This is the reality we live in. Games like this resonate with the mainstream audience but get largely ignored on Gaf, relatively.
Gaf is a bubble to gaming taste, always was and always will be.

I disagree with the idea the it looks bland. And I like many of the games that is liked on GAF as well.
I've been watching most of the Sony videos on live.playstation.com, which seems to be a portal to youtube.com/playstation. If so, are those views being counted?

Damn that guy stole so many views from Sony with that GOW trailer, it should be number one overall.
Spider-Man would still be number one out of Sony. It has over 5 million on that channel with the GOW trailer.
Overall number one so far is Star Wars Battlefront 2 it looks like. I'm guessing Mario will get pretty high up soon though since it's still trending.

Evil Within 2 was the best trailer of the conference. Game wasnt even on my radar but the trailer was almost perfect.

Some of these may be boosted by ads. I know I've seen the Forza 7 and Xbox X reveal a few times when watching YouTube videos this week

It's definitely a problem if you're not aware that other channels and facebook have lots of views as well.
However I still find it interesting as long as you know the limits of the data. For example here are the Spiderman views over time. Somewhat slowing down.
The staircase look is from Youtube fudging the data.
