New small Toyota hyrbid . . . 'inspired by 8-bit videogames'

I like it, if you had everything white (the dash and interior/exterior) and maybe some tinted windows it'd look like a car designed for StormTroopers!

I'm all for crazy stuff being done on the outside, but inside shouldn't really be changed. Has to be comfortable for me, and that kinda looks like the inside of a crash test car

Kids these days with their damn hybrids and 8-bit video games!
(I teach 8th grade and I guarantee you that less than 10% of kids would even understand, give an example, or be able to explain what is an 8-bit video game)

nice they even switched on the scanlines filter on those seats !

I really like it. Not something i'd drive, but it's really nice.
But that's the point with guys judging cars;
"looks like something i'd drive, does it look powerful and aggressive, would i look cool in it ? than it's a beautiful car".
"is it rounded, original and funny / girly ? ugly car"

It's a very original looking car (if that's what it ends up looking like) with a very interesting design.Of course i would hate my parents if that's what they got me for my 18th birthday, but that doesn't mean the car isn't nice.

Interior looks like they put it together using aeron chair knockoffs and whoever designed that steering wheel and instrument panel should be dragged outside and shot.

They don't really drive cars though :P

That' more the point with Americans judging cars. European best selling cars are usually compact and city cars and in japan the best selling car nowadays is the prius.

Only thing that immediately comes to mind is Space Invaders, when you look at the windshield, headlamps, and black elements of the hood as one shape.

Please don't associate a master piece like Space Invaders with this "car".

We have some reaaaally expensive office chairs that look similar to the seats in this car, and they are surprisingly super comfortable... if you think the frame / mesh effect makes it look rigid and uncomfortable, you might be quite surprised if you ever sit in one of these things.

I wish more cars played with the interior design a bit, and that more manufacturers tried to create something which we could look back on in 10-20 years and think of as having come from this era. Everything looks the same.

Wow at that interior...

Seats look extremely uncomfortable though, I can't imagine riding around in that thing for hours on end. Interesting dash to, I guess all the dials and controls are up on that thing stuck inside the steering wheel.

it looks like they put thin fabric over a bad patio furniture metal frame with no padding whatsoever.

Holy spartain interior!. My Suzuki Wagon R kei car has better interior than that. What the hell Toyota. That better be a kei class car, because I don't see many people willing to play full price for such a bare interior for a regular sized engine car. Taxes in Japan for cars are still expensive even if you car is a hybrid, although it helps a lot. But man, what the heck those seats look like some lawn chairs I used to own.

there aren't a ton of concept cars that have comfortable interiors, so, uh...

Those seats in the interior are probably very comfortable. If you have ever looked at very expensive office chairs, they are made of this material. I've sat in them and it's nice, not wicker like at all. It's a conforming mold that keeps cool. Definitely not cheap if its the same thing as these office chairs I've seen.

The headlights are light right next to the windshield. That's weird as fuck. Like ... how do they even work like that?

I actually really like this car O.o it looks so different than everything else.

I am mindblown, I can tell from a design aesthetic I should hate this but just how different it is attracts me. Released in North America with the right price tag I might get one.

ITT no one knows how concept vehicles work.

That isn't entirely true, people I am sure understand how they are.

With my post I was discussing my stance on it in a room of people disgusted by it. Sadly it'll look nothing like this when released and just be another generic design I imagine.

I like the look of it. It's not particularly 8-Bit looking, though. It seems they're using it more as a buzzword than anything else.

It'll probably be another youth-targeted car that will be popular with retirees, like the Scion XB.

"It's like punk, but it's a car."

That one worked out real well. WTG marketing geniuses.
Oh man, I thought I was the only one who remembered that.

Was that Jeremy Davies' first role?

I wonder if they are going to have a color that matches the supercar from breakthru. I would consider one then
