3DS! Mine just took 2 second, like literally, maybe it b/g downloaded3DS updated in about 2 minutes.
Wii U though... half an hour and still counting.
Yeah apps definitely load a bit quicker and close a bit quicker...
I still think this is an update for the freezing and they made things slightly nippier!
EDIT:
Yeah...just tested Miiverse...it opens quicker and closes muuuuuuuch quicker.
Everything loads so much faster now. It's so much better for me. Actually so happy.
Definitely an improvement in my opinion. Hopefully more people get the same result, which seems to be the case thus far.
Some things seem marginally faster.. daily log and system settings still quite slow though.
The update screen should have Mario smoking.

It can't be all these things lol
My OS got fucked up 2-3 days ago and it started taking 5-10 minutes to close anything. This latest update fixed my OS speeds back to normal.:-(
My app loading speeds havent changed at all. wtf? Maybe yours were just REALLY jacked?
EU shop den pa men demo now available + game for £7
It takes longer to load things into slower RAM. I don't see a patch fixing the RAM. Only way they're going to improve load times is by making the programs smaller.
Did the 3DS get an update too? When I got home it told me so, but the update took like 2 seconds to download and install.
Miiverse was always fast launched from the main menu. Its only slow when a game is running at the same time. Maybe people experiencing faster speeds are just checking it without a game running.
Weird, I'm at 5 minutes now.Good news: update starting downloading automatically.
Bad news: close to a 5 hour estimate time. That is longer then the original update lol. I have a 10 Mbps connection btw.
:-(

I recorded the app loading post update in case you missed it:

Yeah, feels faster for me as well, although this update is probably bug fixes.
Good enough for me, hoping TVii is next

You're doing it wrong.
If you hit the Home button it takes longer to switch apps...if you back out with (b) and manually open and close apps you will notice the difference.
Ultimately, I've never been a huge complainer about the OS speed except for the unusual slowness to enter, and to exit the settings menu for this system. I got used to it honestly.
However, I cannot bear these long-ass download speeds.

faux edit: And Done as I was about to post.
Maybe Nintendo doesn't think the OS is slow?
Someone needs to ask Nintendo directly on the responsiveness of the OS
They've acknowledged ut on their support website.

It's under General Info. Doesn't really make it any better, but they know about it.
