Now, let's play fair. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. This topic is meant strictly for discussion on movies that will come out in theaters in 2008. I encourage those posting to include pictures, posters, links to trailers, and the like. This is not a discussion for movies that will be releasing on DVD/Blu-Ray/HD DVD in '08. So now that that's out of the way, let's begin.

My Most Anticipated Movie of 2008

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

TheChroniclesofNarniaPrinceCaspianP.jpg

Check out the amazing trailer, and find out why this is one movie you won't want to miss.

If you have not seen the trailer, yet, watch it! I'm serious. Best trailer I have seen in a long time. The special effects are jaw dropping. The set pieces/designs unparalleled. The direction? Masterful. The music? Bliss. Watch it in all of its 720p/1080p glory. Then, bask in its awesomeness and await for some serious ownage.

So far that's pretty much it, though I haven't been keeping track of what's actually coming out next year. Prince Caspian definitely is NOT on the anticipated list - I'll make that distinction between the movies I'll probably see and those that I actually anticipate.

LOTR-lite. The first one was terrible.

The Dark Knight is really the only thing on my radar right now.

Brian Fellows

Pete Carroll Owns Me
The Dark Knight

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe seemed like a crappy made for TV movie and the White Queen was really its only redeeming quality. So I cant say I'm all that excited to see the new one.

Not really a whole lot at the moment. I imagine if I went and looked up what movies were coming out, I'd find more. But these are off the top of my head.

THis thread reads so much better once you adblock the shitty narnia poster.

That said....it's all about Batman Begins, and maybe Iron Man/Star Trek.

-Dark Knight...I will say this is my 2nd most anticpated. I loved Begins and this one is looking fantastic
-Harold and Kumar 2....What would NPH Do!!! See it of course:lol
-Bond 22(Supposedly Earlier Nov)...If they have a better villian in this one then Casino Royale. It will easy be top 3 bond for me(CR is 4th)
-HP6 Half Blood Prince
-Angels and Demons(Late Dec tent)...I wanted this movie more then Da Vinci Code
....One of thoses don't seem to belong with the others:lol
-THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON...The one I want to see the absolute most....It has Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett...And the director? David fincher. The director of Seven, Zodiac, and Fight Club. I have no idea what it is about...But he makes great movies:lol
-10000BC...i always liked this director's blockbusters.

Ones I'm interested in
-Cloverfield. Giant Monster movie. Ill bite
-Fanboys...I so want to see this just for the end reaction when they find out it sucks lol...Idea is a bunch of star wars geeks go steal episode 1...:lol
-Star Trek..Only star trek I ever saw was First contact. Ill try this one since...Simon Pegg ^_^
-Time Traveler's Wife...A girl I liked got me to read the book. Enjoyed it. So Im curious on the picture
-Narnia...If they decided to get their own personality this time other then PG or Lite LOTR. I'll probably enjoy it
-Pineapple Express...The next from Superbad, 40year, etc director. I'm excited for it mainly since I like the cast allot more in this one then the others. At the sametime I'm worried...since Knocked up was good, and Superbad was good(Mclovin and the cops were awesome, the two main characters on the other hand were a drag)
-Wall-e...Rattattioue may have spoiled me, Im just not feeling the trailer for this one
-Lovely bones, Peter Jackson, Big budget, Decent book.
-Righteous Kill...Pacino and Deniro...Its also an independent and Scorsese is actually starring in it too. Interest is peak
-21...Another card rip off casino type thing based on the 6 who did it in real life. If it looks good i may bite

If you need a list....here is a link with some of the big ones

Ill definitely see all the ones on top in theater but probably end up just renting the lower ones if the trailers and previews don't peak my interest or hope they come to the cheap theater. And some of those dates seem kind of like maybe...but i hope they come out too. like Bond 22 and A/D

You listed some 2009 movies like A&D and Lovely Bones.

Dunno why you think Bond 22 is a maybe 2008, it has a finalized release date.

The Dark Knight is the only big "blockbuster" film of 2008 that is a done deal in terms of quality; it's going to rock, end of story. It's the only big film I'm anticipating in 2008 for that reason.

Indy is going to either be mediocre or horrible, Prince Caspian is going to be another failed attempt to LOTR-ize Narnia, and The Half Blood Prince will most likely make me cry due to it being a failed adaption.

That being said, I'm still seeing Indy on day one, no matter what. And HP

Just watched the trailer for Be Kind Rewind. Looks awesome. Gondry's got a solid track record, so I'm really looking forward to this. I also just realized I really like Mos Def. He was sweet on Bill Mahr, and he looks good in this.

What's the big deal with Cloverfield?
Ya I don't get it either. Its a monster movie shot with a digicam. Woooo. You can't Alias your way out of this one. Love his style, but its a monster movie. I'd be suprised if he goes somewhere with it. I want him to succeed, but I going in with low expectations and hoping for ht ebest.

I have no idea. I love the poster, though: turned off by the words monster movie. To many failed attempts make me skeptical about this one. The only movie I felt that did it right was... King Kong.
I kid, I kid.

I think Brad Pitt plays a guy who ages backwards. I didn't know Fincher was directing though; should be interesting...

2. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
3. The Dark Knight

2008 will be the greatest movie year ever

Let's hope so. 2007 was depressing. There are fewer great films every year. Thank god for the Coens comeback of the year.

Indiana and Batman (as long as the editing isn't shitty) will be fun. So will Wall-E. Be kind rewind should be great too. Speed Racer looks like bubblegum Wachowski brothers so I'm definitely there for that. Hope there's more than popcorn films though...

I can't wait to see those Avatar posters next summer. 3D movie without glasses? Thanks Cameron (even though your a ***** of ideas)!

Forgot about Half Blood. That should be amazing. And sorry, no to Prince Caspian. It's Walden Media. You kids need to learn, it will still be shit. Just watched the trailer for it. Wow, it looks terrible. They ruined the Lion, witch and wardrobe and the mediocrity continues...
