Everyone on gaf just wants companies to make good games we want to play. They keep making the opposite of what the majority of gamers want, and often actively make stuff that "isn't for you we don't want you" games.
They keep flopping badly as nobody buys them and it's killing the industry, costing tens of thousands of people their jobs, and resulting in a loss of countless games that never were (as they were cancelled or never green lit in favor of stuff nobody wants)…
We then vent here precisely because we care deeply about the industry and our hobby…and we praise it burning to the ground in the hope that hopefully finally maybe publishers will start listening to their customers again and rise from the ashes to make games we want.
Asia excluded as they are crushing it.

It's killing IPs too. I wouldn't be surprised if we never get another Dragon Age game again, for example. EA will look at Veilguard's dismal numbers, which were caused by activists in Bioware, and just shelve it indefinitely.

Exactly why I refuse to spend money on products that insert their dumb culture wars shit into the games. I don't think anyone is asking for Ben Shapiro talking points being shoehorned into their games.

bruh, I might be in the minority but I just don't care about this at all?
I'm someone who judges a game entirely how good or innovative the gameplay is and the feel of the systems (ADS feel, impact, weight or innovative tactics, sound design), story stuff don't care at all, has hardly any effect on my enjoyment, most of the times I skip cutscenes or fast forward them lol ( not for the really good ones, if I like the theme or I like the dialogue, I'll listen, eg. RDR2, W3, KCD2 etc). You don't like the MC or any character? mods that character with a box or an alien or Smurf or CJ from San Andreas - this has zero change on the gameplay. So what's the point?
If I want a good story, I read good literature or watch a good movie. Video games for me are just video games, I hate NPCs talking too much lol, let me play the game!!
Good story and dialogue is a plus for me but not necessary as long as the gameplay slaps.
I have enjoyed playing through AC Shadows, DA Veilguard, SW Outlaws, Suicide Squad, Saints Row Reboot, TLOU2 and equally enjoyed KCD2, RDR2, Hogwarts, Elden Ring, GoW and similar.
Don't be bound to the shackles of public discourse and sheep speak, set yourself free and you'll realise how much fun the games really are if seen through neutral, accommodating eyes.

OP's post reminds me of all the people I saw on Facebook whining about Starfleet Academy getting cancelled. So I'll say here what I repeatedly commented over there.
There's a difference between writing a work of fiction that weaves in socially progressive ideas and writing a work of fiction as a hammer to cudgel the audience with modern day progressive propaganda. I don't care if a work of fiction is socially subversive and full of progressive ideology, so long as it's good and it works in service to the actual fiction. The problem is most writers/developers now put "the message" ahead of the fiction and use it to continually smack the audience with their present day ideology. That is bad writing, destroys immersion, and turns people off.
Be as socially progressive or as socially conservative as you want.
But don't make that your product's entire identity.

They are wrong about the echo chamber though, as in here one can say if they find a game too woke or too right without a ban and create discussion. Try doing that in real echo chambers like Era and they will delete your acount and behave like you never were there in the first place.

This is precisely why King of the Hill is a beloved cartoon while Mr. Birchum is trash tier. Hank Hill is a conservative, and you root for him because he feels like a person you know, the caring father who is averse to change and feels like a fish out of water in an ever-changing, evolving world. His core principles are admirable, and you can see him make a genuine effort, which leads to amazing moments like this:
The show has heart at its core, and it works because you get different perspectives without the show trying to preach at you. Meanwhile, you watch Mr. Birchum and he's just an insufferable asshole to everyone around him. Everything he does is mean-spirited, barely any of the jokes land, and it's all because The Daily Wire's social conservative messaging is the motive for the show, rather than telling a good story. It's as in-your-face as the Dragon Age: Veilguard.

I raked my lawn today. Looks nice. Laid a bit of seed down. Watered it. Hopefully it makes a nice come back.
Washed the wife's suv too. Could have just powered washed it, but I went a bit further and used a sponge. Looks nice.
Dog barfed on a floor mat so I cleaned it up and pressure washed all the mats in the house. They look nice too.

We actually have an urban garden plot. Last year our turn out was terrible.
Loads a squash and zucchini but even our potatoes didn't grow much. Zero peas and almost zero carrots. Was a weird season.
