Gold, Silver, and Steel black come out on Nov. 6 and Crystal on Dec. 3 (Japanese release dates).

I like the silver but that's my second favorite color so that's no big surprise. What bothers me about the PS4 controllers is the black bottom of the handles. It just ruins the colors for me if the colors don't match. I like the gold but it just looks kind of tacky with the black bottom. I feel like most of the controllers do if the color isn't uniform all around.

The gold/silver/steel black look AWESOME - honestly I think i would buy all of them. I use xbox one thumbsticks on all my controllers so the bad rubber doesn't get me. I'll tell you what annoys me the most....the serial number sticker on the back WARPS to hell. It drives me nuts. I need to think of a way to apply laminate over the sticker.

I'm really surprised how many likes the crystal is getting. You can buy the entire crystal shell with ALL the buttons for like $10-15 on Ali Express.

Received my order of the Gold, Silver and Steel Black editions from playasia today. Looking swish. I would have bought the crystal edition however they had already sold out their pre order, so I will pick that one up later.

That depends only on the software/game. Nothing to do with the hardware itself, console or controller.

No, my buddy bought a white PS3 from Japan way back in the day and the X and O buttons were reversed functionally for all games.
