NHL February |OT| FIRE ALL THE THINGS

Some team in the league is going to end up with the most penalties per game (for both teams combined). It happens to be the Flyers. It could certainly be due to the officials expecting more penalties and therefore calling more, but it has only worked in their favour. More likely it's just that Philly plays a more physical game and teams respond in kind.

So it's normal for it to happen to the same team for years and years? I think you kind of ignored what I was talking about...

Couldn't disagree any more strongly. The focus should always be on the home team, which means wearing darks.

The focus is still on the home team if they wear white. It just means the opposition looks very different each night instead of looking almost the same every night.

And the home team wearing dark colors has ruined the white-out. 18,000 fans wearing white so they look like they're supporting the road team is borderline retarded.

Psychologically for the fans too, dark colours work better at home. Whites blend in with the ice and that makes it harder to follow those players from a distance. Even on television, it always seems like the team in darks is skating circles around the team in whites because they just have more of a presence on the ice.

No, the focus then is on the flashy dark uni of the opposition, which actually stands out. The home team's bland white looks, well, bland.

Blame that on the dumbasses manufacturing and wearing white t shirts instead of black. There should never be whiteouts. They should be red, blue, orange, etc.

Anyways, I'll just say that I'm glad the NHL agrees with me.

The NHL did it purely for profit motives. They doesn't mean they agree with your opinion that white uniforms are necessarily bland. The Redwings uniforms in that picture look much better than what the pens are wearing.

Orange out was one of the coolest things I've ever been to. Never get the same impression from whiteouts. Caps "Rock the Red" looks really impressive too.

Could not agree with this more - though the white out, other than in Winnipeg, is retarded. Home teams should wear white so the fans get a little more variety every night in the colors on the ice.

I think this might be the first post of yours I've ever agreed with.

We are screwed tonight. Neuvirth is in net again because Vokoun is sick. I'd rather give Holtby a chance even if he hasn't been very good in Hershey this season.

I was gone most of the weekend and saw the majority of the Leafs/Habs game, nothing to say there really other then one thing.

After Lars Eller scored I turned off the TV. My friends asked me why and it was hard to explain to them the mental image I suddenly had of Solo most likely sack lathering the hell out of him after that goal on here.

And in regards to the discussion here about team unis, I like the dark ones at home just because as stated everyone's white unis look pretty much the same.

Playing the white way? Price was robbed of a star of the week by the NHL, I'm not sure how he doesn't get one with going 4-0 with 2 SO and a 1.00 GAA and a .970 SV%. White is back tonight also, I'm super pumped to see him play.

Pierre was dropping a "Do you think the Rangers will get Jeff Carter?" during the game yesterday. Can't see the Rangers taking on that contract length, but it would be interesting.

Neither are we with this team... so.... point?

No point I just thought the idea of a team winning the cup this year with Carter was funny. Flyers are not winning the cup this year but they are at least moving in the right direction. I actually think they will get one with this team if they can land a big time defenseman in the off season.

c'mon guys.. the flyers are gonna win it this year just have some faith... bryzgalovs gonna have a 23 save shutout thursday.

I don't have any real attachment to Carter, but I think your assessment of him is just way off. I don't think he's really all that amazing, but his defensive abilities often get ignored, has an amazing shot, and is a solid skater. I rarely thought he "dogged" it, but he did get injured more often than I would have liked.

I think Carter on the Kings could be scary. They need a scoring touch and he doesn't really hurt them in any way. Plus I could see Richards and Carter being really determined to prove themselves know. If those two go on to win a cup together they could develop a really strong legacy for themselves.

:lol Who does like the devils though? I still haven't found an answer to that question.

Teams like the Blues SHOULD be around. Therefore I hope they find stable ownership. Teams like the Devils can fuck off and die and I hope all the bad things in life happen to them, and only them, as well as all their fans.

Fuck you! They should be good enough to limp along in misery so I can buy tickets to their new arena to see games for dirt cheap!

Nah, I want their smug, chip-on-their-shoulder, white trash, hipster mentality fans to feel the pain and sting of losing a team.

But I suppose dwelling in Mediocrity would also be acceptable.

Well below mediocrity but above them leaving as a franchise. At least until I move further away. When the alternative is overpriced MSG tickets it's not as comforting. :/ I can go to multiple games a year now thanks to the devils.
