8 hours later and was still having issues both downloading & installing. Installed manually through usb. Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Woah someone else gets this besides me? It's only with that one theme, and it only does it on my new Sharp TV I picked up during Black Friday, but not on my older Vizio. Don't know what's up with it, but it only really seems to be with that rectangular theme.
I had a weird issue with GTA losing my settings, loading my saved game in story mode, then proceed to restart story mode at the very beginning. Fortunately I was able to just reload my game, but this has all happened after applying the PS4 OS update.

I get something very similar on the Paper Sculpture theme every now and then.
The download speeds still aren't fixed. It still jumps between 400KBps and 7MBps constantly. I am getting fed up with downloads taking about five times longer than before 2.0.
What are you talking about? I am in the US where digital and retail games launch at the same price.
The PS4 web browser memory management needs a lot of work. I get frequent 'Out of System Memory' messages when attempting to access a stream on Twitch.
In fact, the only way I can get Twitch to work in the PS4 web browser is to type in the stream URL manually, press 'Go', then immediately open the 'Search' bar using triangle (which causes the keyboard pop up on the screen). The page will load and the stream will then begin playing in the background. I now must wait for a full minute to allow the browser become stable before it is safe to close the search menu and watch the stream.
This method has been somewhat consistent with me. But jeez, why did I have to figure that out in the first place? Hope this update addresses these issues.

Didnt have time to download this update today, but will download it tomorrow, just want to make sure its all good before I do so..weird thing is that ever since 2.0 came out, whenever I would turn on the PS4 I would get a weird error message regarding there being no wifi connection, but then once Im logged in it would sense it right away..strange..have lots to download tomorrow(Those free PSN games for December for one) so hopefully this update is a good one, I know, more stability 
That needs to be added on my firmware wish list.

Yeah it is fucking annoying when you read something on a PS4 and they show up unread on the PS3 and Vita and also the app.

I just got The Last of Us from PSN for 206 SEK, while the cheapest it has ever been in any store is 328 SEK.
While retail prices are usually cheaper than the regular PSN prices, the deals on PSN are pretty much unbeatable.
So at least here in Sweden that statement is untrue.

No worries, mate. The Singstar ad is pretty bad, especially since it boots up to it and it takes over the whole screen. The PS4 stuff isn't as intrusive but there's more of it.
Really? Maybe you guys are lucky then. The EU prices are crazy. I was just looking at Diablo 3 and it's still £59.99 (sixty quid for a game is crazy no mater the circumstance) on PSN while it's £35 on Amazon. Need for Speed: Rivals (a launch game) is still £54.99 on PSN! It can be had from Amazon for about twenty quid. Dragon Age: Inquisition which just came out is £54.99 on PSN at £48.00 on Amazon etc etc.

No, the prices at launch are the same here. After launch you can find games a bit cheaper at retail when they go on sale, but sale prices on PSN tend to be about on par and sometimes better, so it is kind of a back and forth thing. I tend to buy games when they first come out, or rent them when they first come out and buy them later when they reach super cheap prices through sales.
5.1 audio works great for me on Blu-ray movies and games. Outputs all the glorious formats like DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby True-HD, etc.
Might want to look up a guide and see if you have everything set up correctly.

Post update, my ps4 is significantly slower at boot up and my queued downloads from the webstore didn't start up. I'm going to try a database rebuild tonight. I really hadn't had problems with it till this update, really strange

Once you have installed the theme once, it will always show on your Theme library unless you got it from another account. If it have the download arrow on it then the theme is not installed.
Yea the arrow shows up but when I try to download it again I get an psn error. Then it will show up installed even though nothing downloaded,giving me the same message that it's corrupt and need to delete.

put a 1 tb drive in my ps4 last night and did the upgrade. I got notifications for every message that was ever sent to me. Is this because of the patch or because sony is dumb with messaging?
Or, it simply means that the log of read and unread messages is client side which got wiped when you upgraded the drive.
I noticed this as well. MEGATON!!
I think this is correct as the PS3 and PS4 can show a message as unread on one, and read on the other.

this is probably just placebo. too early to tell. messages and pictures were fine for me before the firmware was released. in the past the issue would come and go depending on whether or not psn was on the fritz

It happens the boat theme if I bring up the OS while playing a game. It dissapears if I close the application.
