Want to do this, but got burned by a GAFfer who didn't send me anything last year.

hook up with me and i pinky swear i'll send you a box of awesome.

Guarenteed! I'll vouch for Mr Appleby

I'm willing to participate but the postal fees in my shit country are awful. It will probably cost more than the stuff I send :(

I really hope this turns out awesome. BUT WE NEED MORE ASIA AND EUROPE PEOPLE! GET IN HERE AND SIGN UP!

are you including UK as part of Europe?

I'm willing to double up if there's need for more UKers as long as I get partners from 2 completely different places :)

So far it's going good but we need more people! Specially from Asia, or those match ups won't be as good.

I can't really update the thread much (I'm on holiday right now, in a rural house, far off civilisation, ready for an ax murderer to jump in, but if wolves don't have me I'll be back updating in a few days!

Keep coming!

I'd love to do this but because I eat halal, only veggie friendly sweets/chocolates would be ok for me to eat... Don't want to be a bother really for my partner. But those Japanese candies looks awesome I keep seeing, I'd love to do the swap.

J-GAF incoming!

Country of residence: Japan
Country you would like to swap candy with: UK / Ireland.
Which candy you like: British newsagent stuff. Double dips, refresher bars, all that good stuff. Would love some flying saucers too.
Which candy you dislike: Liquorice, Chocolate [I love chocolate, but if you send it to Japan in the summer heat all I will receive is a gooey mess]

I'm willing to up the price from $20 to whatever you fancy.

I recommend you don't request chocolate as you will receive solidified goop.

Seems like there are loads of us UK peeps, I hope we don't end up with people getting left out because of unbalanced numbers.
No man, don't worry. We can always do an emergency recruitment call and some swappers may be up to double dip.

We will be ok!

I'd be happy to do candy swap, but I won't be able to ship anything til mid August (I'll be on holidays). So if you need an extra one, DM me. I've done 2 or 3 swaps before.

Country: United States
Preferred partner: Anywhere outside of North America
Likes: Fruity Candy (Watermelon, Cherry, any fruit really), Gummy Candy
Dislikes: Coconut, Butterscotch, Black Licorice
Allergies: None

So stoked, this is my first time doing this!

I'll probably join in - I'm just trying to figure out if there's any way to do this without spending $30-$60 on shipping.

Me: USA
You: UK, preferably - although I can't explain why. Must be the English major in me.
Like: Most sorts.
Dislike: "Candy" which is "savory" as opposed to sweet/tart/sour.
Death: No candied insects, please.

Is the goal to ship as MUCH as possible for $20, or just to ship $20? I ask this as the shipping is scaring me, whereas I can send a lighter load of higher quality stuff far more economically...

To ship internationally from the US, choose flat-rate shipping. I'm not sure how well one of the envelopes would hold up, but even the small box can hold a fair amount of candy, depending on selection. The amount of candy sent should cost $20, but I think "quality" is subjective. I like to send (and receive) a wide variety, rather than getting a small amount of "the best."

Hi... first timer in this kind of thread here! I'm in México... but, I live in the border. I go to USA 3 or 4 times per week, so I have access to candies from both countries.

I want to swap candies with people from Europe, Asia, Australia, simply because for me it's very easy to get candies from USA. I can receive the candies in the USA and I can send the candies from the USA too (if that is easier to you).

Just be prepared, I'm going to send A LOT of candies.

So... because this is my first candy swap, I want to give a very good impression. I'm going to send authentic Mexican candies... a lot of candies!
And some surprises too.

I'm going to send cajeta, dulces de leche quemada, Mexican Coke (cane sugar), tamarindos, and a lot of original Mexican traditional candies.

As long as I can cram enough candy in 9.25 x 6.25 x 1 3/8, all is well. It is discouraging when compared to international shipping 4-5 years ago. Oh well!

Your country of residence. México

Which country you would like to swap candy with? Anywhere but USA, México and Latin America.

Which candy you like? I like everything.

Which candy you dislike? Well... I'm not picky when it comes to food.

Which candy kills you on the inside, be it allergies or some sort of phobia? No allergies here.

Liquids are very heavy, comparatively, and add great expense to packages. And I think the US is the only country that uses HFCS in soda, so other countries aren't unfamiliar with cane sugar-sweetened soda.

Sounds fun!

County of residence: US (but can also get Korean and/or Japanese treats as well if needed/wanted)
Preferred Country: anywhere in Europe, but I'm satisfied with anywhere outside the US too
Favorites: Sweets! Chocolates if possible! I also like biscuits/wafer-type stuff. Combination of the two would be amazing.
Dislike: Licorice, ginger, bugs, and spicy. Aside from these, I'm willing to try them all :D
Allergy: none!

Also, there's enough of a backlash against HFC that Mexican Coke and other sugar-based sodas are starting to appear regularly. Pepsi has their "Throwback" line of cane sweetened sodas, and I see Mexican glass bottles of Coke and orange Fanata in several stores where I'm at (Oregon). So unless someone specifically asks for it, they're probably okay.

People from the US should be aware that a lot of the popular candy brands here from the larger companies are available outside the US. Kit-Kat, Snickers, M&Ms, Skittles and many others are international brands, so if you really want to be on the safe side to make sure you don't send something people already have access to, check with them via PM. Or, stick to somewhat less popular but still great stuff.

Word.

All those popular USA candies are available in most countries (well, in México we have all those).

I talked it over with my gf and she said to give this a shot! So I am in!

Woo! Can't wait. :P

Your country of residence: United States
Which country you would like to swap candy with: Any country! Although I prefer non US.

Keep'em coming! I'll be back home tonight. But a bump always helps.
Not sure if you are or not, but I'd keep a running tally of the US/Canada versus international participants so you know how many of each you need to get even match ups. The past few candy swaps have been lopsided toward US participants and we had to freeze those and extend sign ups for overseas folks for a while to even up. I did a quick count in this thread and it's looking better than the one I ran, much more even. Just something to keep an eye on.

It looks like I have to cancel this year Candy-Swap. :/ Sorry guys, but something happen with my car and I have to fix this first. And I want to save some money for PAX. Sorry.

Oh god. What isn't made with gelatin? Lol

Not to be a jackass but probably around 90% of candy and sweets here include gelatin and the non-gelatin sweets are really expensive. Now I'm not saying you couldn't take part, I'm just throwing it out there.

I'd also prefer a partner who is going to spend more than $20.

Where are you from?

I'm certainly going to spend more than $20... I want to give a very first good impression!

You could bring the candy to PAX and mail it from here. That would cut the cost down to a fraction.

Your country of residence: United States
Which country you would like to swap candy with: Would like to try some unique German, Swiss or Japanese things, but anything is good.
Which candy you like: Chocolate, taffy, fruit flavored. Packaged pastries. Sweet stuff. Cookies/biscuits. Chips/crisps.
Which candy you dislike: Liquorice or liquorice flavored. Please no bugs or anything like that.

I'm also willing to go up from $20 as long as my partner is willing to also.

Actually, there are a lot of candies without gelatin. Skittles, sour patch kids, sour straws, swedish fish, european starbursts. If someone is unfortunate enough t get me, just check ingredients. I'll reward them handsomely with New Orleans treats!

I'm hoping whoever my partner will be willing to spend over $20. I love giving people decent treats.

Are we allowed to make treats on top of buying them? I love to bake and have recently been experimenting with mint as well as green tea truffles.
