Does he? I know the guy who plays dante made fun of my pens stuff when I met him. D-bag.

Yeah, he's a huge devils fan. If you go into his store in Red Bank he's got 3 championship banners hanging and he was blogging about them during the playoffs for NHL.com a while back.

But I think he, and the aforementioned Greg Wyshinski both match the smug, chip-on-their-shoulder, white trash, hipster mentality description of Devil's fans to a T.

I've been to his store but I can't remember if there was. I think they were over the registers now that you mention it though.

If the Kings got Carter, I would become a Kings fan for the postseason just to see the epic meltdowns of yankeehater and Bruce.

So it's normal for it to happen to the same team for years and years? I think you kind of ignored what I was talking about...
First off, I said:

"It could certainly be due to the officials expecting more penalties and therefore calling more"
"More likely it's just that Philly plays a more physical game and teams respond in kind."

Which address your point directly. Could be a mixture of both.

As for "years and years", the Flyers were one of the least penalized teams from 2001-2006. As for turnover, you can expect things to stay the same when you've always got 2 or 3 of the following in your lineup: Eager, Cote, Carcillo, Shelley, Laperriere, Hartnell and now Zac Rinaldo, guys who are always going to drive up PIM. You say it's "reputation", I say it's more likely the Flyers org lining their roster with physical players.

Well, guess more time for blowjobs.

Fun Fact: Mike Comrie is the heir to the Brick furniture empire.

Ditto, had it in the back of my head that it was later in March.

Currently yelling at a friend of mine to see if he can still get the discounted tickets he'd promised.

How long of a drive is it to cities like Washington and NYC from Philadelphia. Like two hours? Boston would be about four? What about Montreal?

2-ish DC to Philly. 3.5-ish DC to NYC. 2-ish Philly to NYC. 4-ish NYC to Boston. That's all my experience.
And to pittsburgh is a little under 5. Its probably one of the best cities location wise for traveling to away games. ill probably go to all those cities sometime in the next few years to cheer on the flyers.

DC and Philly is around three hours in my experience. I'm a boring driver, though.

I'm closer to DC, so I'm more likely to see the Flyers here than heading to Philly.

This is insane to me. It takes me longer to get to some cities in my own state (Texas) than any of those, and that's going 70 the whole way. I guess that happens when you live in the middle of nowhere for most of your life.

I'd just like to take a moment to say: Fuck fairweather fans. Just went online to look at ticket prices. With my student discount my freshman year of UG (05-06) I could get into Caps games for close to 10 bucks. Now I can't get in for under 70 in the last row. Fuck the Caps.

Always surprised to see how every Penguins fan here is from somewhere other than Pittsburgh. What about Zaraki?

The joys of being on the east coast.
Hopefully Seattle will get a team one day.
Yup. Not just to see games, but to visit different major cities as well.

I'd a take a train to almost all of the cities and then a bus from Boston to Montreal. There's a big difference from driving through the cities during non-rush hours and having go to multiple rental/zip car locations and then take a long cab directly to a hotel or to a commuter rail station. It'll take longer (especially the Boston-Montreal bus) than driving, but it'll be cheaper (vs a rental) and more convenient, especially when MSG, Boston Garden, and Bell Centre are within the downtown areas of their respective cities.

lol @ complaining about ticket prices

At least you don't have to deal with Leafs tickets

I know I would complain even more if ticket prices were expensive and my team didn't make the playoffs.

Don't worry the real Caps fans will support the team no matter how garbage we are. I hope prices go down if we miss the playoffs this year. :)

Yeah, Boston-Montreal is at least 5 hours, I'd say, but that's not counting the customs...

We've been talking about going to California next season during a Pacific Division road trip.

Average ticket prices by team

Would be incredible if they did SJ, LA, ANA, and Phoenix in one trip (it's been done before). $340 for eight tickets. I've spent almost that much on two playoff tickets here.
