Naruto author: Naruto’s Story is at Final Phase

my bet is shokugeki no soma.

Most likely it'll be assassination classroom...

Neither of the two will ever go big overseas... One involves schools and guns, and one is a cooking manga which, judging by Toriko would not do well overseas.

So, its manwha time to shine! Someone animate The Breaker, Kubera, Tower of God.

Great news. The series has been dead to me following the Pain arc/Sakura's "confession". I didn't really care for the rest of the timeskip either, but I can't claim it's all bad, just kinda boring. I still have very fond memories of the first half, though.

I wish Kishi the best in his next work.

also One Piece 4eva.

was reborn cancelled? i thought the story was pretty much over during the final arc

They rushed the shit out of that ending. People were super upset. And it wan't even an ending.

I remember the biggest complaint was bleach still existing, and it bleach had been going through a super shit period and this got stopped while it was getting good.

I dunno if it was, jump, life, or whatever happened. That ending for many was unsatisfactory.

Hopefully it gets a part 2 or something.

I started watching naruto when I was like in the 5th grade lulz, I still kept up with the anime until it stopped airing on CN back in 2007? but then i started reading the manga. Soon the Naruto shippuden anime came out, watched a bit of it until like 2009 then it got pretty crappy due to low anime budget. But I still followed the manga weekly. Now I'm in college, and I'm still reading the manga, anticipating a new chapter every Wednesday. The series has its good and low points, still I will be sad when the final chapter comes out. It's been part of my life for so long ._.

I think god of highschool would be more popular

Actually, the author wanted to end it so she could make a different manga instead. She left so many plot threads as well.

well IIRC amano did the character designs for psychopass

Well yeah the ending was basically was
Tsuna back to square one

AC is not a long running series, At best it can last two more years. We're already halfway in the story.

Don't underestimate Jump moneyhatting. They already are overextending Nisekoi (it's painfully obvious), and they sure could moneyhat a few other series as well - providing Oda keeps providing the golden eggs.

God, don't remind me. It's not like Reborn was a top-shelf work or anything, but that had to be the worst ending in any form of media.

But The thing is , is that it did well, around the world too. It successfully spun a gag manga directly into shonen land.

All it needed was a good anime. Just get someone to make a good one, put that shit on the toonamis or at that point adult swim and we would have had something.

I like to think they're padding it for the upcoming anime

Stopped reading Reborn after the
time travel arc was over
. At this point, It got too stupid for me to carry on reading.

Not like it had many other redeeming features anyway, like good characters for example.

All of the big 3 are getting pretty creaky at the moment, as they've all fallen victim to a huge cast of relative flotsam that don't get to do very much other than lose their fights over and over until the big hero comes and fixes everything. This is definitely the path taken by Bleach since the Hueco Mundo Arc, Naruto has been at this stage of the endgame for months, despite feeble attempts at making support characters useful again (lol giant tug of war) and as much as I like One Piece, the primary motivation for the main crew is getting foggier. At least One Piece has a vastly stronger history of redeeming minor characters, notably Buggy, Mister 2/Mister 3 and one can only dream
Bellamy
in this latest arc, so I'm not as impatient to see what a post-One PIece Oda is capable of.

Eventually they loose money.

To replace the big 3 you gotta convince the worlds children to like it.

Naruto had neon colored fighting ninjas in it.

You shouldn't have. It got WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better, and that is also the reason people got pissed it stopped.

Lookup Japan work culture and values and you'll see why this isn't the case. They're painfully slow to notice things until it's far, far too late.

If they had the brains to look outside their borders and focus on the international community and given them voting rights similar to how the domestic audience can then they'd be doing alright.

I remember waiting around like a crack addict for Dattebayo to translate the newest episode when the show first started up. Good times. I'm way behind on the show now but I do plan to catch up someday. Sorta sad to hear it might be ending soon but I guess it's time.

Next big shounen manga is gonna have to shake things up significantly while keeping the shounen spirit in order to claim monster sales similar to the big three. The formula has been overplayed and overused way too much right now.

One Punch Man is definitely up there, But the series is not weekly and there's too much of a time-gap between chapter releases. The inevitable anime adaptation will skyrocket the series' popularity, I'm sure of it.

To give naruto credit it where its due, as a shonen manga it addresses issues far bigger than just the usual big dream situation. And to be quite honest, its pretty impressive, they just hide it under ninja. Usually that type of larger meaning would get thrown out but, they keep on keeping on. Too bad Kishimoto is rather polar when it comes to pacing story quality. At least he isn't kuno though.

" Why doesn't the rest of the world like our waifu and food mangas"

Probably because he's the only one who's had any actual character development.

Oh no, I'm not denying it's success or anything. It just had uneven quality imo.

The less said about Bleach, the better (although I did like the recent Komamura development, but that's it).

I just want Oda to chill. I mean, this isn't to say to cool down with all the awesome concepts (toys!!!), because those are great! Yet the pacing has been up and down ever since the timeskip got started and that bothers me somewhat.

Next big series is going to be Toriko.

By which I mean, not Toriko because nobody actually cares about it.

Man Tobi was my favorite character until he took the mask off and we find out he is doing all this for a chick who friendzoned him that wanted Kakashi instead....

How so?
I'm not saying that there are many well developed characters in Naruto, but Shikamaru?

Lazy dude learning to care about things and take on leadership roles.

He got his character development and then promptly got out of the way before he had a chance to descend into self parody like Ninja Jesus or Sasuke the Angst-Kage.

I thought Reborn had pretty good characters. I actually stopped a while during the future arc since it was dragging. The next arc after that was filler but enjoyable. The last arc started off meh but then turned good. The battle near the end
all the heavy-hitters vs. Jager, where he was tearing everyone apart
was one of the best in the series.

I thought it was on a high note at that point but the arc's resolution was bad and the ending of the manga was bad :(

DBZ has taught me they're gonna be making games long after the source material ends.

I highly doubt we will ever get another anime with DBZ's longevity in different medias.

Author wanted to end it, but didn't want to give a proper closure so fans could "create" their own continuation. In the process they shit on the series to the point it's hard to be optimistic about its ending.

You mean naruto learning to grow up the ninja, and sauske acting realistically to that horrible shit that hapened to him guy.

Naruto is ninja dbz fully expect a revival in 1 or two decades.

I'll give you Gaara, I forgot about him. Naruto matured a bit, although that's expected, he is the MC after all.

How so?

I feel he's the character that grew and developed the most out of every single character in the series by far. Just compare Shikamaru now with the character in Part 1.

He's had like 30 chapters over the course of 600 spotlighted on him, so it's not like he had a chance to go bad

Compared to everyone else but Naruto and Sasuke, I'd say that's a lot of room. It's not like any of the other Genin had a lot of room to go bad, and look what happened there.

I don't think he's any more developed than someone like Hinata for instance. He's always taken on a leadership role, albeit begrudgingly. Maybe I'm forgetting something but I don't remember seeing anything that says that he's stepped up individually. Him and his teammates just got a three for one big boy pants special.

Gaara's character "developed" (i.e. bad guy turned good) on the premise that if you beat the crap out of someone, they'll become your friend. I really liked Gaara as a villain. He has the suckiest backstory of all time, and it made sense why he'd turn vengeful and violent. His reform was terrible. It was all made worse when his backstory got explained away as oh-we-did-it-for-you-because-we-love-you-Gaara!

Naruto, IMO, hasn't developed very much. He's now able to make friends. That's just about the only change. He still sticks to his "ninja way," he still wants to be Hokage, he's still an idealist, he still says he'll save everyone,...etc. I just don't see a lot that was developed. It just seems like all the important character development moments just washed over him and didn't teach him anything, like Jiraiya's death. Perhaps this last arc has just made me cynical, though, so I'm missing the positives.

I'm gonna disagree heavily , because they made it quite clear what garra's issues were and garra not only took initiative to solve is own problems. Took the initiative to make sure the shit he went through would never happen to someone again. And became a voice of reason the sasuke vs Chief Thunder incident.

Naruto, strait up grew up. He learned about the world, and fully acknowledges the differences between him and sasuke is one bad day. Along with the fact that confronts sakura bout her bullshit, simping out on a hunting mission for 3 years of his life. And as the manga goes on, instead of being a head first rambunctious kid ready to hit first, he far more willing to talk his problems out. This last arc however did not pull this off very well, because the villians backstory in terms of shit that went down, was so far worse that anyone elses. The notion that he was "running away from his responsibilities" is so asinine. He could not run away from anything, he was not in a situation to run away. I will chalk that up to bad writing.

Probably because he's the only one who's had any actual character development.

In my view, most of the cast had pretty solid character development throughout part 1, and Sasuke's might have been the most interesting. I do agree, though, that Shikamaru stands out as one of the few remaining well rounded characters. His development has been grounded and well paced, and he remains quite endearing. The opposite is true of Sasuke. Such a shame.

Everyone is Naruto. Sasuke was his mirror image, and Gaara, and Nagato, and
