Good setup. Only thing you have to do is bring the tv down. watching the screen you need to see a little piece of the steering wheel in the lower part of the screen. You have to look directly ahead of you, not above.

Also good setup Bruce. I just find the TV to be a bit too high. I posted my setup in previous big thread but I am on my cell so it'll take forever to find.

The Europe PSblog's twitter account. They said that they should have a new release date before the end of the month.

I wouldn't know without reading their source code. Feeling wise.. I can jump from netKar PRO to iRacing without problems. rFactor ddoesn't give me that kind of immediate feeling but it might just only be the fact that I have DK-physics as part of my background as race simmer. I feel the car pretty well with Live For Speed too - very interesting AI code too! the way they learn. it's a fascinating piece of code! I think it must be the lionhead's heritage... (...)

Question: So when we talk about feeling of the car and about the 3 sims that seem the most connected (to me) Live For Speed, iRacing and and netKar PRO it all comes to tyres. Live For Speed is redoing theirs, iRacing is redoing theirs but if I talk to people, netKar PRO does not need to. What do you think?

Well, actually, I am redoing ours too. I am writing a Kunos Tyre Model.. which isn't based on any previously published approach to tyre modelling. For me, the magic word I try to achieve with my tyre models is "congruence".A tyre needs to behave in a predictable and realistic way in every condition. Real time simulators have the bad habit of putting the tyres into a lot of states that are not covered by standard tyre models literature, like spinning out, burning tyres, going backwards. All these things.. they are cool yes.. but they aren't that interesting for scientist.The typical tyre models available do a very good job of describing the tyre behaviour within some constraints,but they fail when the situation goes extreme.

Comment: There is an ongoing discussion about using fixed tables for the data or real time calculations (not a maths guy, sorry!), like ISI they say.

Personally I don't do that, but I see the advantage of doing it that way. My fear is that this is exactly why I feel disconnected in their sims. Sometimes people ask me what I did to make FF good in netKar PRO. I am clueless.. I think there is a fundamental difference in how FF is calculated in the group netKar PRO, iRacing, Live For Speed, VirtualGP3, even Gran Turismo Academy felt "netKar-ish" to me. I think my FF is, I don't know, 20 lines of code?

And certain peeps who played the gamestop demo also felt the same way. Very interesting indeed.

That's definitely nothing like the old MCR. I think it will work fine as the intro song tbh. People who want their precious/ridiculous MotC will just have to get over it.

I agree. I can see it working well with racing footage. It's not ideal, but it surprised me. (I really like Soul on Display. :-\)

Not much of an MCR fan, but I'm not entirely against this new sound.
 
I just got a mail from Shopto and they have the release date as 5/11. I guess they're just blowing smoke, right?

Bring he tv down however if you can. You should have the center of the screen directly ahead of your eyes, it does not look that way in the pic.


prop up the front of the setup with books. That way you'll be pushed into your seat and feel like you're accelerating!

It's more likely a track of SCEA's choosing, as each region chooses their own intro music. SCEJ have (I think bar a couple) always had Moon Over The Castle, and SCEE...well, the less said about them the better.

Although Feeder was alright for GT3, but then they had Kasabian for GT4; and they didn't even choose Club Foot.

Wasn't Feeder SCEE, and SCEA had a Lenny Kravitz song?

Prologue is the only one I have in Japanese. And it didn't have Moon Over The Castle for the intro and I was disappointed at the time. But it did have a remix of it in the ending credits.


Edit: Looks like the EU version as the same intro.

The headtracking seems to be pivoting the camera angle to your left or right. Very cool but I was hoping we would get an immersive effect as shown on those youtube videos that Chinese guy made (Johny something).

Yeah, I wanted to be able to peak my head around the car... possibly get slightly different viewing angles in my mirrors. I'm fine with this though. Maybe GT6 :P

All the dutch retailers still have a firm November 3 as release date and are promoting the game with things like free t-shirts or exclusive editions :lol

At HMV here in Toronto they just put signs up saying November 2nd release day.

They also say it's coming out for both PS3 and the Wii.

It's a late reply but you do know he is specifically talking about the feel of the force feedback, Do they have wheels set up at the demo kiosks or just controllers?
