And that is exactly what lions do best.

BTW, how do people feel about Harbaugh?

I like Harbaugh, he is fixing what has plagued us the past few years.

Turnovers and Time of Possession.

49ers are winning the Time of Possession Battle, 32:23 to 28:34

49ers' Turnover Ratio is +6, tied for BEST IN THE NFL. Only 2 Turnovers in 3 games

Once he gets his system fully installed hopefully the 49ers can be lethal again. We have to fix that abomination of an offensive line though.

if not for larry fitzgerald, the cards have the worst offense in the NFC west which means they have the worst offense in the league. in all honesty, kolb has looked better than derek anderson did last year but it hasn't translated to more wins:

Derek Anderson:
Game 1 (W) - 22/41, 297 yards, 1 TD, 0 int
Game 2 (L) - 17/31, 161 yards, 0 TD, 2 int
Game 3 (W) - 12/26, 122 yards, 2 TD, 1 int
QB rating: 71.8

Kevin Kolb:
Game 1 (W) - 18/27, 295 yards, 2 TD, 0 int
Game 2 (L) - 17/30, 231 yards, 2 TD, 1 int
Game 3 (L) - 23/39 - 234 yards, 1 TD, 2 int
QB rating: 93.8

Kolb is wreckless with the ball. He has better pocket awareness than anderson but not by much. he has been bailed out time and time again by larry fitzgerald already this year.

the best qb in the NFC west at this point is alex smith. he has as many wins as all the other QB's combined, best QB rating, best completion % and least amount of turnovers (1!). we will see how long that holds up but for a division with sam "new peyton manning" bradford and the $80 million dollar man kolb, i find it funny that alex is sitting atop the division with the worst line in the division and with basically 3 healthy WR's (tedd ginn, joshua morgan and kyle williams)

More proof that stats are meaningless if you don't watch the game.

Speaking of stats, where is the stat for begging for flags after getting hit? I wonder who leads that category...

I was hit....and I.....DIDNT GET THE FLAGGGGGGGGGGGGG! WAHHHHH!

someone needs to add stafford to the list of whiny bitches. saw him do it again against the vikings where he gets hit legally and throws a fucking tantrum to the ref begging for a flag.

While me and Packers nation may have many differences on things like politics, science (i.e. evolution, global warming, curvature of the Earth, etc.), and humor it is good to know that all decent human beings are alike on a basic level in our shared hatred of Brady and the Patriots.

Do you want him on the whiny bitches qb list or the fat ass qb list? Can't have both.

Are you saying fat girls are not allowed to cry?

Because I am pretty sure that is racist. Or at least fatist.

LONG ANALYSIS!

This is the right answer. I love what Harbaugh is doing. I don't need flashy gaudy numbers. I want a competitive team that doesn't lose because of its own doing, and so far this is what I'm getting. I can live with the Dallas lost if our db doesn't trip in coverage and leave Miles Austin wide open for a score we may win that game.

I'm even not that torn up about the Field Goal / Penalty situation. Given the talent of the team why take points off the board. In fact Brian Billick starts talking about it as soon as the penalty was seen.

"Never Take Points Off THE BOARD!"

(Though I wish he would have taken the penalty and saw what happened.)

Play calling, when needed, has been far more creative. That Tight End screen to Vernon Davis during the 49ers scoring drive against Cincinnati is not something we ever saw in the Singletary Era.

The team is far more efficient under Harbaugh and you can tell they are better underneath him. I'm impressed with the improvements of Alex Smith so far. A play that really stands out to me is when the snap goes over Alex's head against Dallas and he is able to scoop it up, run to his right and make a play.

Before Alex would have gotten the ball fumbled and given up six the other way while proceeding to lay in a fetal position. I think Harbaugh's understanding of the QB Position is invaluable.

I live in San Diego and before Harbaugh made Stanford a force in the NCAA. He coached a horrid small school here called the USD Toreros and took them from the outhouse to the penthouse in the Pioneer League. So he has a track record of turning teams around and this should be no different.

Obviously it is going to be a long time before we know the real answer but, so far so good.

I do think that Harbaugh has his hands tied to a degree he didn't have a chance to fully implement his system and he doesn't really know what his players are capable of. Plus getting acclimated to coaching at the pro level has got to be a change as well. Not having an off season I think hurt the 49ers mre than any other team.

With that I think they will get better every week and I've seen enough to know Harbaugh can get the job done.

TLDR: ME LIKEY HARBAUGH!

he will open the offense up more and more as we go along. we can't sustain this turnover margin throughout the entire season, much as i would like it. alex smith has somehow NOT fumbled this season even though he is getting clobbered from the blindside time and time again. seriously don't know how we didn't lose a fumble against the cowboys or bengals after how he was hit.

I don't doubt this. Each week the passing yards have gone up and it will be a matter of necessity to open up the offense. Opposing defenses are begging us to throw the ball by stacking the box. A lot is going to depend on how the game is going though. If the game is where the 49ers have a lead I think we see an ultra conservative style and if they are behind, well then he'll give us the best chance to win.

This season to me isn't so much about wins and losses as it is about improvement and it is heading in the right direction. I've said it before if Jim is as good as John I'm happy.

Maybe Stafford grew up with Brady as his idol. He wants to be just like him!

you can already see that jim knows what he is doing. we have made adjustments and had some brilliant playcalls from time to time (the opening game against the seachickens where adam snyder lined up as an eligible 3rd TE, then "re-set" to cause the seahawks to jump giving us the 1st down on 4th and 1.... awesome).

we really need braylon back. crabtree is playing but not healthy so we have 3 WR's at this point, none of them very good (dear josh morgan: catch the ball AND FUCKING TURN UP FIELD! why do you stop to look around? just fucking move the ball forward you stupid shit)

But he wishes he could go back to taking Mental Reps.

In that picture he is thinking..."Isn't David Gerard out there? I'm not comfortable without a clipboard in my hand. I should be daydreaming of what it would be like to play, but not having to because Pey Pey will never get hurt. I want my MENTAL REPS BACK!"

Yes that was great. In fact even though nothing came of it you heard that a lot last week..."Number XX is an eligible receiver" he really likes that.

I think they need to get Delanie Walker more involved he is a good receiver as well and can help while the Wide Receivers get healed up.

If the NFL really goes through with their plan of adding another game in Europe, I'd LOVE to see them playing over here in Germany. Although with my luck, it would probably be something like Steelers-Jets...

I think it's astonishing just what Jim Harbaugh has done to the 49ers in just 10 weeks. Think about that for a second, the guy has had only 10 short weeks with the team, and he revamped 90% of the coaching staff and threw out both the entire offensive and defensive schemes from last season.

Not only that, but the FO was criticized HEAVILY after losing Franklin and Lawson, and failing to sign any big names. It was near unanimous amongst analysts prior to the season that we were a worse team than last year's 6-10 effort. Worse than that.

Yet here we are, a field goal at the end of a game away from 3-0, with the perennially disappointment Alex Smith playing the best football he's ever played, short in only the yards and TD categories (important categories I understand).

Say what you want about who we've played, but IMO it doesn't take away from what he has ALREADY done with this team.

You guys would only get games where the home team usually fails to fill up it's stadium, making them not give a crap about losing a home game.

Yeah Soppoga is filling in nicely and made me forget all about Franklin and Lawson was never going to live up to his potential. Got rid of Mays and actually in a way I appreciate the front office didn't do much.

Let Harbaugh get the players he thinks are going to fit his scheme best. I like the fact we got Davis, and Willis signed up and then rented some guys for a year (Edwards / Rodgers..etc) and let Harbaugh have some say next off season.

Pretty sure it was a 7th rounder.

Almost wished we would have kept him for special teams only if it was just a 7th rounder we got out of it.

If Pete Carroll didn't wan't him then he wasn't worth getting. At least the 49ers got something out of it

Pretty sure the Ninettes have the worst offense in football (214 yds/g), and have their two wins against two of the worst teams in the NFL.

Also Jim Harbaugh is the lesser Harbaugh.

As I've told you before I love the Ravens as a team and I hope someday the 49ers can be a team made in the same mold. I expect Baltimore to destroy the 49ers on Thanksgiving night but I hope the players on the 49ers just lay it all out there and get a win because you know that would be the sweetest victory for Jim Harbaugh.

Also other than trolling what context do you have to say Jim is the lesser Harbaugh.

Jim had a descent career as a Professional QB even has the nickname "CAPTAIN COMEBACK".
Did great Head Coaching jobs at USD and Stanford.

Is inheriting one of the worst teams in football and already has 1/3 as many wins as the team had all of last season 3 games in,and with 5 games left againt NFC West opponents.

John has been a great coach and took over a Ravens team with a losing record but they were by no means a bad team.

Prior to that John did a lot of positional coaching and as far as I know never played in the pros and Jim and John are tied for Super Bowl wins as far as I know.

Would love to see that Super Bowl though someday when both teams are good.

The traveling worries me more than the effort or "trap" game stuff. The Giants have played well in AZ in the past but Fitz has also traditionally had good games against us. In the past three he has something like 330yds and 1 TD. I still think we win this game. Kolb buckles like a bitch under pressure and he'll be getting plenty of that on Sunday.
Agreed 100%. I want to say the Giants, with Osi back, will put insane pressure on Kolb. Frankly I can't wait to see him in the fetal position.

I am going to put the Giants in as my survivor pick next week. It's versus Seattle in NY at the 1 PM time slot. It's almost an automatic W.

Brilliant strategy by Harbaugh to play the Seahawks and Bengals. Beat the Lions and then we'll see

Considering the Seahawks beat the 49ers last year in game one and also had a lost to the Carolina Panthers which was the worst team in football last year I'd say the 49ers have made improvements.

The Lions should be ashamed if they can't beat the 49ers but if you look back in your rear view mirror it wasn't but three years ago the Lions were 0-16. That takes a special kind of horribleness that only one other team in the NFL was ever able to accomplish.

So, I'm extremely happy for the Lions no fans should have to suffer like Lions fans have, but the 49ers are going to need a few years before they can compete at a high level.

But in the case of the 49ers beat the teams your supposed to beat I'd like to see that first.
Then we can worry about teams on the next tier of talent.

DeSean Jackson is once again facing whispers from unnamed teammates that he's afraid to get hit for fear of losing out on a mega contract.

One undisclosed teammate admitted to Yahoo! Sports, "I can't lie -– it is something I've thought about. There was a play toward the very end of the game where it looked like he might have short-armed it. And I don't blame him." Jackson faced the same whispers at the end of last season. He admitted Thursday that staying healthy is his top priority "regardless of where I'm playing."
