambient Occlusion stops almost all of the drastic frame drops for me. The Sky level still lags a tiny bit, but nothing too bad. I'm getting 60FPS.

CPU: Intel i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core
GPU: Radeon HD 7950 3GB
RAM: Gskillz 16GB

The crushed blacks are messed up. I have everything set at 50, and it's still looking like utter shit during the story cutscenes. Unbearable.

Had a bit of a funny glitch today.

Playing the temple level when the opponent grabbed one of the monks and threw him at me. I somehow interrupted it at just the right time and he reset in the middle of the air...just kind of relaxing.

He then spent the entire match like that, showing up behind me during the win quote.
