This is the least excited I have been for an NFL sunday in a long time. I mean look at the games that are on here.

1) Redskins/Cowboys - I'm not even excited about my own team here. Watching Grossman get killed while the Redskins struggle to score points (as always) will just be frustrating.

2) Steelers/Jets - CBS is trying to sell this as two AFC powerhouses (lol) going toe to toe, but does anybody buy that? The Patriots have already have already shown they are far better than both of these teams.

3) Pats/Packers - Will be a total blowout.
Of course I make this post yesterday then it turns out to be one of the most entertaining Sundays of the year. Clearly I'm a moron.

I dont think anybody expected a Sunday like today. Reason why the NFL is so goddamn good despite some effort to fuck it all up.

As a bears fan I am just happy the Eagles won and Packers lost. Our streak of lucky breaks this season will continue by facing another 3rd string QB tomorrow.

:D :D :D

I know it's a good thing but how does the eagles winning help the bears?

If the Eagles win the division, and the Bears get the North, and end up tied, Bears get the bye since the Bears beat them

The giants would get the breaker over the bears of course. If the bears fall into the wildcard hunt, the fact the the Giants may also be competing for the wildcard hurts the Bears, because they have the head to head.

Also, I can't help but keep watching the Dan Conolly return over and over with a stupid grin on my face.

Also, the Bears could be the first team to clinch their division...wtf

:lol :lol :lol @ these 3 today in the NFL

1) Linebacker get lit up in DJAX return...:lol :lol

2) Colts ST TD on the onside kick....:lol :lol

3) Seeing the NE lineman running with the ball...:lol :lol

Glad to see the Packers made a game of it! I didnt have a chance to watch it because the game came on at 3am local but i plan on catching the rerun tonight.

How the hell did a 313 pounder almost run one back? Special teams alright :(

I thought the Packers would put up a fight but not that much of a fight. Only proves to me once again that the Bears are an utter joke and that the Packers deserve to be in front of the NFC North.

sorry bro, you are what your record says you are!

next thing you'll tell me is that the NFC west winner doesn't deserve a playoff spot!

Well, atleast you're consistent.

I didn't really expect the Rams to beat KC. I knew that there was a huge talent problem, especially at WR. I knew that the interior of line was very poor, and needs an upgrade. I also knew SJ39 is no longer even an average RB.

Bradford literally has no chance, not that he is blameless. They are 6-9 and must win both games to make the playoffs. None of that, in the grand scheme of things, is disheartening.

But what is troubling is that last year's top 5 pick, Jason Smith, is really looking like a bust. They drafted Saffold this year b/c they knew Smith wasn't cut out for LT, but he clearly isn't cut out for the NFL at this point.

Blowing a pick that high, especially on the OL, doesn't inspire confidence in the leadership of the team. Busting in the top 5 means the new guys are just as bad as the old ones.

I'm not too upset with this loss. We had a nice run. I can live with 10-4. Ready for the Falcons now. Also, holy shit at the Giants game.:lol

The NFC South is the only division with 3 winning teams now. Monday night against the Saints will be awesome. The crowd noise to start the game will require earplugs.

Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez became the first player in league history to have 60 catches in 12 consecutive seasons.

His 60th catch of the season came on his second catch of the game, a 2-yard gain with 6:21 left in the second quarter.

He was tied for the record with Jerry Rice.

Gonzalez is his 14th season in the league and is already the league's all-time leading receiver for tight ends with 1,061 catches.

"I've been very, very lucky to stay healthy," Gonzalez said. "That's a big part of it, just staying healthy."

No official updates from the #NFL on playoff scenarios tonight. I think the Giants are in with a win over Green Bay next Sunday ... #NYG

This is what I figured last night. With a win last night it could have been fighting for a first round bye instead of win and in for the 6th seed.

On the bright side, yesterday was not an elimination game and it literally took everything that that could go wrong to go wrong to lose the game.

Great game last night. Was a really impressive game from the Pack when everyone was talking about how muchh they would get blown out by.

It also proved that Aaron Rodgers isn't a good QB, he just plays well in McCarthy's system.

I like this because it means Alex Smith sucks even worse.

What????

Who will the Bears play in the first? Giants or Packers? Any chance they'd get the west? I really want to see the rams or Seahawks in the super bowl!

That's pretty much the gist as a Rams fan. Even if they make the playoffs, I actually don't want to see them get slaughtered in a one-and-done. I would rather remember a positive season of improvement with hopes for next year.

You won two games last year. Youve won six games with a rookievqb already. Anything else is gravy. Ridiculous to not want to get a young team playoff experience.

The West isn't a playoffs this year, just a bonus game.

Granted, they've gone up a class in terms of competition, but they've regressed this past month. But don't you want to see them do something special and crazy and unforeseen and go into the off-season fired up about next year? Who cares if they get pasted by the Saints or Eagles in playoffs?

If they finish out of the playoffs, with the way they started, and the games they blew, it would be a little disappointing. The West was very weak and there for the taking. A team with a decent coach and QB, even if inexperienced, should win this division.

There is no chance of them playing the Eagles in the playoffs, at least not in the first round.

They'd get the Giants/Packers or Saints, right? And they would get them at home.

The west has already had some success against the Saints. The Niners almost beat em and the Cardinals dropped 30 on them. Sure they housed the Rams straight up but they're definitely a team that can be had with that terrible defense. I think it is most likely that the Rams get the Saints and because of their terrible defense, that's probably who I would want to play in the first round.

The Packers have lost to some truly terrible teams as well and in two weeks, christ they might have to forfeit! Drawing Green Bay might just be a bye. Plus, all you have to do is keep it close and the Pack will find a way to give it to you.

The Giants are probably the toughest match-up but there is a strong possibility Coughlin will go on a murder-suicide spree (well, the murder part will be a spree) and they won't have a special teams anymore. Plus, when Eli is slangin' you always have a chance.

Not wanting to make the playoffs is fucking cowardly and you should be god damned ashamed. Take that shit to the NBA thread, where throwing games for draft picks is a way of life.

Thoughts on the games from yesterday. Unless you were a Giants fan that Eagles/Giants game was one of the best regular season games you will ever seen. I didn't think we would see a regular season game to top the Steelers/Ravens game, but I was wrong.

I feel for Giant fans. I was kind of pulling for the comeback once that on side kick worked (what a play!), but I can't imagine how painful that would be to watch a loss like that to a division rival and with so much on the line.

I was really impressed with Vick in that fourth quarter. I wanted to see how he would deal with adversity and man did he ever come through. Considering that it was on the road and the stakes involved (basically a bye, homefield and the #2 seed) and how much of a beating he took I was really impressed. Now I see why the "Sixer" fans went apeshit when they saw him during the Sixers game.

The Steelers loss was a little annoying as well. I was really happy with our offensive line, but we couldn't out all 3 phases together. It also really hurt seeing our defense make Sanchize look like an average NFL qb. If we had 15 more seconds we win that game, but honestly I thought the Jets wanted it more and deserved it more. Still shaking my head at that run that led to the safety.

And fuck Santa for not coming through last night. I still can't believe how pathetic Flynn looked in that last minute. By far the worst clock management I have ever seen in a professional football game. Even the Dolphins are more efficient!

It would have been worse if the team had been eliminated from playoff contention entirely like that. As it stands, it's still one of the most emotionally draining games I've ever watched and I'm happy to put it out of my mind well....forever.

Move on to this weekend and work to get the win against the Packers. Hopefully, the team is angry and ready to go.

Awesome news about Tony G. I miss him here so much but that was a good trade for us. If we get knocked out, which we will, I'll actually be rooting for Atlanta in the playoffs because I want him to have a ring.

You know as a Raider fan... I... well.. just hate the broncos and any day we beat them is extra special for me. It could only have been better if Shanahan were still the coach. Right now its like slapping a retarded kid. not really all that fun.

And as a 'Noles fan, I well don't really like the Gators. Theres not really the same hate there but I enjoy when they lose. That said, you can imagine my dislike for Tebow but I have to say that after yesterdays game I'm starting to gain a lot of respect for that kid. I'll probably never be a fan but I can see one day not hating him so much and I think he might be able to make a damn fine career as a QB with the right coaching.

I think they just need one more win to get the bye. Same with the Steelers if they beat the Browns.

Atlanta and New England seem like locks to get the 1 seed.

Things are starting to take shape.
