I get what you mean but honestly I still equate it to sports, I love hockey and football for the love of the sport, but there are simply teams and players we all will hate and dislike just like with games/developers , comes with the territory.

Like its to the point where there should just be a megathread where anyone can post their gripes about anything being woke, instead of spamming the forum with countless threads about something most people dont care enough to think about.

The safe space/echo chamber/real world projection is the biggest takeaway here though. GAF is one of the few places around the Internet that feels like an organic extentions of the real world.

To me if someone is woke it means they believe in freedom for me but not for thee, and are lying about it. It's a sign of how bad things've gotten that I agree with some of those other posters at all lol, but it doesn't mean we're exactly the same.

All you have to do is ignore the threads.
Trying to funnel all discussion into a megathread is how reddit deals with subjects the mods don't want to be discussed but can't outright ban.

To be fair, it is a bit unprecedented that, for some reason, a word is being treated like a painting to be interpreted, rather than just a word with an agreed upon set of definitions, like words usually are.

Yeah. Happens to me as well, in some things. For example, the arguments most people make about FF7 Remake Trilogy being soulless and dumbed-down blah blah blah are ludicrous to me, but I won't have a fucking meltdown over them. I disagreed, then I rolled my eyes, then I simply ignore/disengage.

I don't make a thread and have a temper tantrum.

And the reason you hear so many people HERE bitch about wokeness is because A) It's fucking everywhere in western entertainment for the past five years and B) this is one of the few places in the web where you can openly criticize it or laugh at it without getting banned. Maybe, they do all seem to get banned though (referring to flame out posts). Maybe they all dm a ban request. Stating you are walking away from a forum doesn't necessarily mean you want your account banned, but I'm sure some do request privately.

So much of the problem with places like Reeeeeeeeeeee and Reddit is that they never allow a different opinion. You're instantly banned for simply not thinking or believing the same. Since when was a different opinion an inherently evil/bannable offense?

NeoGaf has, for over 20+ years, never treated different opinions like evil/bannable offenses. That's what makes reading and posting on this place cool; you can be 100% wrong and still not be treated like an enemy of Wokeness/dumbass rhetoric.

We're supposed to ignore threads about a games we want to discuss, instead of the people who post a litany of gifs and memes about the same jokes thats been made hundred times? Thats so backwards and shows OP is right, because if the only solution is to ignore a thread, then that proves Gaf has become a an echo chamber for being anti woke if there is is no need for that to have any moderation.

I don't think anyone was discussing this in the Saros OT thread, it was the other thread.
 
He's not completely wrong, I think people focus on woke stuff too much. But that isn't exclusive to this forum, I think westerners have made debating wokism their go-to hobby. But he shouldn't be this aggravated about not everyone thinking like he does.

The Saros, really wasn't woke. It didn't felt shoved down your throat and frankly story was disjointed and wasn't presented in that good a manner.
