Eli is durable (like all Mannings) so the GM figures, 'eh, bring in Jim Sorgi.'

Pretty easy to be durable when you never get hit.

That said, Unless The Colts do something about their O-Line Favre is definitely gonna keep that record.

If Sanchez and Flacco can start I'm not sure why Mallett can't, heck Mallett is basically a Flacco clone. Big arm, tall, immobile, so-so accuracy.

I think the Bengals are just a bad football team, don't really care who their QB is. A corpse is better than Henne.

Didn't mean to suggest that McNabb wouldn't be a good/decent stop-gap, it's just that McNabb doesn't really consider himself a stop gap and probably feels he's still a top tier QB. Plus, you have to pay the fucker.

I see no way that Rodgers plays on Sunday. No way.

Which is a smart decision, in my opinion, even if he passes the neurological tests.

I certainly hope he doesn't play. I just wouldnt be shocked if he did.

Depends on the predraft looking into. There are a lot of rumors out there that say Mallett is the white JBust in more than just physical stature.

hey, i said evasiveness. that is not the same thing as being able to fucking slide. eli is about as about good as there is at stepping away from pressure (or scrambling when need be) and avoiding sacks.

Knicks looking good right now running like this. They've been doubling Amar'e down low. If we had a higher quality perimeter shooter to compliment we'd be in business.

Well they were running, the Heat slowing them down now. :|

Sal Pal said on ESPN radio that the Skins own Mcnabb's rights until September 1st at which time they would have to pick up his option of release him. He thinks that Shanahaan will just keep him in limbo until then, and by then all the QB openings will be filled.

Mike on the radio today said he'd let Don know straight up what's good probably right after the draft.

They already look like fuck ups. He'll get his 3 mill or whatever and be released from the deal to join Arizona or Minnesota.

It will be really interesting to see how things work out. No way any team on Earth trades for him. They would have to pick up his option then.

Why would Shanahan do that? Out of spite?

Where he lands depends on which teams want to rebuild with a rookie or young guy and which team thinks they can pick up mcnabb to win now

Right. They're just pretending he might so the Pats have to prepare for the possibility.

I've actually convinced myself that it'll be a close game, even with Flynn. However, we'll lose.

I wouldn't even doubt if the NFL has a new "miss two weeks regardless" policy when it comes to concussions this year, they just never made it public.

Except they obviously don't because Rodgers came back the week after his last concussion

Not spite, why would you let a guy that could be good go to a rival for nothing? If you are the Skins you have nothing to lose holding on to him until the last moment hoping some team panics and gives you something for him.

I hope he plays, personally. There is no medical evidence suggesting waiting two weeks as opposed to a week before playing again has any benefit whatsoever.

Does 'Melo count as a higher quality perimeter shooter? If so, your wish is only one offseason* away!

* Offseason may be several years as the NBA, unlike the NFL, is guaranteed to have a work stoppage.

You dont think the NFL is definitely going to have a work-stoppage? I hope you are right but I dont think so.

95% sure they will not have a stoppage. Goodell just said this week he is confident a deal will be in place before the Super Bowl.

I'm not worried.

Sadly the head of the PA's keeps saying there will be a lockout. I really hope that there isnt though, they would be really stupid to mess up what they have now.

the more i hear the more i doubt there will be a work stoppage into next season. what i think will happen is that there will be no new deal by march. but it's going to stretch out and maybe around may or june they come to some agreement. it'll probably mean minicamps are a no-go, but training camp and pre-season should happen.

i only say this because i think both parties realize there is a lot of money both sides will lose if they dont come to an agreement. we'll see though!

Let's look at the big issue: owners not making enough money.

NFL solution - 18 regular season games.

NBA solution - players take a 33% cut in pay.

Which one of those seems more likely?

:lol, good thing I'm not a nba-age fan

But the owners have also said they want the players to take far less money. Right now the players get like 60%, and the owners want to cut that big time. This article says that the owners are asking for $1.5 billion back a year. That is a huge amount of money.

both sides are posturing. this is how negotiations go. you start with something that you know is unrealistic and work down from there. the owners know they're not going to get the pay reduction they've apparently asked for at this point, but they want to set that as the starting point.

Look at the last few years. Goodell has turned the commissioners office into the SS. He has complete and absolute control of discipline, of rules interpretations and of on-field rule changes. He has taken a massive shit on the faces of players for years and no one has done a thing about it. The NFLPA is weak. They have literally no shot.

we should have football, maybe no preseason though. as far as basketball goes shut that shit down I'm a hawks fan and our team fucking sucks. so stop play until joe johnson's contract expires. fuck the nba

I couldnt not agree with you more. I think the owners will get everything they want, but I think the PA is really pushing the players to take a hard stance. What I think will happen is that the owners will lock them out and it will last until like the end of September, and then the players will crack and give the owners what they want. Once the child support, car payments, and mortgages pill up, they will have to take that they are offered.

the nba's contracts are ridiculous. isn't t-mac earning like $25 million this year? NBA has a great setup for their rookie deals, but beyond that the contracts are just ridiculous. you have average players earning $15-20 million a year. and all the contracts are guaranteed!

Did you get locked out of grade school?
