Luongo is .919% with a 2.43 GAA with 4 shutouts with 683 shots faced.
Thomas is at a .937% with a 2.07 GAA with 3 shutouts and 774 shots faced.

You can make a case for Luongo.. but uhhh gonna have to go with Thomas here.

Even if the Nucks win?

Yes, to me that's irrelevant. Thomas has been only getting better from the first round.

Luongo was benched for a rookie in the first series. Luongo has gotten better, but Thomas has been a stronger asset for the whole playoffs.

Luongo beat Crawford.

Gettin' salty yet?

It never fails to amuse me what the lack of hockey does to us.
I just submitted feedback to the NHL to suggest that they create a bronze Stanley Cup, so the losing teams from the Conference Finals can battle it out in a series of their own and we can be entertained between games. Imagine watching the Sharks and Lightning go to war tonight? Would be one hell of a barn-burner.

I can't believe anyone could make the case that Luongo deserves the Conn Smythe over Thomas. I'm all for the Canucks to win the cup and don't really like Thomas, and even I can't see where this is coming from. It's pretty clear cut he's been playing better.

I can get behind that.

Nobody would give a shit or play hard. They'd rather be golfing than playing for third. It would be terrible.

Yeah, this isn't the Olympics. There's the Cup and that's it. Plus I doubt the Sharks would be playing super well right now with the crazy injury list they had.

on the bright side having to play another series would keep heatley off the road a bit longer

Dumb, but a bit funny at the same time...

Well, in the fantasy world where this could only be a reality, I think they'd be playing out of their minds. Plus, Jumbo Joe would finally prove all of his critics wrong, Ben Eager would head into the series a Lady Byng nominee, etc.

It's going to be weird once there's no more hockey to watch until October. This series and the entire series have been exciting even with all the arguing and saltiness in this thread. I'll have a ton of fun watching no matter who wins.
No it won't man. The summer will be even funnier as we are constantly reminded how Boudreau continues to evolve as a coach.

He fucking fired yet and I've missed it?

Nope. He was on DC50 today talking about the team at some golf tournament. When asked about why the Caps were "so far away" from the cup he spent a good deal of time defending their performance. Good to know he's happy with how things are going.

That is the saltiest poster I've ever seen.

To be fair, no one's saying that Thomas hasn't been the better goalie (or maybe Tabris/JWong are, but who gives a shit). It's about value to the team. Consider also that the Conn Smythe has only been given to a player from the losing team once in the last 23 years.

I'd still, as of now, give it to Thomas just based on his performance in this series alone. But I do think Luongo would deserve it as well, especially given his tendency to step it up when needed most.

Nah just the goalie coach left. He's the coach who was hired to help Glasscrotch since he only spoke Russian when he first started playing. Maybe this hints towards Varlamov going to the KHL or being traded.

I just wish Ted Leonsis had some balls and would fire BB. Instead he gives us the shitty decision of leaving that up to McPhee.

Calls the Green Men 'unoriginal' then lists a whole bunch of overdone payouts. Except that Malhotra one which is just disgusting.

NEXT

To be fair the canucks are late on the green men by like 4 years..

Listen, we will gladly give Luongo the Conn Smythe if you guys would kindly hand over the Cup.

Thomas would not be satisfied winning a CS if the team loses, talk about a walk of shame.

edit: just realized I forgot to reload the page, Im way late to this argument. just ignore me and dont drag us back into that argument again.

Conn smyth means soooo little to me right now. Thomas has earned it as far as I am concerned and he can have it. There are more important things on the line tomorrow.

Totally. Just like the Boston Bruins are totally late at serving delicious hot dogs at their games. Like, decades. It's been done. I don't even know why they bother.

Yeah, can't do it better than Burkie's

I watched Game 7 of the 2009 Finals today and became inspired. If a ragtag bunch of guys like the '08-09 Penguins can defy all odds and expectations, and win Game 6 and then Game 7 on the road as massive underdogs, why can't we? I believe.

Because the Nucks have DESTINY on their side.

Yes yes it comes from Always Sunny and college football fans have been doing it for etc etc etc

Any moron can put on a morph suit. Force and Sully actually have personalities and original props/stunts though.

Do you mean Arturs Irbe? Holtby is their best goalie IMO. As for McPhee, he's not firing BB because it shows he's equally inept at hiring a good coach to begin with!

Cassidy? Hanlon? Boudreau?

Fire McPhee too.

Yeah Arturs Irbe. Holtby played extremely well and if he continued to shine I'd be fine with him as the starter and one of the others as a backup. I want both BB and McPhee gone.

It's what I keep telling my friends.
Watched some of the B's, Lightning series again on DVR over the weekend. Man much respect to the Lightning after watching these grimey Canucks. =)

That sucks. I liked Irbe and he did a good job in bringing along all three young goalies.

I've decided. Basketball is stupid. It should be Monday.

Heh, just hoofed it to NBA.com to check out how the series is doing. The Mavs are leading the series 3-2 and are leading game six by 10 points in the 4th quarter.

:lol Please get let those pieces of shit Lebron and Bosh lose.

I'm actually kinda rooting for them. They remind of the old Oilers. But yeah... this entire sport sucks. How the hell do you get excited for something that happens 100 times a game? In hockey that's why you stop watching when Leighton's playing...

I guess that's why some people like it, with no lead ever really being safe, etc. It just feels anti-climactic to me no matter what, though. You can pretty much catch the last five minutes of play of any game and see most of what matters.

LOL, the NBA thread will be fun to read through tonight, though.

Oh its a delight, i decided to check it out, good stuff.

Glad to see james, wade and the boshtrich fail

Roenick says exactly what I was thinking...

That NBA championship celebration seemed like game 10 of the season????? Guarentee u stanley cup winners will be more dramatic and emotional

sazabirules said:
Lol why can't they celebrate the way they choose to without being criticized?
Yea i thought the whole thing was classy, cuban basically let everyone else take the spotlight and let the original mavs owner lift the trophy first

Dirk just has no emotions

Nice to see kidd get a ring

I just find it weird hockey fans critique that when some bitch about Subban celebrating an overtime goal. Let whoever wins the Stanley Cup celebrate the way they want to.
