As I said earlier, it won't work unless you have Visual Studio 2012 installed. HVS have been rather incompetent and have included a debug executable with the game. It requires the debug runtime libraries msvcr110d.dll and msvcp110d.dll. Those are not included in the regular redistributables.

Anyone else not able to save their resolution settings? Mine keeps resetting to 1080p (from 2160p) every time I launch the game. I've tried setting the config file to read only, and running MKX as an administrator, but nothing seems to work. It's as though the game ignores the config file. Thanks!
Are you downsampling? As best as I can tell, if you set the game to run at a resolution higher than your desktop resolution, the game resets to your desktop resolution whenever you launch it. For example, if I set my desktop to 1440p the in-game setting of 1440p sticks, but not if my desktop's set to 1080p.
Why isn't 720p in some of these games on PC full screen? I'm new to PC and am trying to run this game FULL screen but at 720p, instead of 720p in a little box in the center of my screen. What's up?.
Is 720p actually an available desktop resolution for you? Try this if you're on Nvidia hardware: go to the NV control panel, go to "Adjust desktop size and position", set the scaling mode to aspect ratio and perform scaling on GPU, and finally set it to override the scaling mode set by games and programs.
Those are the settings I use and 720p works fine for me, YMMV.
Hurray, I've just managed to play story mode for about 2.5 hours without crashing. After consulting the event viewer I realised I was crashing due to my CPU overclock, for some reason MKX requires more vcore than any other game, or any benchmark to be stable. Once I upped the vcore no more crashing.
I'm really enjoying story mode, it's more like an interactive film. It's giving me an excuse to learn multiple characters as well which is nice. So far Sub Zero is my favourite, but there's a few others I've enjoyed as well.
After the awful launch I'm finally happy, the game is running at 60fps rock solid on max, I'm no longer crashing, all modes and characters are unlocked and the game is really good. Tomorrow I will try out multiplayer, hopefully the netcode is good. I no longer regret my purchase.
So how did you exactly fix that? I am having the same problem running an i5-2500k@4,5.
Do you use fixed or offset voltage? I've added some extra turbo, but it doesn't even hit the vcroe peak... Damn it is annoying.
Why is this downloading a 15gb patch?

According to the notes they're optimizing shaders for better performance and fixing a replay issue that caused the game to take too much space from the hard drive.
They're also giving all PC players an extra 10,000 Krypt Koins as an apology for the rough launch.
Krypt Koin Award - Thank You

We truly appreciate your patience as we worked through Tuesdays launch issues with the PC version of the game. Giving our fans a fun and smooth experience is very important to us, and as a thank you, we will be granting an extra 10,000 Krypt Koins to all PC players. This will appear the next time you load the game and will allow you to immediately unlock multiple premium Krypt items such as Skins, Fatalities, Brutalities, and more.
In addition, we are releasing a performance optimization update that will address the following:
Optimized shaders to improve graphics performance
Fixed an issue to prevent replays from using up too much hard drive storage space
Thank you again and we hope you are enjoying the game.
Where are the notes?
100x45 with fixed vcore, I just added a tiny bit of vcore and the event viewer errors stopped and my game stopped crashing. My previous settings were 100% benchmark and game stable until MKX so I'm not sure why it needed more juice but it did.
Ps: I still CTD online, but apparently that's just the game as a lot of people have that, but I never crash offline any more.
Well I'm on offset, I added more turbo voltage but it didn't do shit. I don't really care i won't go fix, neither downclock for this game... However the game seems fine with medium shadows :O Already completed the story with the remaining 2x maybe 1,5 hours were crash free. My gtx970 runs on 40% gpu usage, this whole thing is a total mindfuck.
Nvidia 780m. The 2 stages performance is weird as sometimes it would run fine.People who are having performance issues... what kind of card are you all running this on?
Fixed the issue with black crush on MK X on the pc!
Go to options then videi options, change brightess to 50 ( they have it set to 35 ) and gamma to 50 ( they have it at 45 ) thisnwill not add or subtract from the picture and it will be perfect!
The contrast is set to 50 already, 50 is the mid point or nuetral.point of these options. They really should have done this from the default and let people crush their blacks if they really wanted to.
Game.looks soo much better now, I can see all of the detail now
I guess they were trying to go for the xbox one look of over saturated colors and black crush... ugh
also the forest stage is completely fucked for me after the patch
Picked this up and performance is all over the place.
2560x1440
2500k @ 4.6
290x @ mild overclock
I get consistent 50-60 frames in all stages, but its not fluid at all. GPU usage is all over the place, never above 70% and CPU is being loaded 50% across all 4 cores.
Lower the resolution, no change. Lower all settings, no change. Constant 50-60 fps with weird stuttering.
WTF?

Yup, similar performance with my PC. Running the game maxed at 1080p gets the same performance as everything low / off at 800x600.
i5 4690k stock
7870 XT
Upon further tweaking, it looks like all of my performance issues are related to ambient occlusion. Turning it off gets me a locked 60 now.
