My detailed review of COD MW3 campaign

After getting burned on the early access last year, I'm sitting this one out. Might buy on a sale down the road, but these clowns need to give their balls a tug if they think I'm giving them $70 for this half-baked bullshit.

Where's the detailed review?

You go down linear corridors or pretend open spaces whilst shooting guns that go brrr brrr. You may even get a scripted vehicle section that last a few minutes, just like the last 30 games

Hope that helps 👌

I don't understand how people can't accept this was originally just gonna be DLC

A singular user review thread?

🤔
I just wanted to get it out there to let people know what they were getting into (mainly length wise) in case someone got home from work tonight and thought about an impulse buy for early access

If mods decide to lock it because it is just my "review" its cool

Jackfrags was shilling BF2042 really hard. I think every big "gamer" is bought. I rather believe same random 4chan anon or GAF poster

EDIT:

I love when shills fight
Always think twice about any reviewer whose livelihood is based on clicks, free product, early access info etc...

if possible find someone who already has a day job and considers gaming a hobby. He can give an honest opinion without his career being affected.

its been like that for some time. maybe 4-5 hours campaigns at most. not to mention the 250gb install for 3 hours campaign.
the franchise is totally lost for single play.
wouldnt bother with it even for free on gamepass.

Thats rough HeisenbergFX4. Thank god I havent played a COD SP campaign in over 10 years.

All everyone has to know MWIII is made by Sledgehammer Games. Consistently the worst COD games. Hopefully the MP holds up in the final game.

Finished it in about 3 1/2 hours, worst campaign I have ever played in the COD franchise and I spent $100 on this

4/10 and I think thats generous

My review lasted about as long as this DLC campaign

And Charlie gave it a fucking 7

I guess he wants to keep those playtest invites coming

Complete playthrough if anyone just wants to get the idea what happens, not mine btw

How do you rate MW 2019's campaign? Just to have some perspective on your score.
I loved it for example and think it's best COD campaign since BO2, MW2's was way more mid though, it had some cool ideas but the bullet sponge enemies ruined everything... and fuck that highway mission, it fucking sucked.

It's one of my favorites

This just should have been DLC as it was planned

To me it's just uninspired

I don't regret buying it because I enjoyed the beta and will put some time in the MP

Oh well... although I wasn't planning on getting MW3 anytime soon, it sucks that the campaign is not great, it's usually the only thing I truly enjoy in modern cod games.
But this year has been so good in terms of games that I can't even feel sad, hopefully by this time next year the game will be on gamepass and I'll be able to play the campaign for 10$ instead of 30.

Damn, 3 and a half hours is a joke. This is what happens when they can get away with it as always. We really need some competition to cod and BF just isn't it.

Should've been DLC.
Yeah I might actually wait until I can get this for 25 quid from cex. Sounds like a cash grab.

The fact Sony didn't let them get a platinum for this just show's you. The multiplayer maps are basically the maps they remastered from the mw2 remaster a few years back before they pulled them and just released it as a campaign remaster. Treyarc pulled in this year to scrap together a zombie mode to at least give some credibility.

Makarov isn't really doing it for me. What was with the MW hype back with the OG? So many cool themes and warfare aesthetics back then. Things aren't really escalating like I thought they would. Maybe they need someone else to lead the CoD campaign development. Does Makarov become the bad ass villain? I'm still playing it.

I played MW3 beta thinking the game was going to be MW3. Was looking forward to playing Dome and Seatown. The game didn't have ANY MW3 maps... I took a break from CoD for the past 3 to 4 years, I don't understand what's going on in the CoD universe anymore.

I don't understand why they would charge $100 to play the campaign early knowing it's only 3.5hours long? Doesn't it mean you've paid a lot of money and you're going to be sitting around for a while until the rest of the game releases?

I just finished it. Had its moments but it ended pretty abruptly. I actually couldn't believe it ended when it did. Definitely took me longer than 3.5 hours but it was still short. There wasn't really much closure so I guess the story will continue.

Spoilers ahead.

I was really hyped to see Verdansk. Felt really good to be back there, and it looked so nice with updated graphics.

The absence of No Russian was really disappointing. Was looking forward to it after the end of MWII. The plane mission was cool though.

Alright srs tho, if this was really supposed to be just a DLC year, you gotta give credit for Sledgehammer Games for slapping together even a 3-4 hours long CoD campaign on very short notice

Personally I paid the $100 to also get the first battle pass with there tier skips when MP launches but yeah now back to playing something else for a week.

I may go back and ick up all the guns and stuff I missed on the PS5 to get the platinum, oh wait it doesn't have that

you don't even like zombies?
damn that's a hefty price.. i don't give a fuck about pvp but pve is amazing.
zombies are ok for maybe a round or 2.
yeah price is hefty - maybe ill see if i can beat it in less than 2 hours and request a refund.

Couldn't even do it anyway because it has multiplayer/zombies trophies/achievements in it if I'm not mistaking. Wouldn't be surprised if it gives people who paid for early access the feeling that early access wasn't worth it.

Makarov was fucking shit in the original trilogy, why would they try again? What a strange reboot.

Dodgey bastards, because it is bundled with MW2 on Steam, it is treated as DLC under "Call of Duty" - which means you probably wont be able to refund it as whatever hours you've chalked up in MW2 count towards the 2 hour refund limit.

Hopefully this spells the long term secular decline and irrelevance for the franchise.
Sadly, no. I don't think people realize how casual the COD user base is. So many people play COD and nothing else. Activision has been able to treat their users like shit because of that. The main campaign came out today and there is barely anyone talking about it on gaming forums because it's pretty much just casuals playing it. COD franchise is literally the MCU for movies. Fucking over traditional gamers who don't want to be spoon fed the same shit every year

I think peak casual was in 2012. Now mostly the hardcore fans play cod.

Who spends $70-$100 for a mediocre, rehashed 3.5 hour campaign?!

I never touch COD before so maybe I'm super ignorant in this subject but with only 3.5 hours does this game have any proper story or gameplay sections?

I dont need every game to be 70- 100 hour long games but 3 fucking hours!? Thats barely a game unless you are making with very simplistic gameplay like Journey.
