I think it's the result of movies as the dominating entertainment industry influencing games since forever, but as the gaming medium grows I think we're starting to see the opposite happen.
I just saw DREDD (2012) and kept thinking it was the perfect Metal Gear Solid movie, the enclosed setting, the pairing of an inexperienced (rookie) soldier with the seasoned hardass, the supernatural element, etc.
Then I started reading about Judge Dredd and realized how close the stories are (Clones, etc) so it would be a case of comic>video game>movie, has Hideo Kojima acknowledged the influence?
So GAF, do you have more examples of this? not counting the obvious video game movies, of course.
