The worst thing about the loss is that I still can't hate the Bills, especially Fitzpatrick. At least not as much as our Defense. And Brady's new haircut better means something.

nvm lol

The OLINE is playing better this year than they were last year. Not that they are good, they aren't but they are not as horrible as they were last season. Still Vick is getting hit even more now and I think the reason is because they have been telling him to stay in the pocket. The problem with that is that he isn't Tom Brady or Manning and it takes him longer to find the open guy and then get the ball out. On top of that he is short so for him to see the field properly he has to move around. My theory is that he should be moved around more and should be allowed to take off more. He gets hurt more standing in the pocket and getting hit even after he throws as defensive linemen are closing in on him.

When he is outside the pocket moving around he sees the field better, sees the defenders chasing him better, and is more likely to make more plays scrambling. Forcing him to stay in the pocket doesn't work. Those first 6 games last year when he was extremely effective, he was still moving around as much as he used to in ATL, only that when he moved out of the pocket he would look to pass down the field before taking off.
I used to believe in White Vick, but that ship sailed already. Iggles need to roll Vick out like 20 times a game.

I know Judges isn't in the Torah, but you should read up on the story of Samson some time.

After two brutal injuries, D’Qwell Jackson named Player of the Month

In 2009, Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson suffered a torn left pectoral muscle, causing him to miss the final 10 games of the season. In training camp in 2010, Jackson suffered a torn right pectoral muscle, causing him to miss the entire season — and leading to speculation that Jackson’s career might be over.

But Jackson didn’t just return to the Browns this year. He came back with a vengeance, and today he’s been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September.

In his first three games back after missing the previous 26 consecutive games with the two pectoral injuries, Jackson had 30 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery, helping the Browns go 2-1 in September.

It definitely shows having a decent linebacker compared to last year when our best was Fujita (who also got injured)

Casey Matthews was officially demoted, Rolle is going to start in his place this week. Also Allen is going to start over Coleman. So the Eagles will have replaced their 2 worst defensive players, hopefully it helps.

MLB needs to decide on game times for fucks sakes. I'm heading up to Milwaukee tomorrow for the playoffs and depending on the Sunday start time I might go to Lambeau for a half.

Anyone going to the Packers game Sunday?

So I just read Jason Pierre Paul will be benched once Osi comes back and Osi will play "a majority" of the snaps if he's deemed fully healthy.

... why?

He is averaging 168 passing yards per game, which is even less than Tarvaris Jackson. I would say that is definitely horrible.

He also has a 68.9% completion percentage and has only thrown one INT (He has thrown 5 interceptions over his first three games the last two years.)

I think his lack of passing yards is by design.
Harbaugh is playing a very conservative offense and trying to put Alex in a position to not make mistakes.

This is to accomplish two things:

1. Build Confidence in Alex Smith
2. Limit the amount of turnovers and mistakes made.

So yes if your basing performance on purely passing yards then Alex isn't to hot.

Though over the course of three games that number has increased...

SEA: 124
DAL: 179
CIN: 201

I think this trend will continue as the season goes on. (Of course some games will be better then others.)

So, if you are not a 49ers fan and are just looking at Alex's Stat Line, then I can see why you would think he is having a miserable time. If you have watched Alex over the course of his career you will know this is the best he has ever looked sine Norv Turner was the 49ers OC.

Or, this is how I look at it:

Cam Newton - Avg. 337.3 - Record 1-2
Chad Henne - Avg. 280.3 - Record 0-3
Kevin Kolb - Avg. 270.7 - Record 1-2

Alex Smith - Avg. 168.0 - Record 2-1

I'll take the wins any day of the week.

You won't be taking them for very long with that kind of performance.

I agree with this but I'm just saying that the numbers don't tell the whole story about how well Alex is playing.

Let's not get crazy here. Your two wins are against the Bengals and the Seahawks. Next six games: @PHI, TB, @DET, CLE, @WAS, NYG.

Lets be fair, the Bengals are the best team in the AFC North and the the Seagulls are leading the race for 2nd place in the NFC West. Quality wins man

So Josh Freeman says his faux dirty bird celebration was actually a FIFA celebration. Fat, soccer loving faerie!

Week 3.

Lets look at what the FUCK happend. The G-Men lost most of their recieving core. Osi was out. Corners, shot.

And let we let this one slip through our hands.

First Quarter, tip pass, taint. It happens...

6:06 - still in the first - the reason why Cory is not his brother. HOW THE FUCK YOU NOT STUN the dude 5 yards in forcing Eli to throw that ball away. Bad coverage, dude is slow as molassces.

1:01 still in the first. OMFG... just...just...nooooo.

Second Quarter:

5:25 4th down and maybe 3. Damn - that's a rare bad call by anybody - i expect it from Reid, but he wasnt mouthbreathin yet. Thats ball game if he got it...

The Eagles then go on a run.

1:23. The REAL McCoy goddamn! This dude did some Gintama x Sket Dance trolling on that play. The Grass actually makes the dude even faster. What did he do in the offseason indeed...

Halftime 14-13...

Third Quarter:

6:04 - Nice pass, but then comes the hit that launched a hundred memes. Maybe they need to fix there x-ray machines - oh wait - i know...hows about a O-LINE REID!?

1:23 - after some yellow hankies were thrown, HOLY shit this is a throwing play. WTF REID? They were gonna crowd the line, you send Magam T.E. on a slant. GODDAMNIT REID! That was the easyest 6 points the NFL gonna gift you.

Fourth Quarter:

11:23: 4th and 1.

multiplefacepalm.gif

what is this, i dont even...

8:03 - Dagger to Cruz. UGH.

6:05 PAT Attempt, G-Men. Offisides call. MegaUGH.

5:32 3 and 11. bad bad angles. Dagger.

29 - 16 G-Men.

Wow. This game was easy to win, but some how we shot ourselfs in the foot. Reid dont help matters. And with the Lions playing above their years now we have better wake up and realize that playing the deep ball game (as much as management wants it) isnt gonna get us a title anytime soon. Reid runs the ball at the WRONG TIME. McCoy is a damn stud. Next weekend is a fucking trap game because our Defences's heads are in the fucking sand literally.

As for the rest the leaugue, after a downpour nearly worthy to be called, blibical - Based Cam wins his first game. Happy for the dude.

As for the Bills. The NFL is still stunned. I picked the Pats but i stated that Bills might win. This was a game math wins out 99 percent of the time. But even math has off days. There is reason finance used to use 2+2=4 and rocket science uses some sort of greek. Now both use greek and were all lost. But you got a team Bills.

Oakland could have said fuck the season, but they didnt quit and proved they were better than what mordor davis has given them. beating Jetlife isnt easy but they got some runners. I wonder if Pryor will do the same Cam did for the Panthers. Hope springs eternal (etc)

Pittburgh should have just ran right over the Colts. However, the real playcaller came back and made it a game. I didnt know he did defense too?

Skins/Boys - this game was fucking sloppy. Not defencive clinic. Please BSPN. A sloppy game is what it is. Romo is too gunho for his own good. Suh is gonna have a field day.

Next weeks games:

Kubiak basically saying Foster is 100% and ready to go this week. Don't think I've heard him this confident about Foster - or anyone coming off an injury for the Texans really - leading up to a game. Makes me nervous

Just like CJ...Foster has been nothing but a bust this year. What a hack. One great season and his sophmore season hampered by injuries. I say keep Ben Tate getting the ball..He's having a pretty good season so far.

wtf is this shit?
Seriously?

How many times do I have to say it? Foster is worlds better than Tate.

Tell me how many runs over 40 yards does Tate have this year? over 20?

My point is those stats, IMO, are a major reason as to why we won. Thus, I'll take wins and crap stats over losses and great stats.

JPP will be in there plenty. They can say "majority" of the snaps all they like but he'll be in that rotation. He'll be brought in to play inside at DT much like Tuck is and I wouldn't be surprised to see him stood up as a rushing linebacker on certain plays like he was last year.

I'd prefer to see him starting but having the rotation there will help keep him and the other ends fresh (especially with Tuck nicked up).

Update for Packers-Gaf:

AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
What's the latest on Ryan Grant and Bryan Bulaga? ... Sounds like Packers will be careful and might hold out both.

I figured subconsciously I'd avoid this thread a little based off of going nuts last week off the 2-0 high, and then losing.

I think I've officially taken over sole possession of first place in posts in this thread.

Dude, hell no. Foster is STILL better than Tate. He has better breakaway apeed, can see the holes better, runs more fluid and is better in the receiving end of the game. Give the guy a break he has had some hamstring issues. The guy wants to be out there, he diidnt hole out and signed that 500k tender.

I love to have these guys in fantasy leagues. Pass them a Shonn Greene or Brandon Jacobs for Foster, and they're happy as a clam. (Or in this case, pass them Ben Tate.)

Whoa there buddy, let the guy get on the field first.

Foster is all of those things MechDX posted.

Vision, initial burst, one cut and go, football IQ are all better on Foster. Tate is a GREAT #2 to have, but let's not get carried away here.

I tend to believe Kubiak in regards to injury concerns, they're usually really cautious with injuries and will generally skirt around the issue when talking about a player being ready for Sunday if they're not going to be read. I'm not sure that Foster is 100% just yet, but from the sounds of things he's probably 90-95%. Also sounds like he maybe could have gone against the Saints if they absolutely needed him (they did, but that's beside the point) but gave him an extra week just to be sure.

lets not forget that Tate is 3rd on the on the depth chart and the only reason he's been starting is cause Ward got hurt too.

I think it was his job to win (backup role) once Ward went down... and he hasn't disappointed.

But you're right, it is Kubiak. I'm sure Ward and Tate would split time based on down/distance.
