Don't know how people come up with these stories...
Tearing is an easy last minute fix. Keep in mind that they're in the midst of crunch right now and there will likely be a major day 1 patch. This build is over a month old as well.
There is still pop-up in this video, so i dont know what are You talking about. Shadow rendering distance seems unchanged. And i dont really see per object motion blur, but in such crappy footage You cant really be sure.
I never said that pop-up is caused by CPU.

Mist looks very cool. They also added more color in that scene with crashed stuff.

Killzone 3 did not have object based motion blur.
Open ended gameplay is not something new, it's already been mentioned the game is reminiscent of Crysis. The game looks good as I said before but so did KZ3 when that came out and that game stank. If it's just another shit story with a weak premise and bad writing then it's no different to any other FPS.
Are people comparing KZSF to Crysis?
Sentence I bolded, exactly that is the difference. KZSF has levels, Crysis had one big ass island.
I remember a mission in Crysis back when I was playing it in 2007 where you had to go to a enemy camp and do something (forgot what it was). You could go straight into the camp via the main route, you could go enter the camp from the jungle/woods side from the east. What I did was go all the way down to the beach and use maximum power and use those rocks to climb up and I was at the back of the camp. I completed my mission without them knowing I was there and/or I could do a surprise attack.
It's not gonna go away really, this game uses the lod system. I hope the technique that ryse uses (culling by priority/distance) becomes mainstream soon enough.
Triple buffering doesn't need RAM. It needs GPU power.

Explain the difference on the PS4.
I hope this isn't just semantics wankery.
Just saw video showing the latest version of the forest level
*All lod problems have been fixed - no more pop ups!
*They have added moving mist to the level -looks rad
*they have added god rays to the level. Allthe trees are casting god rays (
*it has screen tearing but the frame rate is solid
*depth of field is back and they have added object based blur
*particle effects seem lacking compared to the latest multiplayer footage
The fog/mist really changes the look of the level. Looks wayyy better than the e3 build.

Architecturally 100% of each other's memory can be accessed. Not just a few bits of shared memory.Even with PS4 [+Xbone and X360] that has one shared memory pool, CPU and GPU have their own allocated memory sections, with few bits of shared memory that can be accessed by both of them. This is a consequence of separate bandwidth pipes between CPU, GPU and memory, and the traditional game engine architectures.

You're right of course with the separate pipes and the game engines and what that means in practice.
However, none of this explains the objection by Sethos to the usage of word RAM towards evilalien.
At no point does it make sense to interpret evilalien using "RAM" to mean the memory that is reserved for the OS, while everything else of the pool the game uses is referred to as "VRAM."
What's considered as "next gen gameplay"?Next gen graphics
Current gen gameplay
It does look incredible visually though. I just wish the hardware would open up new possibilities with the gameplay, especially in such a crowded genre.

That's kind of the industry's problem right now. Open world experiences are def not something that was fully represented this gen. BF4 multiplayer also can't be done on current gen so that's something. KZ looks incredible visually, but it is literally doing nothing that hasn't been seen before or couldn't have been done on ps3.What's considered as "next gen gameplay"?

I'm not worried, I don't recall any screen tearing in either KZ2 or KZ3. GG doesn't like it either.

No one even thought about OS usage based on what evilalien said. You brought it up.What the game uses? No, what the GPU uses. There's a clear distinction between OS use, what the game uses for regular RAM operations and what the GPU has allocated. This isn't food recipes, when you speak about technical stuff you use the correct terminology.

BF4 is on current gen consoles....unless you think upping the player count is the next gen feature. Reading posts like yours criticising games for not having "next gen" gameplay always make me laugh, especially when the games you're buying at launch are Forza 5, Killer Instinct and BF4 lol. There's like nothing next gen gameplay wise according to your own criteria about any one of those.
Something we haven't seen before in a million current gen shooters.
"Next Gen Gameplay"
Shit sounds like something Microsoft PR would say.![]()
Well, apparently now they don't like massive input lag either, but, well, KZ2...
On topic: I saw the first seconds of the OP video and said "holy shit" to myself out loud for real, but then said "you will not be fooled into buying Killzone again based on graphics."
