Please survive.... Flyers-Gaf won't be the same without you.

After that you have about $15M in cap space to grab a few free agents that bring some size and grit to the team. I'm thinking guys like Shane Doan, Chris Kelly, and Shawn Thornton.

Kelly is a UFA after this season. I'd like to see the Bruins resign him if possible. So far they've locked up a lot of the more valuable players (Marchand, Kreijci, McQuaid, Boychuk and Peverley) who were going to be free agents at the end of the year.

They still need to lock up Kelly, Campbell, Paille, Thornton (should be reasonable contracts) and Rask (RFA).

Corvo and Pouliot can hit the road.

I do not consider Johnny Boychuk a more valuable player. In fact I'm quite mad they signed him. The only thing that will make me happy is if they ditch Corvo asap.

Rask still a RFA right? He'll want some cash but Bruins should be able to lock him up at a reasonable price.

Yeah, the guys I listed are on track to be UFAs at the end of the year. I'm hoping Kelly hits the market - liked the guy since Ottawa.

And yes, Boston's definitely got their house in order.

haha, don't worry, I'll be alright :)

You and Jagr are going to make babies together?
.....

hopefully

Happy birthday to the Great Jaromir Jagr. Plays for a team I hate but I still have nothing but love for the guy.

Oh yeah, and you too t0mp....

:p
thanks brother. jags is all class, his presence is huge and who knows where this club would be without him this year

I agree with you, the fact that he has to be paired with Chara or else he implodes is troublesome. I think the coaching staff and management really like him, so at least in the teams view he is a valuable piece. And since Chara is inked to a lifetime deal he will always have his woobie.

t0mp, if your b-day were a day later, we could be birthday bros. Instead, you remain a filthy Flyers fan :P

Happy b-day!

While still hoping for an entertaining game, hoping the Montreal TrainWrecks maybe generate some kind of spark over here. Our offense is like watching a GAF'er play NHL for Xbox.

Not to mention that Gaborik is really the only injury-prone player on the roster. What are you smoking, Zaraki?

Bodog odds for nash:

NYR odds of landing Nash at deadline 5/2, Bs 5/1, Leafs 11/2, Sharks ,Flyers 6/1, Canucks, Kings 7/1, other teams 5/1.
CBJ would probably be asking for Stepan, plus prospect, plus pick. Would you be willing to give up Stepan?

No, I mean the whole "NYR loves injury prone forwards lololllzzzz"

A more patently retarded statement, I don't think I've heard this year. Maybe something out of Tabris' mouth but that's still pretty bad.

Rangers suck! :D

What does that have to do with anything?

? I said injury prone superstars and you took exception. Not sure what's so hard to follow.

Edit: Henrik don't you guys need D-men more than forwards? Has del zotto gotten any better this year defensively? I can't believe Wolski is almost making 4 mil.

FUCK no. Center Depth + Defense + Goaltending. I'm not diluting our center depth for Rick Nash. Stepan is awesome, and will be a very good player for many years to come for NYR. Not worth it.

Nash only comes to NYR if Sather pays the price he wants, which means the other teams on his list won't give up what CBJ wants and he's the last man standing.

Are you sure? I don't know if I'd call Sather that great of a GM.

I haven't seen too much of Stepan, but I know he's someone you've got to hang on to. If they negotiate, though, that's where CBJ will go first.

Gomez for McDonaugh automatically rights any wrongs he's done. When was the last dumb move he's made? Besides, Jeff Gorton and Gordie Clarke pretty much do much of the work anyways these days. They do the drafting, the scouting, the FA signings and RFA re-signings.

He was able to unload Gomez and pick up a young top 4 D-man in the same trade. He has managed to pull some magic out of his ass like Burke.

True. I'm still amazed he could dump Gomez. It would have been funnier if luck struck twice to dump Redden.

Gomez and Redden are the two that jump to mind but you guys got bailed out on Gomez.

Of course. and that's fair, but it's not something NYR can "afford".

If Sather can pull a Jack Move on Howson, I fully support it. If not, move on, not worth the risk.

I miss having Gorton in Boston. In his only draft year he nabbed Kessel, Lucic, Marchand, along with a couple decent prospects in Alexandrov and Bodnarchuk. Then he traded Raycroft for Rask.

Stepan is a lot cheaper and still an RFA which is attractive too. The way you guys are playing right now, I can't see the logic in making any big moves.

And now Redden is sitting in the AHL, more than likely he's getting amnesty bought out before the next CBA. Rangers are one of the youngest teams in the league, that's on Sather. Our best defensemen are all drafted or acquired by Sather and have only played for NYR. I am 100% fine with that guy right now. If he wanted to make a stupid move for Nash, or any other player, he would have done it by now.

Didn't he sign Chara too? I love that guy. He's the next GM of the Rangers, but he's pretty much doing that right now. He and Clarke are the reason for Del Zotto, Kreider, JT Miller and every other promising prospect the Rangers have gotten since they took over in 2007.

Sather's strength is trades. For some reason, he seems to have some kind of ability to have naked photos of some GMs (Gainey, Sutter for example). Leave the signings up to Gorton and Clarke.
