New Batman: Arkham City footage

Arkham Asylum is one of my top five favorite games ever, and this looks like it's going to surpass it in about every conceivable way

Even Catwoman, a character whom I normally hate, looks like a blast to play as

Also the gliding and city traversal looks phenomenal!

Saw the footage on the Gametrailers live stream, it looks incredible. Definitely going to pre-order the PC version.

Made me say Wow when they were gliding Batman around. Love that. Especially just landing on the edge of a roof to get a view of a crime in action. So beautiful. Reminds me of a Batman version of Crackdown..

Seeing batman use a Just Cause 2 style grapple + glide to fly, I hope more open world games use it as well (Saints Row 3rd). The best way to travel.

Same for me. My only concern is they'll use catwoman as a crutch. By that I mean she won't be nearly as powerful as batman (which is to be expected) and instead of compensating for that, she'll be handicapped in some way, thus making her portions of the game frustrating rather than fun.

Frankly, I want to play as Batman in a Batman game. I really have no interest in Catwoman.

I was watching this on spike and the game looks phenomenal. It is pretty much my idealized super hero game the way I envisioned many years ago.

But is it just me or does the console version look to be running in obvious sub HD resolutions? It doesn't look as good as the first game to me.

Seeing Batman gliding over an actual city sold me instantly. Not that I needed to be sold or anything, Arkham Asylum is still one of my favorite games this gen.

Really excited for this! Saw the GTTV demo walkthrough and it got me excited!

Could be GOTY material, looks like a natural progression from Arkham Asylum. Bigger, better, more variety, exploration, side missions. The game looks more cinematic as well, but in a good way.

Will be in my top 5 games this year for sure. Looks amazing. I seriously thought inFamous 2 would be the best superhero game of the year, but no contest here.

Yeah. Everything I've seen so far gives me the impression that it has a tremendous balance when it comes to everything you mentioned. Of course it's too early to say for sure, but I'm of course giving Rocksteady the benefit of the doubt here

Also after watching it a second time I love how genuinely excited the developer seems to be when he is doing the walkthrough. You can tell they put a lot of love into this. I also really liked hearing him articulate some of the ideas behind the game design. These guys know what they are doing

God this looks amazing. Love that there's an XP system, and the open-worldedness looks pretty cool. However, I hope they keep the Metroidvania-ness as well.

Can't wait.

This, Dark Souls, and Skyward Sword have fortified my spirit. As long as I get my action-adventure fix, nothing's gonna bring me down.

The music that plays when they cut to the Batman gameplay. Holy shit. I need this game right now.

This is the first game where I'll do every single side mission known to man because it's gameplay and world are the best out there. Arkham Asylum was the first game that I went around and got every collectible, even a few after beating the game. It's the quickest I've ever replayed a game and I've only beat 10 or so games twice.

My god...

Arkham Asylum was already my GOTY when it came out.

Somehow this looks even better! I like selina, but I hope we're not forced to play her too much. Every second not gliding around gotham being generally badass is a waste, no matter how awesome catwoman looks!

It seems like a labour of love, the team is obviously an enormous fan of the series and its mythology.
