NBA 2K17 OT? |OT| NBA 2K17 OT.

did......they not include an HDR slider for the HDR settings? I'm not adjusting my entire fucking TV for this game.......god this implementation they did is fucking terrible.
 
Hey, is there an easier way to increase your attributes for your character in MyCareer? I've just been really going to optional practices and doing the vertical jump (since it's quick and easy) and have been trying to hoard VC that I get from playing games in MyLeague

Nope, there was a glitch but it's been fixed. You gotta suffer with the rest of us (I'm making 4 players) lol.

Yeah I have one but I need to tweak some things. Since the way our offense runs, I'm thinking it'll be better if I made a lockdown defender to guard their best offensive player. Sizzle is the 1st option in scoring so all I really need to do is be able to hit a corner 3 and the mids. I'm thinking something between 6'6 - 6'8 max wingspan since it isn't even detrimental to the shooting.

If glass cleaners can make 3s, then I can definitely knock down 3s lol.
 
Finally got my stupid bronze Posterizer badge. Took me way too long to get it, but it's awesome to finally dunk consistently on people. Almost 50 games in on 12 minutes games and still haven't gotten Ankle Breaker and Dimer at HoF, ugh. How do u guys get ur badges with multiple characters lol. Hopefully I got my character max'd out when the playoffs start, so I can at least crank up the difficulty and enjoy an exciting playoffs with close games.

I have a finished Playmaker. It was a chore. Working on a sharpshooter now. I grind for badges in my sleep. I feel like I get dumber every game.

Also have a post scorer with all his HOF badges. Post scorers are the easier badges imo. Only took like 10 games.

I'm dreading my lockdown defender grind however.

I wish i could ban every 7'3 stretch big. 94 3 is ridiculous.

Go 6'4" or 6'5" with the lowest weight & max wingspan, you want to maximize the speed lockdowns have. My guy plays at power forward and is actually a small forward, you've seen how he rebounds, he's only 6'8 200lbs lol. My strength rating is higher than an athletic finisher that's 6'10 240 by about 10, and my speed is 14 higher than the same player. Basically I'm either much faster than the person I'm guarding, or a much stronger and a much better rebounder, and sometimes all of the above.

They're going to nerf shooting soon, I can make shots out to the 3 line though.

The contests are the real pain in the ass for guards/forwards when it comes to getting the defensive stopper badge, it was much easier to bait players into shots with my center, where as with my small forward I actually had to play legit defense. Just get like 40 turnovers a game alleying the ball into the backcourt and you'll be able to get it.
 
Just got all my badges to HoF on my Point Forward. Also got my first anklebreaker in the park where one guy fell flat on his back lol. Awesome! Learning how to dribble atm. Can do some simple combos now to create some space.

Btw anyone got tips on getting hustle rebounder?

From what I see/hear. People abuse OJ. Set your guy up in a good position to grab the offensive rebound and then make justice shoot a terrible shot.

Grinding for the Defensive Stopper badge where it's estimated that you need 150 good shot contests and 10-20 Good Transition Defense pop ups.

The method to get the badge the fastest is to take the ball and ally-oop it backwards into the halfcourt and let the CPU take the ball and you run back and contest the layup/shot.

It's brain numbing.

Since I own 2K16 via PS+ can I just do a roster update vs having to buy 2K17?

If so what do I need to do this weekend to grt the new rosters?

You need to download a user custom roster, you can find them in the roster menu, most users play info in the download that names what kinda roster it is, look for one that says 2017 NBA rosters

Is scanning your face with the PS Camera any easier this year? I bought one of those just for 2K15 a couple years ago (and hopefully for other sports games, but no one else decided to tackle face scanning like 2K) and it was a fucking hideous process that I gave up on. Last year's version was slightly easier, but I could still never get a great scan and had to settle for one that, while it wasn't a hideous monster, the face didn't quite fit/line-up with the in-game head model. I loved using the EyeToy and EA GameFace last generation to put my face into sports games but I've been really disappointed by this generation's piss-poor implementation despite the better tech available.

I think they completely phased out the ps camera which is unfortunate because it's the only reason I bought one. Face scans are now done through the mobile app. I suggest just having good lighting. Do it in the sun, outside, and don't move your face lol
 
Wooo HOF defensive stopper grind is done. Now just need to up my attributes to get my grand badge and my LDD is good to go.

Definitely recommend some of you to make one because they aren't as limited offensively as you would think. Just play with a playmaker because dimer boost definitely helps. Catch and shoot, corner specialist, and dimer boost and you'll be just fine.

GENERAL

HDR support has been added for the PS4.
Support for the PS4 Pro has been added. NBA 2K17 will run at a native 4K resolution at 60 FPS on the Pro.
The Cleveland Cavaliers court floor has been updated to match their new 2016-17 design.
The Golden State Warriors uniforms now have the #42 patch in honor of the late Nate Thurmond.
Authenticity improvements to a large number of uniforms.
You can now use post-release uniforms in Play Now games when using a custom roster.
Post-release shoes will now dynamically appear in your game mode saves when starting a new mode or when using a custom roster created after October 15th.
Users now have the ability to toggle off the ‘Zoom in Paint’ camera option when using the default broadcast camera.
Fixed an issue where the user was unable to unequip certain animation types from their MyPLAYER.
The user can now unequip socks from their MyPLAYER.
Addressed an issue where controller settings would reset after played games online.

GAMEPLAY

Users will no longer be able to prolong MyTEAM Blacktop games by committing reach-in fouls.
The Jamal Crawford double behind-the-back combo size-up move now functions properly when equipped.
Aiming should now be much easier in the broadcast camera for users who use Pro Stick shot aiming.
Disabled shot timing for all shots (including layups, hooks, floaters and heaves) when Shooting Type is set to Real Player %.
Improvements to make catching short passes more reliable.
Dial back pass speeds (especially on longer passes) to achieve better game balance.
“Soften” top front rim ball bounces for more realistic physics-based outcomes.
Reduced the frequency of “ticky tack” shooting fouls on jump shots and layups.
Fixed illegal screens, which were not being triggered in the proper situations.
General improvements to responsiveness, primarily in offball motion.
Improvements to the CPUÂ’s double team logic and general defensive AI decision making.
Addressed a visual issue that would sometimes cause hook shots to branch into jumpshot follow through landing poses.

MyPARK/2K PRO-AM

Teams in Rivet City are again able to grab a Got Next spot while a game is in progress.
Fixed a hang that occurred to some users when they were hopping from one MyPARK to another.
Fixed a number of camera-related issues when shooting free throws during Pro-Am games.
Addressed an issue where some users were unable to use their custom jumpshot in MyPARK.
When editing your Pro-Am court, the backboard logo and wall texture can now be switched back to none/blank.
You can now view the team rosters of each team directly from the Power Rankings menu in Pro-Am.
All of your teammates will now have a unique color indicator when playing Pro-Am.
Grand Badges will now appear on the 2K Card in both MyPARK and Pro-Am.

MyCAREER/MyCOURT

You can now skip through story scenes that you have already watched.
Fixed an issue that would result in the user being unable to play their next game in MyCAREER (a restart is required if you are affected by this).
Fixed a case where some users were not seeing triggered story scenes.
Fixed an issue where some MyCAREER sponsor contracts were not rewarding the user with the correct amount of VC.
Corrected an issue where you could not purchase/equip shoes from your new company when switching shoe endorsements.
Addressed an issue where the phone in MyCAREER would inform the user of a new message when that was not the case.
Fixed a case where the player would get stuck in the line during the Free Throw Golf drill in Live Practice when using specific signature animations.

MyGM/MyLEAGUE

Points of Emphasis have returned to the Gameplan feature! Note that these only affect simulation results.
The Advanced Rotations feature will now scale all rotations to work regardless of your chosen quarter length.
Fixed cases where some approved city names (e.g. Buffalo) were not being permitted through the content filter when moving your team to another city.
Fixed an issue where player attributes were being slightly modified when loading a draft class after the first season.
Injuries will now occur during head-to-head gameplay in MyLEAGUE Online.
Color improvements have been made to the Kansas City Knights uniform.
Fixed a hang that would occur when attempting to use SimCast on the Rising Stars game.
Expansion teams will no longer get unlimited funds in MyGM.
The NBA logo is now located in the correct spot on the shorts when creating a custom uniform.

Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves unless noted otherwise

Thank the heavens that the roster update issue is finally fixed and that we are now able to have updated rosters.

Shoes, accessories, and jerseys got updated too.

Have not played a full game, but will give my impressions later. In particular, I'm hoping that illegal screens are a thing now.

Also, 2k released a server side update to tune gameplay as well and it should take into effect as you have the new rosters and in the next few games as Mike Wang does some more tweaking.

I honestly can't tell the difference from the short time I've had with it. I mean, how would 2K benefit from HDR anyway? I can probably give a better impression once I sit down with it.

The only problem is, I couldn't find an option to turn it on or off but my TV says HDR is enabled. I guess it's buried somewhere.

I played some park games after the update and thank god people will get a turnover if they move while setting screens. No more getting dragged from the perimeter into the paint by big guys.
 
Is icon passing glitched for anyone else with this game? When I press R1 (which usually brings up icons to pass to), just nothing appears over their heads. I can still pass that way, but it's completely blind for me at the moment which has caused a bunch of stupid turnovers.

I'm playing this on the Pro (game looks fantastic!) for what its worth, I didn't have this last week on the OG PS4.

It's a Pro glitch. Works fine on the OG. Lazy 2K devs didn't really try to accommodate for the Pro as there isn't even an HDR slider or anything else for that matter.

Yeesh, thanks for that information as I've spent a stupid amount of time going through the options trying to fix this and i'll stop doing that now. As fun as the game is, it's basically unplayable for me at the moment.
 
This just showed up in my ready to install tab on xb1. My gold sub expired so I'm confused. Is this a free weekend deal or something?

The Lakers are so fun to play with. One of the deepest teams in the game IMO. They've got 10 guys over 72 I think.
 
myGM mode is wild. So many added features that are freaking sweet. I loved starting out a franchise with an expansion team!
 
I am playing the 2k16 since it came to PS+ (July?). I am not a big basketball fan and the last NBA game I played was the NBA 2005? The game produced by Sony, in the PS2 lol

So, I got the game and really enjoyed (love sports games), after a few quick matches I decided to play MyLeague to become the Champion. So I play 60-70% of the games (simulated the last matches before the playoffs), then was crowned champion after start losing 0-2 against the Warrios - I play with the Raptors (Valanciunas uhuull).

It was great to play and I had lots of fun... but I cant not feel stupid. All those other game modes are so much more fun! I just started MyTeam, OMG, it's so much better than MyTeam on PES (i hear FIFA is a lot better, but I never played the FUT either).., you can't even compare these game modes...

But let me ask you something, is it better to shoot with the analog stick? I shoot with the square button and its fine but I see that there are many different commands with the analog so I guess it gives a lot more freedom. Is there any tutorial in the game about this?

It's all preference in 2k16. 17 gives you a bit of a boost for using the stick but that doesn't matter in 2k16. Only drawback of using the stick is that there's a bit of an issue sometimes registering exactly what you want to do since it's tied to so many other things.
 
Been playing mypark recently and realized I don't wanna be a Sharpshooter anymore, the playstyle is pretty boring.

Wish I could change my archetype to lock down defender or glass cleaner. I would create a new character but that mycareer grind is real and I'm not willing to go through all of that again. They actually have me thinking of spending money on VC smh.

Haha yeah LDD is damn fun on MyPark. If you do decide to go glass cleaner, I suggest at least 6'11. Anything below that, just go LDD. My cousin is a 6'11 LDD and the he still rebounds fairly well. I would think the agility boost does wonders for getting into position.

The messed up part about the VC grind is that 2K needed the amount you get from endorsements. I don't even get VC for events any more and what used to be 2000-6000 VC is now in the hundreds. Fuck 2K and their money hungry schemes.
