My fiancé is unconscious

I haven't been on NeoGAF much in the last couple of days, so I am so late to this, but man I'm glad she's recovering! I wish her the quickest recovery possible.

Making a big ass e-card for Crunched's fiancee. PM me .pngs of your e-sigs (username or real name) typed* or written. Should be at least 200px by 200px or 72 pt font (bigger is fine it's going to be resized for the card.)

Here's what it's starting to look like in case you're wondering.

*If you want me to just throw your name up on there without the hassle of making a .png I can and if you have a color/type preference tell me.

You're awesome for this, Devo!

Add me as well. Cal from Cleveland.

And Crunched, when all this craziness is over, considering how close I recall we live to one another, drinks on me dude.

its great news that she's recovering rather well. As the swelling continues to go down she should get even better. I couldn't imagine the stress and panic you had to go through for the last few days... i'm sure the nights sleep was welcomed

Glad she's doing better! It's a horrible situation. I had a serious brain injury as well, and my wife had to go through what you're experiencing. So I know that it's incredibly hard for both of you.

Devo, please add my username to the card. Any color/font is fine, thanks.

haven't posted yet but I have been keeping up with the thread. everyone has already said what's on my mind as well, but I figure another "good luck" never hurt anything. :p

Devo, go ahead and add me, too, in blue text.

Also, glad to hear she's making a recovery, Crunched. OhioGAF is sending its full support to you, bro.

Not much new today. She is seeing double near the left far end of her vision, but she is remembering things better than yesterday and is able to hold a conversation. She's been very nauseous all day but has been able to eat jello and a couple of french fries.

I'm happy it seems the worst of it is over.

Damn, things look like there're getting better quickly. Very glad to hear. Hope you're sleeping and eating alright now.

Devo, please add me too. Any color.

Im very glad to hear that she is recovering well. Continued hope and prayers for her speedy recovery!

Yeah I'm fine. I've been eating too much today since I got my appetite back. It's a lot easier eating when I don't feel like I need to be watching her 24/7. She's much more stable now.

We're waiting on physical therapy to check on her to see if she's okay to get up. Her pain is getting worse but that's expected. They switched her from morphine to Tylenol to codeine to vicodin, so she's been through basically the whole painkiller rainbow.

Still I am pretty happy at this point. So happy that she's improved and is on the way to recovery. They say a full recovery could take up to six months, but that's nothing compared to the idea that she might have never opened her eyes again.

I can't be mad about it anymore either. The guy who I was mad at yesterday is here now but I don't feel angry anymore. Just happy that she is mostly okay.

You're eating too much because you've eaten mostly nothing in the past 48 or so hours.

Relieved to hear she's doing better. Keep strong for her and she'll be out of there before you know it.

Devolution, can you add me to the card too, please?

Awesome to hear that things are looking up, friend.
You two got through this together, you can probably get through anything.

Still taking sigs/requests for addition to the e-card. Got everyone who has PMed me and posted in here thus far.

I don't know if you can add .png's, but i'd like to be added :)
Edit: Yes, creating a sig on a trackpad is hard, I didn't mean for it to look so ghetto.

I've been keeping up with the thread but I've been really sick the past couple days so I didn't comment. Yesterday was like a hazy, floaty, dream.

I'm relieved to hear she's going to be alright though.

Add me to card also please. I'm on my iPhone waiting while my wife tries on clothes so can't say much right now. You are both in my thoughts and prayers!

She's had sixteen visitors today and they have all brought me food. Did someone tip them off to this thread?

I don't know when the next update will be as she is staying awake longer and I'd like to spend time with her. Thank you all again -- so much!

Don't be silly, go spend some time with her! :) I can't imagine how hard it's been on both of you. It's good to hear she's doing so well.

PLEASE stop blaming yourself theres no way you knew this was going to happen, accidents can happen at any time. After a hit to the head, especially one like that theres always a risk for the brain to have a seizure. Im glad shes doing much better, i just read the whole thread to catch up on her progress. Tell her its normal that she cant drive for 6 months, happens to anyone who had a seizure, they want to make sure your seizure free or your on medication to control them. Make sure you stay hydrated and both of you eat some food! Good luck!

Been following this thread since the start, really happy to hear she's starting to pull through. I hope this event doesn't affect her too adversely.

Also, add me to the card Devolution.

Glad to hear everything is okay man. I can't imagine what you've been through here, but I'm just glad that she's pulling through swiftly.

I literally felt a bit dizzy reading the OT. Can't even imagine the horror that must have been in your head. So glad things are turning up fine in the end.

Back to GAF earlier than I was hoping to be... Her pain got much worse so they upped her to dilaudid. She's knocked out. The hospital is full and they are trying to clear room in the SICU. She will probably be transferred to a regular trauma floor tonight, since she is no longer at an extremely high risk. That's a good thing I guess, but she's been receiving great treatment in the SICU and the rest of this hospital seems less good. I'm hoping the staff on her new floor will be as quick and well performing.

Fucking hell, I'm sorry to hear about this! I'm wishing all the best in the world to her and to you right now. I'm to be married in August, and I can only imagine what you are going through. I'd be beside myself. I know we're of limited comfort, but know that you've got a lot of people routing for you two! I hope things continue to get better and that her pain recedes and her condition improves.

They updated us on her newest CT. She's still got some slight brain hemorrhaging but there are no damaged blood vessels in her neck. They gave her a pretty sizable dose of dilaudid so she'll probably be out for a while.

You can add me! It's really cool of you doing this. :)

I'm sure your girlfriend will be alright Crunched, the fact that she is getting already better is a really good sign.

Glad to her she's feeling better, or seems that way anyways.

Gaf is pullin for ya and her!

Devo, could you add me please? No preference.

Crunched: glad things are improving and wish you two all the luck in the world. Glad gaf has showed some great support for you two, makes me glad I'm a part of this community.

Oh and dilaudid (sp) is some strong stuff, they actually gave me some when I dislocated my shoulder.

We're in the trauma unit now. She is resting. They just gave her keppra as a seizure medicine. I thought before they were giving her dilantin but that may have been a misunderstanding. I'm going to check with her nurse when she gets back.

The staff on this floor seems good, which is a relief. Visiting hours are normally 10-8 but they are letting me stay the night.

In the trauma waiting room there were about 30 people here to see a single patient. One of them walked over and said they were there for his nephew, a 20 year old kid who drove to the east side of Cleveland following a craigslist ad that asked to trade an ipod for an iPhone. When he arrived at the meeting point, a girl met him and led him to a back alley where he was shot in the ass with a shotgun and mugged. He has been in and out of surgery every 2-3 days but will be fine. I know that's tangential to the thread but I think there's a lesson in there somewhere.

Apple devices can hurt?

Anyway, glad to hear that everything is okay.

Like I said before, right now its all about making her feel secure, so you need to take care of yourself for now so that you can take care better care of her.

Since the level of severity seems to have lessened I need to ask...

What if this incident results in her gaining super powers? Like some kind of crazy telekinesis or telepathy type stuff. Or she suddenly becomes fluent in all spoken languages.

Devo, can you please add me as well? Any color will do.

I'm very relieved that she seems to be making great progress. I hope her pain subsides quickly. I'll keep both you and your fiance in my thoughts. You're a good man for being there for her.

Also, Cragislist, wtf?!

I haven't followed this thread for a bit but glancing up a few posts it seems Devo is working on an e-card? Devo if you read this, please add me if I'm not too late to jump into this.

Stupid kid. Who would trade an iPod for an iPhone.
