New Overwatch Hero Orisa Revealed, released on PTR

The Fortify thing feels like it could help be a Roadhog hook counter.

You could potentially place her barrier and supercharge on the front of a payload, but the fact that they're both stuck on the ground feels more like a defense focused tank, which contrasts with Reinhardt being able to move with the team.

Fortify looks like it also resists sleep dart, rein's hammer down, and mei's freeze gun while active.

Wow....that could be a serious game changer. She could save entire teams by being the only active member in the chaos.

Watched a video of gameplay, did not react to mei's freeze gun. Her ability sheet even says "cannot be affected by action-impairing effects"

Ilios well tho

The orb stopping and pulling in mid-air is big.

Pulling people off the balconies and roofs of Oasis, or the Control Room of Lijang will be super helpful as well.

Hell, think about pulling an enemy McCree back behind a wall while he's high nooning.

Do we know if the pull works through enemy shields? If so, goodbye most "Height Advantage" tactics for a lot of map beginnings. I.E. Rt 66, Gibralter, Dorado

Any videos of people testing out Fortify? I'm curious how it interacts with stuff like Roadhog's hook, Rein's charge, and Graviton surge after being caught in it. Seems like she could seriously fuck up Roadhog using his ult.

Cool, look forward to trying her out after finishing Horizon.

Would have been cool if the little girl sat in the spawn room remote controlling her

I'm sorry, but I love her name. It seems exactly as creative as an 11 year old would come up with.

In case you didn't see the pattern:

Orisa comes from the OR-15 model omnic:

OR-15
OR15
ORIS
ORISA to make it a girl. :P

I think it's a cool design.

But....no nerfs to Bastion please. His recon mode is finally useful!

Jeff already said there will be changes to him on the PTR next week to dial back some things.

Her visual design isn't immediately wowing me (don't hate it though), but her actual gameplay looks great. Can't wait to give her a try. Awesome to have another tank option

Mei resistant? Ohoho yes, very good.

And much better handling of the release this time around.

Outside of the fact that they teased doomfist recently.

And that this isn't doomfist.

What.

Game has badly needed a relatively stationary tank that can eat stuns.

Gaaaaaame changer.

Granted, fortify lasts about 3-4 seconds but I think that's enough time with preparation to absorb a sleep dart/ mei ult/hammer down and walk away and put her shield down and use it to protect herself while also having the option of using Halt to suck enemies away from her to be defensive

This hero seems OP as fuck

Vaccuum on an 8 second cooldown?

What are you smoking Blizzard?

PTR is already out, ironclad reduced to 20% is the only change

Edit: This was the quote I meant to grab:

They specifically mention doomfist in both the developer update and Orisa's lore video.

He's building up. Keep in mind Blizzard never intended to make a Doomfist character, players latched on to the idea after the game launched, so it was always going to be a while for Doomfist to show up.

As someone who wanted to main Winston, this is extremely disappointing. Winston's shield starts its cooldown once it breaks and has less health.

Winston gets love in the form of making his giant nog slightly harder to hit

So is her gravitron just like a way weaker version of Zaryas?

Her default design doesn't do much for me. I think it's mostly the color palettes, and color combos that seem boring to me since Genji already rocks the silver/green thing. Reinhart has the Silver thing, and Lucio has the glowing green things when in speed mode.

That said, I love this skin because it reminds me of Anub'Arak and Anub'Arak was my fucking bro back in the day:

wat. you talking to me?

This is the first Overwatch default design that I don't really like much, but I'm looking forward to playing her. I love her emotes and highlight intros, though. Great voice work, too.

Okay, don't quote me on this but according to a friend who just tested this out -

Apparently if you use a Rein charge into an Orisa that's fortified, it's basically treated as if you charge into a wall. Rein stops dead in his tracks.

It would be hilarious to act as a wall for your rein to pin people to.

makes sense. roadhog hook probably is just like hooking a wall then

Can confirm Roadhog's hook clanks if Orisa is fortified.

It's pretty likely Ana's sleep dart won't work either.

EDIT: Sleep dart damages Orisa but yep it doesn't work either.

Looks like her health is split up like prenerf D.Va. Has 400 HP, 200 armor and 200 Health.

She has 400hp right? Like Zarya?

Except where Zarya has 200hp 200shld, Orisa has 200hp 200arm.

DVa used to have 500hp, and was buffed to 600hp a while ago, but when they gave her 600hp, they made 400 of it armor. Later it was swapped to give her 200arm on top of the 400hp.

I'm glad Blizzard realized the cute games and clues get old as fuck after the first, what, three months?

Not a big fan of the base design, seems like she'll be cool though.

I was hoping this would be the case, it will be awesome to body block charges. I assume Orisa takes the pin damage in that case, but what happens if Rein already has someone pinned and then hits a fortified Orisa?

I would imagine she acts like a wall, and whoever was pinned gets smashed between the Enemy Rein and friendly Orisa.
