New Last of Us Cinematic

It's like Ubisoft found out Naughty Dog was developed The Last of Us and went Asylum Films on them and said, "Shit, isn't Montreal free? Get them working on this now!"
Doubtful. I Am Alive was in production for quite awhile before anyone ever hear of LOU.

At any rate, that was a simple but oddly riveting cut scene. The acting in Naughty Dog games flow so nicely.

dan!

I rolled my eyes at that part; first thing I thought of. Hopefully it's a red herring and something cool happens like they get ambushed when they arrive or something

oh come on, first we complain about too many actions/shootout in a game scenario, so they mix it up having you to look car parts, setup exploration gameplay nicely and now you want more ambush, action, and combat please?

still not playable to public though. there's this just tiny bit of small chance that it's all smoke and mirror. I hope not though.

I love Naughty Dog, I have bought all their games since Jak 2. This studio never pulls the smoke and mirror card...I am guessing it wasn`t playable because it`s still early.

Wait guys. I'm getting Uncharted 3 flashbacks. What if we're overhyping this?

Uncharted 3 was fantastic, but I’m kinda worried too. If this isn’t Uncharted 2 levels of awesome I think people will be extra harsh on it...

Even if it ends up being great instead of godly...people have extremely high standards for this team now, it can be a good and bad thing.

We don't know whether it could lead to a fetch quest, but they are amazingly trite and intrinsically videogame-y, so that's why I rolled my eyes.
An ambush is just one of many things that could occur, I'd take anything over a rote fetch quest that's just there to artificially pad the game length however.

I think it was said that the Uncharted 2 team is working on this. Uncharted 3 was done by another team if I recall correctly.

the e3 demo looked better than anything in Uncharted 2 IMO...the combat, the animation, the sound...

Maybe Ellie is so angry because she's menstruating and needs to change her tampon, like some GAFfers suggested back when the game was first revealed

please tell me this isn't true.

Ps3 fan boys actually believe this is exclusive. This graphic is only possible on the PC. While you play the inferior version on console, I will play the superior version on PC with 1080p, full AA, and Adoptable resolution.

Adoptable resolution! I can't wait to file the adoption papers.

*sigh*

Media blackouts suck. I saw all I needed to see at E3 and promised myself I wouldn't look at anything else. I did a media blackout last year for Uncharted 3 and the game was amazing (since I didn't spoil it for myself). I can expect the same for TLoU.

lol @ the reactions towards ellie.

lol yea wtf.

she gets handcuffed by a stranger and then a gun pulled on her partner and people want her to sit and smile. jesus people. Also keep in mind she doesn't know about life pre-disaster, id say they depict her pretty well seeing that its a VIDEOGAME.

So comparing a studio's current game, which shares tech from previous games from said studio, is somehow illogical and stupid?

Many other games get complaints about brown visuals, from my eyes The Last of us has very brown and yellow visuals. Uncharted as a series had a very vibrant color scheme.

I didn't even say The Last of us looks horribly bad or worse than Uncharted, but thanks for not elaborating on why I'm horribly wrong.

Oh yes, I need this in my life.

That scene was perfect; it perfectly grasped the tension between the characters and the desperation of them. So good.

You can't judge a game by one cutscene. They already showed other parts of the game and they seemed less "brown". It probably look like that in this cutscene because we are in a garage without much natural light or it is just an old place idk. You can't forget we are on an apocalyptic scenario too, different then Uncharted.

It's mostly brown/green because it's showing the decay and rot of the world years after whatever happened to make everyone zombies, along with the emergence of plants everywhere. What do you expect, rainbows and pink flowers sprouting up at every turn?

The gameplay/screenshots I saw during E3 and the cinematic in this thread have been consistent graphically, that's a nice screenshot you posted and I expect more varied environments, but I'm still slightly underwhelmed by the visuals in The last of Us.

ZombiU looks surprisingly colorful and fresh, and that's a zombie game. I already know the circumstances in the game's world and story, once again, that doesn't change my perspective on why the brown and green pallet is sorta not helping out the visual part of this game.

I'm expecting more than Uncharted 2 to be honest. I love Unhcarted 2 and it was a beautiful and fun game but I'm still looking for something more, something earth shattering.

how disastrous would this be to watch for those on a media blackout?

can't resist :|

just like the previous cinematic they released, it's just a story setup for the upcoming stage. like before you're trying to escape from bad guy and in this one you need to look for items. it didn't spoil anything like why Joel need to go where etc. it does show a new character though.

Pretty sad that this will be released next year. I suppose they don't want to rush the game to market like they did with Uncharted 3, which is a fair excuse.

I don't know, guys. This cinematic was just a little too cinematic. I hope the rest of the game isn't as scripted as this. I also hope it doesn't suck like Uncharted 3. That game sucks so bad.

Well, that was some of the best cut-scene I've ever seen in the game (in the context you want them cinematic and well done at that)

Looks and sounds amazing.

In fact, Crystal Dynamics should sack whoever is running their voice acting on Tomb Raider and hire the people behind this game. Shit is night and day. I'm almost embarrassed for them......

It's really nothing. The ones screaming "OMG THE SPOILERS" are probably gamers who also think seeing a new weapon or vehicle is a massive spoiler too. It's a 2 minute cutscene that gives no major details whatsoever.

It's a cutscene. Cutscenes in videogames are scripted....

:lol you were expecting a cut-scene not to be scripted? What would it be then?
