New Star Wars series female-centric and everything you (didn't ask for)

Thousands of people interupting my every day life to tell me that they're mad about the lady wookie, or whatever the fuck, does not sound like the most fulfiling way to spend my time. The people who make these movies end up getting death threats. Were you one of the people sending those?
You do know it is possible to not read Twitter, or the comments section of an article?

I see this attitude a lot lately. People disagreeing with anything you make is now apparently this huge burden on these poor people. 🙄

I don't feel bad for rich people who are paid millions of dollars to write fan fiction, and I don't believe for a second that their life is danger from "death threats". If a tweet ruined your day and made you miserable, you are either a huge narcissist or have some other issue.

What a vile person. She should be a proper "ally" and step the fuck aside as a director if she actually believes the bullshit she's spewing.

Oh, nevermind, she just wants the power and the ability to signal her virtues.

So...did you send some death threats or not?

here is the thing.

the world has toxic people in it. it doesn't matter what color you are, gender, race, or what is your favorite movie, or comic, etc. it is just random genetics. some people will be more aggressive. it's a fact of nature. anyone who tries to say fans of x or y are inherently bad is gatekeeping, which is aggressive behavior.

often the people who complain about toxic fans the most are the biggest toxic fans. they write for media outlets with publish their Tweets or blogs or videos to thousands or millions of people. they already have outsized influence. on top of that, they get aggressive when they see a threat to their dominance. if people disagree with critics they are called "stupid" and it is said they "can't understand the genius" and that they are "drooling manbaby virgin fanboys" and other kinds of alpha male anti-nerd 80s lingo. it is like the cultural gatekeepers are all jocks in disguise as nerds. Freddie Prinze Jr. screaming about idiots not understanding the force the way he does.

that said, we will see what this is like when it comes out. the ST was terrible but i don't regret that it was made, it is like a EU comic book mini series or something, official fan fiction, by two of the whitest, least imaginative people alive. this is what the third female lead thing now? the ST and Rogue One and this too? ok. cool. go for that audience. i guess the manbabies will buy it anyways.

So we are asking stupid questions? I don't use Twitter , and I sure as hell don't send threats.

What is your proof that these people are in danger?

I mentioned death threats had been sent. I asked if you had sent any. You didn’t respond so I asked again.

I guess death threats are usually treated as a potential danger.

I’m kinda sad you don’t want to read my Star Wars fan fiction. Salacious Crumb visits that casino planet.

It makes sense.
They lost the original fans and they won't be getting them back because the ties with the OT have been permanently severed. Their merch sales are also flat, dead.
They need to damage control to make new fans.

I’m glad to see women are finally getting the representation they’ve earned and deserve in media.

It's been said that this was leaked on purpose by KK's team since Bob Iger doesn't want any identity politics in Star Wars anymore, but now they cannot take it back or there will be a shitstorm from the SJWs.

I don't care anymore, for me anything beside the OT and Mandalorian isn't Star Wars anyway.

I just hope they don't fuck up the Mandalorian in its next seasons.

How about separating the artist and the art? Russian Doll is a great show ......

Why can't they take it back? What's the point of bending down to the SJW mob when they're not even the general audience of Star Wars? The majority of people who love Star Wars don't give a shit about identity politics in the first place. Kathleen and her feminist contingent at Lucasfilm should just accept the fact that Star Wars has always been a series for boys. It's got it's female fans sure, but I'd bet most of the fandom is overwhelmingly male.

Really, I'm just confused as to why people like Bob Iger give these SJWs the time of day. Their 'influence' on Hollywood is largely inconsequential. The SJW's online and in the media couldn't turn the 2016 Ghostbusters into a hit, and Joker still grossed over a billion (rated R and banned in China no less) despite their attempts to tank it.

I don't know or care anything about Russian Doll, but I would happily separate the artist from the art. If this person's Star Wars show comes out and by all accounts it's great, I'm not going to let my annoyance at the positions they've publicly taken prevent me from watching it.

Make every character female, I don't care, but please make it good. The problem with new Star Wars isn't diversity it's that the characters and stories are boring. The character of Rey had a ton of problems, her being a woman wasn't one of them

I'm also reading that Leslie Headland was once Harvey Weinstein's assistant, during the time he was selling roles for cooch, interesting.

Star Wars itself may have terrible writers, but the writers for the ongoing Disney Star Wars saga are without peer.

I was thinking, when franchise is dead, it cannot get any worse.
Disney: hold my beer, chuckle.

The worst thing to happen to star wars wasn't the prequels, it was Disney.
I actually liked ep 2 and 3 of prequels.

A rumor that I hope is true. With the parks shut down that money train is at a stand still.

They don't need anything hurting their built in audience money makers right now.

If you like the concept of Groundhogs Day or the more recent Happy Death Day films, it's worth checking Russian Doll out.

According to who? The same critics who believe the last Jedi was the greatest film since Citizen Kane?

According to me.

Disney has a good start to a Star Wars property with a B+ showing that is the Mandalorian. All they have to do is continue to create stories that are good in a crazy ass universe. I'm not sure why they don't get this.

Details of the exact plot of the series are being kept under wraps, but sources say it will be a female-centric series that takes place in a different part of the “Star Wars” timeline than other projects. Headland is said to be attached to write and serve as showrunner on the series, with the show currently staffing.

Leslye Headland, Harvey Weinstein’s former personal assistant and the co-creator of Netflix’s Russian Doll,

She adds, “So as I started to rise in television, I just started to get more blunt. And just start saying, ‘I would like a black writer.’ Because if I said diverse you get well, ‘White is diverse,’ which is something somebody said to me.”

She then stated, “And I was like, ‘Wow!’ I was like ‘It’s not, cool.'”

I guess we'll see if this one actually happens...

Edit: Great choice for Star Wars:

Don't fool yourself friend, Kathleen Kennedy still has until 2021 to do crap as Disney - LucasFilms current CEO; until she gets covertly evicted (so that their shares don't go lower/ bad PR to save face) after the recent emergency meeting by the Board of Investors & Directors which actually fired her ally: Bob Iger (former Disney CEO 2005-2020); hoping they do the same with JJ Abrams... He keeps pissing on World Famous Licenses (Star Trek remakes, Star Wars remakes, what's next?).

It's amazing how much Kathleen Kennedy and her feminist army at Lucasfilm are doubling down on this woke bullshit. The Mandalorian already showed them what fans want out of Star Wars. And that's good and simple stories with characters you care about. None of this diverse gender equality bullcrap.

Stop with the insistence that you need to make a female centric Star Wars. It's had women in prominent roles since it's beginning.

Yeah yeah. I'm including Rey in there, despite the failure of the Sequel trilogy. I still like her and Daisy Ridley deserved better.

Damn Natalie Portman is my Dream
