New Ocarina of Time 3D Trailer

They changed it to the Shard of Agony and it makes a sound when you're near something.

Its now the Shard of Agony
Instead of giving clues in the form of a rumble, clues will now be given in an audio and visual sense. Whenever Link comes near an area with a secret, a pinging sound will play, and a small icon of the shard will flash at the upper-left part of the screen.

Ah. I was rather annoyed with the VC releases due to the Classic Controller containing no rumble capability.

(Yes, I COULD have wired up a traditional GC controller -- but the Wavebird is so much better!)

OoT: Making bald men cry everywhere. Again!

I will probably never play this (since I don't ever plan on owning a 3DS), but that said, is it wrong that I'm more excited for this than Skyward Sword?

Kind of sad that this is my most anticipated 3DS title, a port of a years old game that's been offered for free.

The best Zelda's ever sounded, and it was just for a trailer...

I hate to say it, but this new 3DS trailer is actually making me consider canceling my preorder for OoT 3D. Game's still ugly. Gonna have to see it run in person.

Such a revered classic should have gotten more attention on visuals and a redone score. Or handle it the way FFIV Complete just did; give players the option of an arranged soundtrack or the original. I for one don't want to hear the cacophony of emulated N64 crap.

Oh man, good one Nintendo. That trailer was exactly what was going through my head not too long ago. We're on the same page here.

Hmm, maybe I'll be able to shed some light later this week...

On what?

Lightnings and other energy related effects (like when link pulls the MS out) look like crap.

It may look like that in the video, but the effects look pretty clean and decent. I'd honestly suggest waiting till you can play it before jumping to any conclusions about the visuals.

It doesn't beat seeing it in person, but...there are several recent videos (on Youtube and around the internetz) that show the game running on the system. It definitely looks a lot better when running on the actual system, and I'd imagine that the 3D effect would make it look even better.

Only people who haven't played OoT3D say it looks bad ;)

Watch the bastard in motion, sexual.

Well, I'll be damned.

Looking forward to your review of OoT 3D.

Eh, never said I was reviewing it, so like the quality of the visuals, don't jump to conclusions. But yes, I've had a chance to play it.

Nothing made me hate TP more than the soundtrack not being orchestrated. I really, truly hope that the next game is orchestrated like Galaxy 1 & 2.

But the instruments were so kewl.

How is it that Nintendo makes this great epic trailer for their handheld redux of Ocarina of Time, but their main console release has a bunch of terrible trailers? Seriously, I'm more hyped to play a game I've played multiple times than the next game in the series.

HOW IS THIS AT ALL A GOOD TRAILER?

I agree, this trailer was super epic. I can't wait.

Man, the graphics are really bad. :(
I guess since they haven't changed much from the original I guess I'll pass.

- Locked 30fps as opposed to sub-20fps
- Upgraded graphics, including 3D renders for previously 2D areas:
- New boss rush mode (with secrets)
- New harder Master Quest mode with mirrored map and harder enemies

And graphics, bad? Really?

And look at this one. 3DS above, N64 (emulated in HD! still looks crap) below:

Anyway. I played this at the feburary Bristol 3DS event. It was awesome, and I will be buying it.

I think the graphics look really good and I haven't even watched this new trailer.

Besides the questionable everything-is-brighter, they changed the game much more than I thought they would and it works.

I probably chose the best time possible for my first proper re-play of OoT. I've owned every other bits and pieces of the damn game throughout its released history, but never bothered to get properly stuck into the adult Link section for some reason. Been over a decade since the original so many dungeons are going to seem absolutely fresh.

good thing I couldn't tell the difference then :lol
The only reason I noticed was because of the rumors that it was going to be fully orchestrated. I looked for it and obviously, was disappointed. There were some good tracks in the game, but overall, it was a letdown.

When did you last see the original? This looks much better.

Yeah, it looks a bit better than the old version, but it's still very ugly.

What's master's quest exactly?

Best game ever. Just watching this made me realise how much there is to do in this game.
What a ridiculous accomplishment in that time.

Everyone should have played it once.

Might buy a 3DS just so my GF can play it.

You are one of those blind people without a memory.
It's amazing how games look in the memory of some gamers.
Did you actually forget how BAD n64 gams looked, how BAD ps2 games looked?..

Re-designed puzzles and interiors of dungeons. And seriously, play it. It looks superb in person and most definitely not 'ugly' - just look at the hyrule town comparison I posted above!

Holy crap! What an awesome trailer! It's almost like....Nintendo remembered HOW to promote their games again!

What gives with the craptastic Skyward Sword teasers then?

How come Amazon doesn't allow release date delivery for this game? :( The Mercenaries 3D has it...

The game comes out on a Sunday and Amazon doesn't ship on Sundays.

Also trailer looks great, can't wait to play it. Never beat it on the N64.

looks so ugly :/

really not a good early showcase for the 3ds
It's a port/remake of a game from 1998, I don't think anybody was thinking it was gonna be a showcase of the systems capabilities
