New REmake in 2015!?

Capcom is better off with remakes of their older games seeing as they're having more misses than hits lately, in my opinion. They should just take the Pokémon route. Start remaking older shit.

That's what I meant with enhanced port. If they have the original files to create high res backgrounds, that would be fantastic. If for technical or licence reasons they can't, rebuilding the game in 3D could be fine as well.
Although personally I wouldn't mind with SD graphics. Just make a Vita port and it would still look great :D (not going to happen :/)

There was a great post in a thread last year that linked a few of his leaks to old articles on Eurogamer. He takes obvious rumors from months past that made perfect sense then as now and he regurgitates them.

He is not an insider. He is not special. Most of us (if not all of us) could perfectly mimic his routine.

Define insider for me. From what I know of him, he is like most other "insiders," that simply repeat what is given to them by developers that do not want to lose their job. They are the middle men, which is why it is ok to take what they say with a grain of salt. If it seems like it makes sense, it probably is true. This one has some logic behind it, so let's see what happens.

Playing Chris's campaign in 6 after beating Leon's, I must say, this is the best RE since CV for me. I mean the best original RE. The GC remake of 1 was amazing.

But if they just made the world a little more open and kept that Raccoon City feel, then would would have something really good.

So in some ways a reboot but they have a good stepping stone coming off RE6 and I'm a big RE fan with a day 1 purchase on almost every entry minus 5.

I wasn't talking about him specifically, but that is best point I've heard about these "insider" tweets making headlines.
 
Strangely enough I just got my Wii copy of REmake in the mail today, can't wait to play through it again.
And I hope this rumor turns out to be true, I would love to see a remaster of REmake with updated CGI and PS4 quality models. It would be the most beautiful game ever assembled.
 
Besides the fact that it's thuway, not many "insiders" have gotten anything right about Capcom's projects, so I'm going to take this with a bigger grain of salt than I would normally.
 
You're not gonna believe this, but, I never really played REmake. It's in my GameCube backlog. I know how good it looks next to the PS1 original and the Saturn & PC ports.

Gotta play it.
 
Thuway used to be pretty reliable, but after what happened with the UC4 rumour, I'm not so sure anymore. Regardless, it doesn't seem like a completely surprising move from Capcom. Since he says that info is coming very soon, I'm guessing either just before Gamescom or during it?

Barring other responsibilities, should you have free time at any point this week in which you would occupy it by playing games, opt to play REmake instead. That's doing yourself a favor. You can really forego any game you're currently playing just to play that game for a day or two and say you've completed it, then come back to us to express your regret for not having played it years ago.

Did he ever use to be reliable, though ? Could someone make a list of Thuway's leaks to see how many he got right versus how many he got wrong ?

I want this to be true, but I need some grounding to avoid losing my mind.

It can strain some PR relationships, when some journalists wonder why they didn't get invited to such an event.
 
Any REmake would be really good but Capcom does have any talent left in their Studios? (besides the fighting game ones, they still got the touch)

Also, i dont think that any RE game with tank control would sell a lot given the actual gamings trends, and Capcom really need to sell their games given the financial situation of the company.
 
Frankly, I wouldn't trust modern Capcom to do anything but screw it up. Assuming this is real, which is seems like it isn't.
 
Maybe Resident Evil can transition into a first-person type of game? I can see the horror factor returning in that form while maintaining the ease of movement that has since come with RE5 and RE6. I would still like cut-scenes outside of first-person, but I think I would really enjoy a Resident Evil in this view (excluding Operation Raccoon City and Darkside Chronicles, not like those scripted games).
