Where's the Killzone apocalyptic feel I like so much.
Haha. The thing is that gameplay is not defined by a console generation, but rather a developer's creativity. "Next-gen gameplay" means nothing. It is nothing.
owl?
A bunch of streamlined elements from other games packed into a robot with a name. Not what I would call next gen gameplay.

It plays the same but you can tackle objectives in a different order in SOME areas. Big deal. What are the gameplay changes? I'm not seeing them.

While the game looks kinda cool - it's 2013, who seriously wants to play a FPS with something around 30FPS and tearing?

As long as it is a solid single player FPS who the fuck cares? What was the last AWESOME single player FPS you played? Last great one for me was Far Cry 3, but I liked it for the open world elements, the story etc were all crap.
I can't honestly remember since they all try to be the same game. Probably Crysis 1 or COD 4, both 2007 games.
(Far Cry 3 had an awful open world by the way. Typical Ubisoft filler game)
Give me an example, just one example, of gameplay that cannot be replicated on PS3 or 360.
Metro games have pretty outstanding campaigns.
Same ole' argument.
WE NEED NEXT-GEN GAMEPLAY!
But they added X, Y and Z?
THAT IS NOT NEXT-GEN LOL BORING!
So what is next-gen gameplay?
...
Every thread turning into "let's please Derrick01" is so tiring. He has been around long enough that his shtick should be obvious and if it isn't obvious to you then it should at least be known.

So please, do give an example of what you would consider "next gen gameplay". Since obviously you know exactly what you want. Give precise examples.A bunch of streamlined elements from other games packed into a robot with a name. Not what I would call next gen gameplay.
Just saw video showing the latest version of the forest level
*All lod problems have been fixed - no more pop ups!
*They have added moving mist to the level -looks rad
*they have added god rays to the level. Allthe trees are casting god rays (
*it has screen tearing but the frame rate is solid
*depth of field is back and they have added object based blur
*particle effects seem lacking compared to the latest multiplayer footage
The fog/mist really changes the look of the level. Looks wayyy better than the e3 build.

well shit, its only a month left and I haven't even started the OT of this game yet.
I'm not seeing any screen tearing and I'm normally pretty sensitive to it.

The ironic thing is, his taste in games isn't particularly inspiring anyway. And Deus Ex, which he champions in his Avatar, also did nothing revolutionary or new, yet is one of his favourite games. And that's the point, games don't have to be revolutionary to be great, they just have to have excellent execution. It's why REV09 will buy Forza 5 despite it barely being that different from Forza 4 gameplay wise, why Derick will buy Deus Ex 2: Cyborg Evolution despite it doing hardly anything ground breaking gameplay wise, and why I'll buy Killzone Shadow Fall despite it not being revolutionary (though it is a big departure for the franchise itself). None of these games need to re-invent the wheel, they just need to make sure their wheel is damn well designed.
SniperHunter said:Yes 2007! Yes I think the last great one for me Crysis Warhead (but I haven't played the latest Halo games). Far Cry 3 was ok but like I said, i only liked it for the open world.
As long this game delivers a solid FPS experience I don't think anyone should complaint. The single player FPS genre has suffered a lot in the last few years.
I really, really, really, really hope that most of the campaign level will be that open.
Deus Ex 1 was unbelievably unique when it came out. Still is really since game design and level design only went south as the years went on. I'll say for the second time in this thread don't assume I love a game just because I use it as my avatar, that's faulty logic for anyone not just me.
Regardless, the Human Revolution avatar does provide hilarious irony to a lot of your posts.Deus Ex 1 was unbelievably unique when it came out. Are people comparing KZSF to Crysis?
Sentence I bolded, exactly that is the difference. KZSF has levels, Crysis had one big ass island.
I remember a mission in Crysis back when I was playing it in 2007 where you had to go to a enemy camp and do something (forgot what it was). You could go straight into the camp via the main route, you could go enter the camp from the jungle/woods side from the east. What I did was go all the way down to the beach and use maximum power and use those rocks to climb up and I was at the back of the camp. I completed my mission without them knowing I was there and/or I could do a surprise attack.
I think they are showing the game that way because that is the new gameplay they are targetting.
I really, really, really, really hope that most of the campaign level will be that open.
Everytime it's shown, it looks more and more of what Crysis 2 should have been.
your making the OT? ....cool make it soo awesome also and the lore pic from that thread
I was also under the assumption that Crysis was completely open world before I actually played it. In reality, it's just a series of small open world levels.I'm sorry, what? Crysis does not have one big island. The island is segmented into levels much the same way a game like Halo is. There are distinct levels with distinct objectives and distinct load screens and so on and so forth.
