I always wanted an armored Batman costume, but they went beyond the look of the Nolan movies and it makes me hope they put the Origins costume in. Odd how he also looks so skeletal and face-lifted wearing the cowl. Overall, it looks the good in motion and during third person gameplay, but the cutscenes are a bit off.

That's how capes move in a game rated M for Mature.

I think the problem is that now the cowl is a hard surface. In previous games it is usually followed the contours of the face and brow line. So even when the character was emoting the eyebrows would still be able to move. Now it is just a big solid surface and it is causing a Frankenstein like look to the brow line.

Colors look a little washed out in comparison to that original E3 footage; hopefully that's a PS4/Console issue. Batmobile doesn't look fun and never has. It reminds me of those forced car segments in PS2-gen James Bond games, which probably inspired it. Combat looks to be improved and the navigation looks much smoother. I was more of a fan of Asylum than City, and Origins didn't improve things. But I have a feeling this will satisfy: the city is just so vertical and intricate.

Looks great but again I just can't see the appeal of Kevin Conroy. His line delivery Is so bland and almost sounds fake. Roger Craig Smith was perfect.
Well, Conroy has that stoic professionalism and seasoned aesthetic.
RCS had some good emoting for a younger Batman, but he also had a tendency to end nearly every sentence with the same vocal inflection. His role was also written to be more emotional, which would naturally test the voice actor's range more than Rocksteady's Batman.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, Roger Craig Smith killed it in Origins and did a much fresher, and less robotic performance as Batman than Kevin has done for any of the games. Kevin just sounds bored and never shows any real emotion in any of the Arkham games.
I gotta say as well, the character design for Batman is kinda rough. His face looks awful! But the suit itself isn't bad at all. Rocksteady have never had great looking designs imo. Origins had the best look I think.
To me they are two completely different types of Batman. Conroys Batman has been Batman quite a long time, he's used to it and dealing with all the shit that comes along in a measured way with no need to get emotional. Origins Batman is relatively new and so he's a bit more overexcitable and emotional and new to dealing with all the villains in Gotham City.
I like both performances but personally Conroy will always be Batmans voice to me so I prefer him.
For lots of people, including me, he IS the voice of batman.
Everybody else sounds wrong. I'm aware it's bias, but I honestly can't even begin to judge another performance against Conroy since, like I said, they just aren't Conroy.

Well said. I also dug Roger Craig Smith's VO. But I want Batman, not Chris Redfield. I don't think he separated the two enough.

It was just at that part in the scene where it becomes rigid. Watch the video before and after and the cape physics look fine. It might be that it goes from being physics driven to rigid because it is about to be hand animated for when he jumps off the ledge. Maybe they still have to go back and fix the transition.
Chances are that won't be until you've beaten the game atleast once. I don't think they've ever allowed you to wear alternate skins on the first run through.See I didn't really like the Origins design, nor do I like the new armored Batman in AK. First thing I am going to be doing is switching to the New 52 outfit the first chance I get.

The Origins costume is far far better than anything Rocksteady had done.
Aside from the ugly looking Batsuit/cowl everything look absolutely fantastic in this. I just hope they have Origin's Batsuit/Bat 3D model for us to use instead of the new batsuit in this(there is already the New 52 one so I hope for the best suit of the Arkham series to come back)
Yeah I agree, WB Montreal did great making the Batsuit (and other character for Origins), Rocksteady should've let them handle the character and costume designs for this game.

I know. That's why I said "as soon as possible" I will be sporting that. Also, I remember hearing that you start the game in the old Arkham costume and that you reach a point in the game where Batman needs to upgrade his gear.
Hopefully it will be a scene where he grapples up to his penthouse apartment. Batman activates a suit chamber to pop out of the floor. Press LB to "Even the Odds" and he suits up in the new armored gear.
Some Gaffers will LOVE that!

Still looks amazing overall and only games I am really excited about on ps4 thus year but I still hate the new batsuit, his face his horrible and the voices were very off in that video.

No it's actually a custom version of UE3, and yes it is looking stunning, really hoping final PS4 version won't suffer from any downgrades, I'm good if it will look as good as this trailer.

lol I keep seeing this comment and my only response is....what were you expecting? Rocksteady isnt going to completely change up everything when the gameplay was praised in all the other games.
If you didnt like the previous Arkham games, then fair enough.
