There are much stronger than Goku. Even in Dragonball Z there was stronger characters.

There were characters that were stronger than him at some point, but by the end I think he was pretty clearly tops. Well, unless we compare him to a theoretic fusion he could create with someone else, in which case he can never match up to Himself+Extra.

Really...why the fuck would they be fighting anyways? These are two of the most genuinely nice characters in existence. Both of them did pretty much everything they could to help the people in their respective universes. I'm not familiar with a lot of Superman storylines but he didn't seem to really hate anyone. The only grudge Goku was a part of was between him and Vegeta (And that was one-sided...Goku wasn't the one that kept that one alive).

No. The saiyans that survived were on ships. I believe Goku was either in transit to Earth or had already arrived; Vegeta and the others were on Frieza's ship our deployed to other planets.

The whole reason Frieza blew up Namek was that he could breath in space while Goku couldn't. He knew he couldn't beat Goku after he became a super saiyan.

That was the filler anime episode. The guys who did the show decided to do their own story arc while waiting for the manga writers instead of resorting to the typical "expand one page into twenty episodes by having characters grunt and 'charge up' the entire time" method, and that's the Garlic Jr. saga.

Goku can teleport away easily without the use of his arms. Only reason he puts his fingers to his forehead is to concentrate and to find a specific ki. For example, the cell arc had him teleport while using the kamehameha without using his fingers.

In early issues of JLA, Superman (and the rest of the JLA...wonderwoman, GL, aquaman, etc) took on and defeated the combined forces of heaven, INCLUDING God's most powerful general/angel, which superman took and defeated hand to hand. hell, that guy's strongest attack did absolutely nothing to superman.

He's a good bit more powerful now than he was then in the late 90s. The "more powerful than god" argument isn't going to help goku here.

Nah. Goku I still probably the strongest character in manga history. Alucard and co just have high dexterity, half of them aren't even that great fighting wise. I'd be strong too if I wasn't afraid of getting hurt badly.
