I honestly dont understand this excitement around games like Uncharted, Spiderman or God of War on PS4, dont get me wrong, they are OK, but they are very similar to previous parts/games but with better graphics and different storylines. For me, HZD or Detroit are much more exciting as at least these are trying something different/unique. I have got the same issue with Halo or Gers 5, these are almost the same games like the previous parts but with better graphics and new story. They all look "OK", but nothing is jaw-dropping. I think that Forza Horizon played on powerfull PC or XOX is the only game this gen that made me say WOW while playing it.

Same here. For me most Sony 3rd person action adventures are just generic. Halo and Gears too of course. Nowadays I'm more into smaller creative games like Astro Bots, Untitled Goose Game, Ori or Cuphead. I spent more time in My time at Portia than in all PS4 exclusives together and i had much more fun too. Horizon was ok, but i hated that dodge roll spam. No cooldwon, no ressource bar just keep rollin rollin rollin and profit. Bad game design.

I still conisder The Order 1886 visuals to be semi-next-gen, the game didn't even get a Pro patch! The game for $60 is terribly short, but got it for $10 and it was one of the best experiences I had this gen. The gameplay is solid, animations and movements, sounds are insane! Especially the shotgun has some kinda metal clank sound that's simply should be considered an ear-porn :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I think it should've priced at $40-30 and I would be VERY happy to play the sequel as it has huge potential with the amazing acting and lore. Boss fights need to be upgraded though.

The trouble with the order is that while it was gorgeous, it was... well, it was gorgeous. I can’t even begin to start saying otherwise. It was a beautiful game to look at, and while it’s levels were closed off and not open, they used the extra oomph of that to really hit the effects and quality home. Yeah they had to pull a full tricks here and there (far LOD detail is poor, resolution is half that of a normal release etc) but there is no doubt the game looks utterly stunning.

The game itself was a big bag of boring repetitive bollocks that was just one encounter copy pasted over and over.

But visually the game was bloody incredible.

Ive just finished god of war, and while yes it had a few rough spots with regards to the game (and he’ll, it’s contrast levels in hdr are all over the place) again it was incredible. I don’t see why it gets so heavily slated, it was a gold balance of visual flair and great gameplay, of not a tad too repetitive at times.

Snot have a tendency to make third person, story heavy games, yes. They don’t tend to venture too far from the path. But when they do, they make get some corkers. Ratchet, Astrobot etc are incredible games that thankfully are not a big single Male with a gun taking constantly.

while ms tend to make different types of game, and take more risks. The trouble is the funding is spread far too thin and the quality always seems to suffer. Unless you’re a big hitter like Forza, with Forza Horizon 3/4 being one of the best (and most visually incredible) games you can get.

Both companies have their faults, and both can improve in some way. But I keep reading everywhere how Ms has no games and it’s all junk, and I have to say, that’s a completely idiotic thing to say.

The video completely leaves out VGLeaks? Also Kotaku were sent the same 90 PDFs from SuperDaE that VGLeaks info was based on as far as I can tell. Kotaku even mess up in their final PS4 article before reveal on the 23rd January by sharing the same older dev kit specs instead of the latest APU-based dev kit! VGLeaks own article the very next day shows this.

Talking about other so-called insiders like Klee. Going with one source and pretending it is the truth is stupid. But Schreier makes a distinction between what he hears or thinks and what he writes. You shouldn't confuse the two. He only writes it if he is confident in his sources. Look back at Kotaku articles about PS5 and you get a picture of what is actually known. The RTX 2080 statement came out of a podcast. And it was his opinion. And that's it.

Exact quotes:

Yea but they r not off or based on rumors . Many sites as shown by the guy were just publishing false stuff.

i m sure only few know the actual final apu before reveal

Unless you want to call Huang a liar the realistic assumption is that PS5 is below RTX 2080, XSX is above. Pretty sure Nvidia has way more knowledge about what AMD is cooking up and much better dev access than Schreier.

Sure there were many fake insiders and paste bins etc but the bottom line for me is that VGLeaks (whoever they really were/are) were the first to have the full correct specs. Kotaku clearly had the same info but released the info rather 'differently'.

Also I see Jason's name being mentioned in regards the early PS4 rumours but the few articles I've read are by Luke Plunkett and Stephen Totilo?

He’s guessing that as he later states he’s heard from devs that they’re working with very powerful machines.

He’s also confirmed both are close in power.

So a random, seemingly bullshit Pastebin ended up being right about some key details two years before the Xbox One and PS4 even launched. But it was so early, that a lot could/would end up changing. Interesting.

Basically, correct information started coming out at early as two years before the consoles launch, but it was broad before slowly becoming more accurate. Right this moment, we're about 8-9 months from the next generation starting, so we may have gotten specific, correct details leaked to us by now that no one's been able to explicitly corroborate. I wonder which seemingly bullshit Pastebin might end up being partially (or even mostly) true this time around.

Actually that pastebin was spot on for ms and so wrong for PS4.To me that screams that leak was from a MS source with poor info on ps4.

I think it's a mix of lack of memory or young age and hype for a new generation, but it's amazing how people always get baboozled by 'bullshots'. I've experienced too many generation beginnings to not know they always show some pretty video(the word now is 'in-engine') that's simply not actual gameplay or running on high-end PCs, not console.

Lenovo Y740 presented here on the slide has 2080-maxq, and thats 6TF GPU. There's zero chance PS5 will be below 8TF.

Nv chart mention "console", not consoles. I think Huang was talking here about xbox lockhart 4TF (6TF geforce should be faster than 4TF lockhart). Nvidia marketing was always confusing people. For example people thought 2080ti is 2x times faster than 1080ti but of course with DLSS as we later found out😉.

The point I'm trying to make, is that talk tech, even gush about your fave console. Its all good. But don't come at people with personal attacks, which is something you did earlier. Its not needed, and there's enough of it going on atm that's not being sorted. Far more recently than I've seen in a long long time.

And also, anybody who knows me knows that I A) have a sarcastic posting style and B) am anything but a fanboy. I prefer X over PS4 right now, but the jury is out on the future. I have all, and continue to play all. I don't care if you are a quiet poster or a raving loon, lets just try and keep the personal stuff on the down low. I've already had it once today, and the post you quoted me in, you have to admit it was a touch personal. But lets leave it there, eh?

Been waiting for Sony and MS to show them, I don't want to go Heretic or Watch Dogs hyped. And I want a true next gen exclusive gameplay demo, not something crossgen. I remember the first time I had that next gen feeling for PS4, it was an Infamous: Second Son gameplay demo which began with a cutscene and seamlessly transitioned to gameplay, I went WOW. It's a moment like that I want.

Its a deliberate misleading punchline. It works for them on so many levels. They end up taking the power crown? See, we are fastest and most powerful! They end up being slower? Well, we are the fastest most powerful WE have ever made.

Its annoying as shit and I hate it when companies do it.
