Looks fantastic. Every time we get new media, it kills me to think that this game won't be out this year...
What's the matter with Ellie's reaction? Seems fair to me given the situation.
And I agree with people saying that Bill looks like Parker from RE:revelations. That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw him...

Exactly my thoughts. Lol I mean it is post apocalyptic so I would assume "morals" (lack of better word) would be thrown out the window. But man. She didn't annoy me at all until I saw this video. I mean I don't want a useless RE4 Ashley but this is doing the most with the front she put up. Can't quite explain it :/
I don't understand, really. If you don't want a defenseless lady like Ashley and don't like the straightforward way Ellie acts, what would you like? A boring character with no personality at all? Who neither reject orders nor do it on her own? May as well have a door as your partner...
I'd rather have Joel partner up with Alyx Vance.

Seems like an oddly out-of-context video to show, and it makes me question constantly the context they are operating within because I don't know about the details of the story up to that point in the game.
Really? She seemed realistic in this cutscene. I really dug everyone in the scene.
So you basically want a sexually ideal female that is more well mannered.
So you want to see her taken down a peg? That's a little weird.
Which is fine. Lol. I just didn't have a particular "oh im going to enjoy being with her through the campaign" vibe. I didn't mind her at all before. Even after she put up the fight and brick throwing in the E3 vid I thought she was cool. But this vid kinda put me off for some reason. I just don't know man. Lol.

It's perfectly true, some GAFfer suggested that since Ellie was a teenage girl she should be menstruating and have to look for tampons, and the monsters could smell her blood :lol Here's the post that started the brouhaha.

This is the first time I've been convinced that I'm going to like the charcters. Writing seems really great.
I wonder if this game has multiple endings. They've talked about how as the game progresses Elle gains new "abilities" ie ways to help you out in combat. It would be cool if the amount of guys you kill vs stealth and the amount you let her kill for you alters her psyche and effects the story. Would go well with their design of having the option to take the moral high ground and pass by dudes stealthily, but maybe being worse for it because you don't get to loot their stuff. Maybe I'm reaching here but I think it old be cool.

it's a ps3 exclusive. But seriously, some of the complaints about ellie sound stupid. She is living in a zombie infected world, her family is dead, she is with a stranger who goes around killing people brutally, what the fuck did you guys expect? lol
Just to be clear I wasn't referring to those posts.
But I do agree the complaints abotu Ellie really doesn't make sense.

Someone needs to change this gif so that the Ellie is PS3 slim, Joel is the PS3 fat, and Bill is the PS3 "super slim".
Maybe also have her whimper and moan a little.
Maybe a solitary tear rolls down her cheek because her precious feelings were hurt, while she desperately clings to the burly male player character for protection from the evil bad men.

I think the "Ellie is annoying" opinion comes from not being grown up enough to understand kids, or maybe the holders of such opinion are still pretty young themselves. 
Seriously. She's a teenager who had a pretty tough life, her attitude fits her and is understandable. <3

Anyone complaining about Ellie should realize that she grew up in a TOTALLY different world. She wasn't born with our manners and ideals to abide by.

Ellie (14) gets handcuffed to a rusty pipe: breaks free and smashes evil guy with the pipe.
Lara (20-something) gets handcuffed to a rusty pipe: Eidos says that experiences like these make Lara stronger.

The standard answer to "Ellie isn't acting realistically" is something like:
Some people seem to miss the whole 'post apocalyptic with zombie mushroom head guys running around'...some don't.
The thing is she thank the guy and even introduce herself to him,she only got mad after he handcuff her.

I can't help but think that this exact scene also occurs in Enslaved. Making your way through an overgrown post-apocalyptic world, you bring your female companion to a booby-trapped area to meet a fat guy because you need a form of transportation from him. He says he doesn't have one, but when pressed he reveals that he knows where the parts for one are, and if you come with him he'll show you where they are. It seems like both scenes are going to be followed by levels where the three of you track down the parts while making wisecracks. Not that I think Naughty Dog is stealing ideas, just a neat coincidence. I'm guessing you won't have to race this guy to the top of a junk pile

Yeah, but in that world, she was brewed that way. Fight for survival. Her being a teenager probably make her more animated than the calmer Joel. It's clear that they both didn't see Bill as a big threat seeing as she reacted that way and Joel was not threatened in anyway and remained collected.
