New Grand Theft Auto V screens and interview

For me, lighter and gas is way more interesting than flamethrower.

You can make a trail through multiple cars and/or write swear words in gas and see is from above.

DIY fun and mayhem.

This is my fav shot of GTA V so far

It's going to be so obvious, and I know that everyone feels the same way, but I need to voice it: I need this game now. May 2013 cannot come soon enough.

-from the start on Michael has a luxury car parked in his garange / trevor has access to a helicopter

Not sure I like this, it means I'm never progressing in the main game and will just explore the world and cause random havok.
I think there should be some progression, you shouldn't have access to the entire map and a helicopter right away. Being able to fly anywhere is basically my final goal in every gta, after which I generally lose interest.

Looks better than GTAIV. I for one just didn't think IV was fun at all. Gameplay felt clunky.

I hope this game corrects that.

No, I'm pretty sure you stole that pic from Nicolas Cage's KNOWING.

Okay i'll admit it, I made the pic myself, BUT only because I wish EVERY game had Battlefield 3's lens effects and Uber-Sun.

I mean, really, look how much more atmospheric and generally BETTER the above screenshot is compared to the original.

No single player coop is no big deal to me. Who wants to pick up hookers, beat and then beat them to death with a buddy in the backseat?

Wildlife? That could be crazy. Imagine running from the cops and then having a cougar jump on you. Shit just got real.

Dat receding hairline.

And apparently, every person in the Frostbite 2 universe comes without eyelashes.

So since R* have already said the gang system from Max Payne 3 is coming over I wonder if we'll have 16 player bank robberies 4 people in each team plotting various robberies around the city.

I'm suspecting the ranking system will come over as well good way to stop people rage quitting.

please let the framerate be above 20fps please let the framerate be above 20fps

What were frame rates like in Max Payne 3? Especially the more open levels where they rendered the cities.

It's probably the closest you'll get comparison until the game comes out.

Or, wait for the PC version.

GTA IV looked great too. Didn't like it one bit. We'll see.

Very few hate GTA 4 more than me but this is already guaranteed to be better. Planes/jets, parachuting, much greater focus on side content and a lot more. It may not be better than SA in the end but as far as I'm concerned it's already better than 4.

I don't care how big the world is I want interior environments.

Lots of them.

In mission, out of mission.

In a box, with a fox, I want them here or there, I want them everywhere!

Most of what I've read in the previews sounds good. The SP being 25 hours is about right considering IV was about the same (excluding DLC). I like the map being completely open from the start. I usually explore a bit before delving into the SP. Having a lot to explore at first will be fun for an hour or two.

I'm hoping that you get to spend money on upgrades. I'd like to see bigger clips, more carrying capacity, spawning w/ bulletproof vests and other options like that rather than purchasing a house. It always sucked to fail a mission in IV and not be able to restart the mission again with bulletproof vest and ammo you had before you failed it. That meant a quick visit to buy the stuff again before trying the mission again.

My only gripe so far is the SP not offering co-op optional. It may be rectified with the MP content so I'll wait and see what Rockstar comes up with. I loved IV SP, so I'm really hoping I get to enjoy something like SP content in GTA V with a friend or two.

Yeah I agree. One of the most overrated games this gen. (Imo)

Which is why I'm not holding my breath for this one. Until I see some actual gameplay and the extra things you can do in the game besides play through award winning story missions, its going to be hard to take much interest.

I always wonder why they dont just release a gameplay video of the one mission that they have every outlet play

I know its Rockstars 'thing', but I remember RDR having detailed gameplay previews

From reading this

- Multiplayer has been developed by a separate team and it will has been developed as something as important and full of content as SP.
- COOP confirmed in MP

And this from the guardian article

Developed at Rockstar's Edinburgh studio, with input from several of the publisher's other developers around the globe

I wonder what R* team is doing MP. As it sounds like a lot of work.

I appreciate the non-bullshottery. I just hope the PS3 version isn't some hideous Sub-HD abomination.

Don't want to hop onto the platform discussion bandwagon but, Max Payne 3 was faily identical on both platforms and I thought that game looked UNREAL for a console game. Of course MP3 did not have to render an open, living, breathing world.

I feel 16 again, the anticipation feeling in my stomach reminds me of the days I've waited/hyped for GTA: San Andreas.

Interiors don't mean anything to me unless they put things to do in them. Otherwise they're empty buildings that take up extremely valuable system resources for no reason.
