New Crackdown incoming?

This honestly just raised my hype levels to at least care somewhat about what Microsoft might show at E3 now. The original Crackdown was just a flat out fun game. Wasn't it the first current gen open world game?

I think it was saints row?

Edit: Blood wake would be cool to but after C3 k, thx

More photos thanks to TheVerge and Engadget, including a close up shot of that possible Rare game.

Guys, the Rare game with the water background is definitely Undertow 2. Trust me!

Thanks man.

Finally I get to see this one up-close. What is that supposed to me? Looks like a girl under a swimming pool.

Looks like a girl with her back against a wall (possibly the interior of a 747 or train?) holding her arms up to protect her face with a strong light (projector?) casting shadows.

Enhance...

That texture is either something like lightning/power effect or the viewer is looking through cracked glass (broken camera lens?), depending how I played with the curves and shit.

I still have no idea what pose that is. I turn my laptop around and it makes even less sense.

Pretend a scary monster is coming straight towards you and you throw your arms up in front of your face instinctively to protect yourself, palms facing forwards towards your attacker. Don't stop with your hands over your face though, keep pushing your hands as far as you can across to the the other side of your body. You should end up like you're trying to smell the insides of your elbows.

Best I could find...

I could have swore crackdown 2 was a piece of trash

I don't why people are excited for the supposed crackdown 3 yeah crackdown 1 was a solid game but nothing to ride home about.

Crackdown is, for me, my favorite open world game made to date. I honestly had more fun with it than any GTA game. Hell, I bought the damn game just to get in the Halo 3 beta and its a top 3 game of its generation. Didn't like C2's direction though.

I remember playing the demo for Crackdown for hours. I played the game for a very long time. If it's not your thing you won't get excited and I don't think it's a system seller, but man I used to hear that orb sound in my head falling asleep at night. Plus filling a truck full of explosive barrels and sticky mines never got old.

Fuck, I should go play it...

That's right. Crackdown one was great. Crackdown 2 wasn't. It somehow took the wrong direction and lost all of its appeal.

The narrator guy in Crackdown 2 commented on everything you did and tried to hold your hand to much.

What's the deal with the fence?

I'm thinking this is a Kinect title...

During the video a blue mist goes through the environment touching stuff. I would guess that it is a world bulding game of some kind, because if you look at the other picture where the same green trees and stuff is represented in the four icon row, you can see it is segmented into a tile hanging in the air. Which makes me see it as a tile builder thing.

Viva Pinata had fences....

Oh God, could this be a Viva Pinata game using Kinect as its primary controller?

Could be Viva Pinata? I didn't dare to hope for it, but it seems it might be that little bit closer to becoming a reality...

But I thought we already got Saint's Row 4...

Woah, I didn't know about that game. Just watched the gameplay trailer, there are indeed vibes of Crackdown in the super-powered gameplay. I'm not sure about the city design, but I'm definitely interested in that.

I had forgotten about him... but it was a big part of the charm of the game, too. :) "Well done, Agent !"

I doubt it's Viva. If I had to pull something out of thin air, my guess would be a spiritual succesor to Kudo mixed with Minecraft stytle world building stuff in a persistent world.

Or a Fable RTS.

Crackdown clones are pointless if they don't copy the two most important features from Crackdown.

Orb hunting and the the open ended mission structure.

Loved the original Crackdown, but wasn't Crackdown 2 pretty poor?

It wasn't poor, it just wasn't as good as CD1.

It brought some great things to the table, 4 player co-op, wingsuit, helicopters, new skills and most importantly, chasing orbs.

As frustrating as it was, finally catching one of those bastards after wasting a good 30 minutes chasing it was incredibly fulfilling.
