NHL 11 Trailer

Cool, just had the game give me Miller, Kiprusoff, Doughty, Markov, Myers, Getzlaf, Backstrom, Perry, and Malkin, not to mention I have people like Filpulla, Karlsson, and Del Zotto, and Turris my team is STACKED!!!!

And my team rating is a full 5 stars also.

Ultimate Team is 100 times better than the Madden version. Buying for that alone and would by that mode stand-alone as an XBLA/PSN title.

I really don't like the passing. Seems like it either passes extremely slow and gets intercepted or I attempt to pass to a guy on the right and it passes left.

Yeah, they did that for hardcore mode where you have to hold down the right trigger to pass faster in NHL 10, and I didn't like it. I wish they would stick that with hardcore instead of migrating it over into the regular mode for NHL 11.

So with Canadian junior leagues in NHL 11, will players like Seguin and Hall already be available in game before they play their first NHL game? This will make it easier so I don't have to CAP Seguin in my Bruins dynasty.

Yeah, they'll be there along with every other CHL player. Hall is already in the HUT demo I believe.

That's pretty weak. Hope he had a high potential, though.

I think he and Hall have potential around 94-95, Eberle is around 92 or 93.

They're still listed as being in the OHL, so that might change in the retail HUT just so you can get those line combos sorted out.

That's pretty good. And I prefer the numbering system for potential over the letters, the letters seemed too ambiguous at times.

Also when can xbox live silver peasants DL the demo?

Ive only tried the xbox version of the demo anyone notice if the ps3 plays differently. My friend said the demos always play the same but the retail version play differently and I always notice the difference too. I always get the 360 version and the ps3 one feels janky too me when I play at a friends. What I'm trying to say is I want to double dip this time on both console, but is it even worth if they play differently.

I liked the demo. Loved the EAUHL mode!! I wasn't a fan of the new faceoffs though. I also found my stick breaking alot like once per period.

Still haven't decided on getting the 360 or PS3 version. Depends on how many of my friends get it as some only have 360 while some only have PS3. I'm the only one with both. :D

i had seguin on my hut team, hes brutal, only rated a 74, he couldnt even crack my 4th line

I had Hall, Seguin, Eberle, Schenn, Tavares, and Kadri on my HUT team at once. Still can't get past those damn Flyers

I bought the PS3 version last year, but I'm switching back to 360 for NHL 11. Sixaxis triggers just didn't feel right for those quick saucer passes :\

Stalberg on the Hawks in the demo blew my mind :lol

Good enough to play in Game 7 for the Hawks but not even a starter on Toronto, ugh

Yeah, Chicago's roster is all sorts of weird. Several guys don't even play for the 'Hawks anymore. :lol

Nice, just had Chicago score a goal only to have it waived off because the player kicked it in the net. He tried one of the new kicking it to your stick moves, but it missed his stick and he kicked it in 5 hole, and it was waived off like it should be. :D

I still haven't had a goal reviewed or waived off. The game doesn't like me I guess. At least that ridiculous Kessel goal from that video hasn't happened either. I was worried crap like that would be completely overdone in NHL 11.

Nope, not at all which I'm thankful for.

It'd be really nice if EA would get off their ass and release the rest of the new features for EASHL/BAGM....since the game is out in just over a week.

I can't believe it's almost here. I haven't bought a sports game in 10 years and I've never done any season mode or leagues before. LOL I don't know if I'm ready for the gauntlet.

Well, even if you aren't any good, you'd still fit in the the GAF team. :lol

Too much Bad Company 2? :lol

sounds good, only thing I am worried about is the EASHL goalies, I didn't play club at all last year, but played a few "practice" games with the GAF bunch a few weeks ago and was pretty turned off about how many crap goals go in in club games, might be a dealbreaker whether or not I play on the GAF team for long
You'll get used to it. :lol

The goalies seemed to have been tweaked a little bit so hopefully that crap will be cut down.

Info from the Live Chat:

EASHL:

-Easier to switch player types
-Opposing players will revert back to CPU skill level if a player quits.
-Cards are the same this year, only the progression (XP) and requirements are new. System is the same though
-EASHL league is based on team performance. Each team starts in Amateur and plays their way into the higher divisions
-Better matchmaking in EASHL (Elite/Elite, Amatuer/Amateur)
-More logos for jersey creation
-No spectator mode
-No captains or alternate captains in EASHL
-No custom rinks
-New physics engine fully implemented in EASHL
-In the EASHL this year clubs play one game at a time. This is for a few reasons. 1. promote more 6v6 games and less of clubs with enough people instead playing simultaneous games of 2v2. It also prevents boosting in this way, where teams can play lots of games a night with 2 instead of 6.
-Offensive & Defensive Awareness are back as attributes
-One custom Home & Away jersey per team
-Playing with more players increases amount of points earned
-DNF wins count, but the more they happen, the less points you get. Its a fine line to balance so that teams who are quit on can still advance, while punishing those who use DNF wins to cheat
-Two new player types: Two-way forward, Two-way defenseman

Be A GM:

-The NHL Entry Draft has been expanded to seven rounds for a true
authentic feel.
-With the integration of the CHL (Canadian Hockey league) this year's
Prospects game in be a gm mode will allow the user to play with real life
CHL players like Number 1 draft pick Taylor Hall.
-For the first time ever players from the CHL and any players from
European leagues that currently has an NHL rights team will be imported to
BE a GM
-Ability to draft real life prospects from the CHL and all five
European leagues
-Users will now have the ability to retain the rights of unsigned
rookies for 2 years
-If a player is not signed as an unsigned rookie, that rookie is able
to go back in to the Entry draft if he is still considered draft eligible
(less than 20 years of age).
-Users now have the ability to trade the rights to unsigned rookies
to other teams.
-CHL Season fully playable(Season mode only)
-Pre-season games let the user look at their prospects before they
make decision to send them back down to junior or the AHL.
-Authentic rules will be used, if a CHL player makes the club out to
the pre season. He has up to 9 games to be sent back down to the CHL to not
have his contract counted for the year
-5 trading slots
-Trade AI has been revamped to make CPU to CPU and CPU to User Trades
more Realistic
-Ability to trade up to 5 years worth of draft picks.
-Brand new Trade screen allows the user to trade five assets at a
time.
-Brand new stats panels on the GM HUB, by hitting the right stick
left or right on the hub the users will have full access to all major stat
categories. Everything from Conference standings to the league leaders in
wins for goalies.
-Authentic Draft picks will let the user play with all traded draft
picks belonging to right team (ie Boston owing Toronto's 1st round Draft
picks for 2010 and 2011.)
-Two separate rosters. You can start your GM Career by recreating the
draft maybe even making a trade to get Hall or Seguin or you can start from
the regular season with the most update to date rosters.
-Ability to scout by individual leagues instead of countries

Be A Pro:

-Users start as twenty-year-old undrafted player that is trying to
make his last impression to the NHL scouts at Major Junior hockey's biggest stage the MasterCard Memorial Cup.
-Users will be able to pick any to play from one of the 3 CHL leagues
(WHL, OHL, QMJHL)
-User will gain exp points based on the way they perform on the ice.
These Exp points will be the basis on which the user will get drafted by the more exp points the higher the he or she will go in the draft
-The user will now be able to be drafted outside of the first round.
-Once drafted, users will be able to make it to the NHL before the
season starts by making an impression during the preseason.
-User will gain exp points based on the way they perform on the ice.
These Exp points will be the basis on which the user will be graded. The more exp points the higher probability that they will remain on the NHL club and not be sent back down the AHL.
-The likely hood of a user staying up with the big club is also
determined on draft position if a player is drafted 1st overall they are given more of an opportunity (ice time, what line mates the play with) than a 210th overall pick.
-Can still improve player after earning offline Legend Card
-If you simulate too many games in a row it will affect your ratings which in turn can get your sent down to the AHL. If you play 1 game out of every 5 or so you will be fine and can keep your spot on the roster easily.
