Really? Which were these? My understanding has been that he's 'broken' news a few times, but has been wrong a thousand times more. Yet his system prays on people's thirst for rumours, however believable, so he's become successful.

Given the Habs' struggles (on and off the ice), I really doubt Nash would make them one of his choices.
 
Did anyone ever find out what happened to Paul Ranger?

Lightning Defenseman Paul Ranger has been on a leave of absence for undisclosed personal reasons since October 26 2009. He has not told anyone, including Lightning Coach Rich Tocchet and teammate/travel roommate Kurtis Foster, also a defenseman for the Lightning the reason for his absence, saying only that he is attending to personal matters.

According to HFBoards he quit hockey to go back to school, and currently attends the University of Ottawa.

Played fairly well. To come out of the first period with a lead is always, really really good for us. We play much better in the latter half of games for some reason.
 
Ugh, why am I always stuck with the pens announcers... I hate them so much. "He's like an ace of spades... The most powerful card! If you got the most powerful card you just gotta pay it! Ya gotta!" Ugh.

Then how come he wouldn't tell anyone for the first year at least? I'd guess he quit hockey for other reasons, but got his shit together and went back to school. Either way, good to hear. He was a big reason why I won a hockey pool a few seasons ago. Respect.

Emelin is probably my favourite story of the year for the habs and is getting better and more offensive under Cunneyworth.

A lot of the free agent signings (many of the middle-of-the-road guys) were broken first on his website. I'm not going to do the research on the list, but I recall being on here and his site was the first to break the news on several signings. He does have sources--he just adds a TON of rumormongering to his site to draw fans. It's ridiculous.

I wouldn't say a lot in regards to anything Eklund does. I took off free agency day and can't recall one story he broke.

As I edited in, it was a lot of the average/mediocre talent that signed he seemed to have the first reports of.

Definitely not fair to ask you to make a list, but I'll continue to be skeptical. I don't remember there being "several". I don't think he's got that many connections, if it can even be said to be plural.

He also sucks right now, but I don't know, considering how patient he's been over the last couple of seasons, I don't think he deserves to be punished. Thomas also started back-to-back games a week and a half ago before the whole Rask Google translation thing came up anyway, so I don't know what the deal is, really — just sort of surprising to me. Thomas is old, and I just wonder if he has the stamina for the long run if it comes to that again.

I switched to the Pens feed for the last 5 minutes. It was horrible. So horrible.
 
White has looked good tonight, good jump in him I was wondering how long it would be before he fought someone. Surprisingly the Habs have been the more physical team so far.

I stand corrected about my earlier assessment of McNab and Haynes - at least they're not as bad as the pens announcers. GCL blackouts most Pens games for me but I'm not too sad about that anymore. Insufferable.
