The clouds had some strange pixelization when you flew right into them. I'm sure they will tweak it before launch.

Lets hope so! Sounds like some graphical bug or something. What kind of frame rate was it running on oxygen?

i didn't notice any framerate problems in the Warhawk demo. There were some in the Motorstorm demo and the HS Physics demo. Nothing serious though.

you should watch the E3 video again.

Motorstorm looks great. Definitely next gen. It also looks nothing like the E3 trailer. You can refute that, I guess, but people on both ends are clearly showing their fanboy. It does not look like shit, but it does not look like E3 either.

You're right, at this stage it doesn't. And I don't know if it ever will. But what I'm saying is that after all the particle effects are added, we get videos were the colors aren't desaturated, and more cars are added, I think it has the potential to come really close.

awesome! I hate games with unstable frame rates ~_~

I think those vids deserves their own thread. Frankly, I gotta laugh at all the people *cough*xbox fans*cough* that said Lair's graphics had been downgraded from the earlier trailers.OWNED!

Motorstorm is looking pretty HAWT, too. How the hell is that not impressive?

if you were there, you would have felt so-so about it as well. it is nice looking but not 'OMG GAMING HAS CHANGED FOREVER!!' wow. Nothing near the trailer from E3 the year before either. it was on par with what people should expect, but nothing more.

Lair is great looking. I wish I sent to the session to get a closer look :( They did have a reel running in the Factor 5 recruiting booth, which was really nice.

True, just screwing around in the mud looks fun in itself. Excelent physics.

I think people were expecting E3 footage and were disappointed, plain and simple. Which is fine, since, as good as it looks, what they showed is still pretty far from the target render. I could understand not being blown away when the expectations were already sky-high.

That said, I'm pretty confident that they'll do what they have to do to get it where it needs to be by release. It looks like the core is in place.

Man it was freaking tech demo!! Lets wait to see the actual game first! I am sure it will look awesome after they have implemented the tracks, AI cars etc. But the tech is pretty cool.

Here's one of the few times Evolution have spoke about Motorstorm (old interview). This track sounds like its going to be awesome

Letting slip more details exclusively to PlayStation.com, Martin enthuses about a velodrome-style track that's to be set within the crater of a volcano. "You're right up on the [vertical] sides of the crater," he enthuses, "and you'll have rocks falling past and everything.

After watching that cobbled video I dont think it looked so-so at all. A really nice looking vehicle model driving around in some pretty bland looking terrain, but showing off excellent suspension physics and a level of ground deformation/interaction I cant recall ever seeing before. I dont think that makes it "OMG GAMING HAS CHANGED FOREVER!!', just an impressive, albiet incomplete work in progress that demoed an exciting new feature. I think some of you guys got caught up in the "OMG COMPARE THAT TO THE CG SONY LIES!" schtick. There are middle grounds you know.

element, it seems as though you're almost 'damage controlling' the Motorstorm vid. Everything positive said about this new media these last few pages garners your reply.

Let me ask you (and anyone else) a couple of questions...

1. Was this not simply a demonstration of the terrain deformation? No tracks, AI vehicles etc as people have been saying

2. Was this not shown 8 months before release? And from what I read, weren't a couple of these videos from December?

With all that dev time remaining (8-10 months!)... how can you make such definitive statements like "it was on par with what people should expect"? That video wasn't even intended to be shown to the general public... it was just a tech demo showing a cool feature of the game, similar to the HS video showing of the physics of 10000000 enemies getting fucked up.

Why do people judge these games so early? Sure, you're just basing your opinion on what you've seen so far, but then don't make definitive statements as if this was the final product. 8 to 10 months, people!

it isn't a tech demo. this is game code. this IS a game build. The HS Physics thing, that was a 'tech demo'. The destructable car demo, that was a tech demo.
The Resistance: Fall of Man, Warhawk, and Motorstorm was GAME CODE, not tech demos.

Well if they plan on releasing in Nov, then they have far less then 8 months. The game needs to be DONE by the second week in October, unless they fast track it, which gives them another 10 to 14 days. Which really means, the game should be cutting release canidates in September. That gives them about 6 months of real 'work time' on the game. But then there are things like E3, getting a demo out the door, transition from alpha to beta to final kits. I don't think they have time to put much more into the game, in terms of tech. Right now they are fighting the content battle.

Harrison characterised it diffferently in the Q+A afterwards. He said they had "stripped out the game" just to highlight the technology in Motorstorm, and that at E3 they'd obviously be pushing it as Motorstorm "the game". Ditto with the vehicle dynamics demo, apparently. HS was characterised as 'production code'.

So it's game code, but not a game build? :p

Motorstom wasn't a game,it is just a car in a field with mud.Tech demo level.
Resistance and Warhawk were games, the rest was shown in a tech demo form.
Of course we don't know what's the status of those games internally.

they had many cars and motorbikes on the screen, with AI (since they were driving around themselves).
I would refer to what was shown of Motorstorm as a 'test level' of within a game build.

So what is the game about?Tell us.

Everything is taken from a game build someway, but only Warhawk and Resistance were shown in a actual game status.

The point is that in the form it was shown at GDC, it was directly targeted towards developers who would have a better understanding of the mechanics of the game and know what to pay attention to and what to disregard.

Until they show a video of the game that's directly geared towards gamers, that exists for the sake of creating widespread interest, I'm not going to assume that this is the best the developer has to offer.

When they show us what we, the gamers, should expect from the final game in real-time, then i'll start being more judgmental.

I think that is why majority of developers were so-so on the PS3 games presented, while press and gamers who saw them think they are great looking.

I'm done downloading. Need host.

Seen the warhawk one. Not a HUGE better quality than the one already seen, but better nevertheless :)

Ok. Goodies are flying towards you Element. Gonna take sometime due to my poor Upload speed (just 30ksec).

First one in the query is Warhawk. Est upload time remaning for this one: 15 minutes.

I'll probably make a new thread with links.

yeah.

btw, I was just checking the videos and there is one which doesnt seem to work right. Sadly, it's the Resistance one. Video stop at around 14sec in while audio keeps going. Probably an issue with my codecs so I'm uploading it anyway.

The Lair demo is just the old TGS one but this time action stops and camera rotatee around dragons to show how awesome they are. And they are.

EDit: Holy shit warhawk is better than Jesus.

OMFG That look awesome, whoever said those were unimpressive is an a$$h0/_e.

Im sorry xbots but not on even your launch games looked this hot! That sounded fanboy like but its true!!

Anyway can't wait for E3 :)

Dont worry. They are coming. Keep an eye at the main page for a new thread dedicated to these videos.

Man, I wish I can make Resistance vid run :/
