And on Scott, try the power of prayer brother. Sometimes if you believe in something enough it will end up happening. Lately I am praying for Tom Brady and Bellicheat to spontaneously combust. It hasn't happened yet but I am not giving up hope yet! Especially when the less likely miracle of that Eli upset happening. All through the power of prayer!

By the power of Rooney, make it happen!

Yeah this is a bad idea.

But I agree in principle of flexing the game out if Rodgers doesn't play but I think they have to flex out it a lot sooner than Saturday.

Games I'd rather see:

New Orleans @ Baltimore
Philly @ NY will determine the NFC East
Jets @ Steelers
Jacksonville @ Indy since its pretty much the game that determines who wins the AFC South.

Yeah, sucks that none of those are night games. And how about that disaster the NFL Net is going to show on Christmas? Thanks for that lump of coal NFL!

I know for a fact that at least 5 of Dons interceptions are because of his receivers. With that said, he's been lackluster this season.

But Shanahan doesn't value true rebuilding, and for that reason alone he should go. If he did he'd have gotten a pick for Big Al, and kept the picks that he gave away for Don. Jason Campbell would have been just fine to keep while they built up through the draft over the next few years.

agreed on the donavon deal but ugh no way on jason campbell, he probably would have been benched after game 2 or 3, thus being effectively pointless to have. im suprised the shanny didn't try and get the rosencopter again :lol .

I am not so sure about that. Rex is definitely in his corner, but the Jets are a fickle and poorly run organization. They are built to win now and if they somehow miss the playoffs Sanchize is going to get all of the blame.
They cut Danny Woodhead to keep Joe McKnight. That's all you need to know about their inability to admit drafting mistakes.

NBC needs to flex Pats-Packers with Skins-Cowboys. First time ever that I'm asking for a night game to be changed to an NFC East game.

Guess they could have picked up a free agent QB but they shouldn't have wasted a pick to get a temporary QB solution unless they were starting material. Campbell would have been cheap...and probably would have similar numbers to Don at this point with fewer wins and at a much cheaper cost.

Or they could have kept that kid from Hawaii!

No doubt Sanchez will take some heat but we're talking a top 5 draft pick. He'll get leeway. For as much shit as Rex talks, in two years of Rex coaching the team they have reached the AFC Championship game and they are still likely to hit the playoffs this season. Even if they fall on their face, you won't see a QB brought in other than to backup Sanchez. Much less a guy like McNabb.

Hell the Giants fans are already turning on Eli in here and he won a SB just 3 years ago.
He's not having a good year in the turnover department but much like Deion loves to yell during the Giants highlights on NFL Network, I BELIEVE IN ELI!

New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer acknowledged that he's not pleased with how the offense is going.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez has thrown only one touchdown in the past three games with five interceptions during that span.

The Jets haven't scored an offensive touchdown in two games.

"I don't have time to worry about it," Schottenheimer said of the booing. "It comes with the territory. I know I'm a damn good football coach. I'm good at what I do. We've had a lot of success here.

"Are we pleased? Absolutely not. Am I disappointed? Absolutely. All I can say is, I'm going to do the best job I can, I'm going to bust my (butt), and that's the message for the whole offense."

As far as the Redskins go, I think Snyder is the basic problem. He has no patience, he wants a quick return on his investment. He tries to take shortcuts and ends up costing the team even more time to rebuild and compete. Shanahan benched McNabb in Detroit and that was the end of their relationship.

That belief will be tested on Monday if the Giants lose and Eli has another bad game.

Word is the players think McNabb is being scapegoated by Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan never should have got his son as an OC. Having family in such an important position spells disaster.

plus some on this team already went through that with the Schottenheimer regime right?

I've been watching him since 2004. I've seen the best and the worst of Eli (he was worse in 2007 by the way when the Giants won it all). Sorry, I won't be calling for his head any time soon.

EDIT: By the way, everyone practiced for the Giants today. Devin Thomas and Michael Boley who both sat out yesterday were back on the field.

No one is turning on him. Giants-GAF as a whole (Except Nemesis121) is generally pretty grounded in regards to our team and it's pretty undeniable that he has not been playing all that well in regards to turnovers. He almost singlehandedly cost us the first game against the Eagles and the second game against the Cowboys.

Whatever, we're still 9-4 with a good shot at the post-season.

With Kyle Orton's ribs sore enough to keep the veteran out of practice once again Thursday, it was rookie Tim Tebow taking most of the work with the starting offense for the second consecutive day.

Tebow, who has not played a snap in the Broncos' last three games, would make his first NFL start Sunday in Oakland if Orton cannot play. But Broncos interim coach Eric Studesville said Thursday no decision would be made on the team's starting quarterback until much closer to kickoff.

"I still think we have time. I'm not in a hurry to make that decision," Studesville said.

Tebow ran the offense in Wednesday's practice as well, the first time he had been at the controls for such an extended time since some spot work in the preseason.

"I don't think it was very much different," Tebow said. "It was the first time to get that many reps in a while, and that was good physically and I think it went OK."

"He did well (Wednesday), he ran the offense, he went in there, had command of the huddle and threw the ball well," Studesville said. "I thought in practice he did a nice job for us."

Orton is in obvious pain, doing only some light jogging during the team's open periods of practice. He took a huge hit on his shoulder/ribs from 49ers outside linebacker Manny Lawson in the loss at London that might have kept him off the field the following week if the Broncos had not had a bye. He almost had to leave Sunday's loss at Arizona because of the latest rib injury.

Studesville left open the option of playing Orton this weekend even if the veteran practices little, or not at all, because of Orton's experience in the offense, adding that "mental reps are an option that works."

Tebow has spent some additional time with offensive coordinator Mike McCoy this week, but McCoy said Tebow "has stayed late since the day we drafted him" and called Tebow a football junkie.

The Raiders are tied for second in the league in sacks, just one behind the league leaders, and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum may not be the site many rookie quarterbacks would select for their first career start.

But Tebow has said he enjoys "hostile environments" and said Thursday he understands how things looked in the preseason would not be how they look in Sunday.

"Obviously, guys are going to be playing harder, it's going to be a faster tempo, and it's going to mean a lot more," Tebow said. "So everybody's intensity is going to raise a lot."

I can't think of a better Festivus miracle than seeing Teboooooow put the fork into the Raiders' season. Let's go, Friar Tuck!

Apparently, Joe Webb is being listed as a QB/WR in some fantasy leagues.

Might be worth a look if you're really thin at WR.

damn, mcribb benched for grossman? and then i hear he is actually #3 on the depth chart and jon beck is the #2!?

this has to be a low point in his career

John Beck is better than nobody, not even Henne.

Mike Shanahan comments on benching McNabb:

Shanahan on McNabb: "There's nothing he can do in the three games that would influence me over what he's done in the last 13 games."

17 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Shanahan: "I want to get a feel on how Rex can run our offense. Following the Dallas game, Beck will be the backup QB so I can see him.."

18 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Shanahan: ''Since we're mathmatically eliminated, I've got to see the other two guys.''

Shanahan: John Beck will be Rex Grossman's backup on Sunday. ''I cannot guarantee'' that McNabb ''will be back next year.''

:lol :lol What the fuck...?!

Also, from Simmons':

GIANTS (-3) over Eagles
Reason: Revenge game. And also ... do you realize Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs have rushed for 1,807 yards, 16 touchdowns and 5.3 yards per carry combined this season? If only we had been able to merge them into one fantasy guy -- Brahmad Bradcobs would have been the No. 1 pick.

Question: You remember your idea a few years ago to combine Tatum Bell and Mike Bell into one fantasy player called, "Uber-Bell"? This idea could be used for Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski to create the No. 1 tight end in all of fantasy football. We could call him "Hernowski." Or better yet, "Gronkernandez." Who's not drafting "Gronkernandez" next year?
--Mark, Chicago

Answer: Or Brahmad Bradcobs?!?!? I'm adding this to my "How to fix fantasy football" manifesto -- we pick three pairs of teammates before every draft that can be merged into one guy. Why not? For next year, we could have Bracobs, Gronkernadez and Ben-Danvis Greenwood-Ellishead.

Not usually a Simmons fan but I am bored and thought this was funny. :lol

interested that the redskins can cut mcribb at seasons end and not have to pay him another penny.

i wonder how much of a market there will be for mcnabb this offseason. he clearly has talent but this is a perfect example of a system qb going to another system and not having success. this is why i really didn't want the niners giving up picks for mcribb because who knows how he performs. well, he goes to a similar system (west coast) and he really had a shitty year. the last game i can remember where he really lit it up was the texans game and much like the 49ers i think most decent qb's could light up their D.

i think mcnabb could have SOME interest, but i can't really think of a great situation that he could go into. niners will be looking for a qb, and it's a possibility because we'll have a new coaching staff. vikings are obviously a possible destination. cardinals could be a destination. those are 3 pretty decent destinations. then you have teams like the raiders, bengals, dolphins who could feasibly make a run at him but it would be more surprising.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they were both gone from Washington next year.

And Rodgers is listed as doubtful. Ugh that's less than a 25% chance of playing I think.

Please flex this game out.

Why?

If I had to guess at this point Im going to say Rodgers will play. Doubtful means nothing. He missed the entire week of practice... of course thats what theyre going to list him as.

Whether I think it's a good idea is another story...but if I had to put money on it Id say he plays.

I think the CBA issues prevented the skins from being majorly "blowed up" last year. Too bad we wasted some picks on the McNabb rental.

But they're more than likely to get real blown up this offseason, for which I say bring it on.
